JERSEY SUNDAY
ONE FAITH. ONE TEAM. ONE PURPOSE

OPENING STORY
Let me begin with a simple but powerful story.
A young boy showed up one day at a football training ground wearing the full jersey of his favorite team—shirt, shorts, socks… everything.
- He looked like a player.
- He walked like a player.
- He even spoke like a captain.
From a distance, you would think he belonged on the team.
But when the coach handed him the ball and said, “Show us what you can do,” everything changed.
- He couldn’t control the ball.
- He couldn’t pass.
- He couldn’t run with coordination.
After a few minutes, the coach pulled him aside and said:
“You’re wearing the jersey… but you’re not part of the team yet.”
The boy was surprised. He said, “BUT I LOVE THIS TEAM!”
And the coach replied:
“Love for the team is not enough. Training, discipline, and commitment make you a player.”
🔥 TRANSITION
Beloved, that is where many people are today—especially in the body of Christ.
We wear the jersey:
- We say, “I am a Christian”
- We come to church
- We speak the language
But Heaven is asking a deeper question:
👉 Are you truly functioning as part of the team?
✝️ CORE SCRIPTURE
📖 Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
This is not just a motivational statement—this is a team reality.
The strength comes from being connected to Christ.
🧭 1: YOU ARE ON A TEAM (IDENTITY)
The moment you gave your life to Christ, you were drafted into God’s team.
📖 1 Peter 2:9 — You are a chosen generation.
- You are not ordinary.
- You are not alone.
- You belong to a kingdom.
👉 Truth:
You are not just attending church—you are representing God everywhere you go.
2: EVERY TEAM NEEDS UNITY (CONNECTION)
- No team wins in isolation.
- Even the most gifted player cannot win alone.
📖 Ephesians 4:4-6 — One body, one Spirit, one faith.
Where there is disconnection, there will be weakness.
👉 Truth:
If you disconnect, you reduce your effectiveness.
- God did not design you to walk alone.
🏃 3: EVERY PLAYER HAS A ROLE (PURPOSE)
In a team, not everyone scores—but everyone contributes.
📖 Romans 12:4-6
- Your gift is your position.
- Your assignment is your responsibility.
👉 Truth:
You are not useless—you are positioned.
If you don’t play your role, something is missing in the team.
🥇 4: DISCIPLINE PRODUCES VICTORY (COMMITMENT)
Athletes don’t just wear jerseys—they train.
- They wake up early.
- They practice.
- They stay consistent.
📖 2 Timothy 2:5 — No one is crowned without striving lawfully.
👉 Truth:
Wearing the jersey is not enough—living the life is what brings victory.
- Prayer is training.
- The Word is training.
- Consistency is training.
🔥 DECLARATION
Lift your voice and declare:
🔥 I am on God’s team!
🔥 I will not lose my place!
🔥 I receive grace to function!
🔥 I am empowered to win in life!
🎯 CLOSING CHARGE
Hear this:
God did not save you to sit on the bench.
He saved you to play your part, to fulfill purpose, and to win in life.
Heaven is not looking for spectators-
Heaven is raising players.
So don’t just wear the jersey…
👉 Become a disciplined, committed, and effective player in God’s kingdom.

No delay, no denial, no carryover of battles!
🌿 As I step into May—my month of THRIVING FAMILIES, FLOURISHING LIVES
🔥 My family thrives!
🔥 My life flourishes!
🔥 I walk in beautiful, visible testimonies!
🔥 This week, I win on every side!
🔥 I am empowered, positioned, and productive!
