*Sermon Title:* _“Chosen Before the Dawn: Living the Call of Isaiah 49:1‑7”_

---

1. Opening
Brothers and sisters, today we look at a powerful word from the prophet Isaiah. In Isaiah 49:1‑7 God tells us that He called us *before we were born*, that He will use us to bring light to the nations, and that He will never forget us. Let this truth sink into our hearts and shape how we live each day.

---

2. The Main Message of Isaiah 49:1‑7
Verse What it says What it means for us
1‑2 “The LORD called me from the womb… He made my mouth like a sharpened sword.” God gives each of us a purpose from birth. Our words can be a weapon for His kingdom.
3 “You are my servant… in whom I will be glorified.” We are called to reflect God’s glory in a dark world.
4‑5 “I have labored… but my reward is with the LORD.” Even when we feel we’re not seeing results, God’s reward is sure.
6 “It is too small a thing… I will make you a light for the nations.” Our mission isn’t just for ourselves; it reaches the whole world.
7 “Kings will see and stand up… because the LORD… has redeemed you.” God’s faithfulness brings honor even from those who oppose us.
*Key Themes*
1. *Pre‑ordained calling* – God chose us before we were born.
2. *Servant‑heart* – We are to serve, not for applause, but for God’s glory.
3. *Universal impact* – Our lives are a light that can reach every corner.

---

3. Supporting Bible References
- *Jeremiah 1:5* – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”
- *John 15:16* – “You did not choose me, but I chose you.”
- *Acts 13:47* – “We are a light for the Gentiles.”
- *Philippians 4:13* – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
- *Revelation 21:24* – “The nations will walk by its light.”

---

4. How This Applies Today
1. *Embrace your pre‑born purpose* – Even if you feel “too small,” God’s plan is bigger than you imagine.
2. *Speak life‑changing words* – Let your tongue be a “sharpened sword” that builds up, not tears down.
3. *Expect God’s reward* – When results are slow, remember the reward is with the Lord, not the world.

---

5. Prayer Points (3)
1. *For Awareness of God’s Call* – “Father, open my eyes to the purpose You gave me before I was born, and give me courage to walk in it.”
2. *For a Servant’s Heart* – “Lord, shape my attitudes to be like yours; let me serve with humility and love, even when no one notices.”
3. *For Light to the Nations* – “Holy Spirit, empower me to be a bright witness wherever You place me, that many may see Your glory.”

---

6. Closing Exhortation
Isaiah 49 reminds us that we are *chosen, equipped, and sent*. Let us not hide our light under a bushel. Let us step out in the confidence that the One who called us from the womb will keep us, guide us, and bring glory to His name through us.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may you shine as a light in this generation.

_In Jesus’ name, Amen._

*Sermon Title: “Watch and Wait – Living in the Expectation of Christ’s Return”*
_Based on Matthew 24:42_
*Scripture:*
_“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day your Lord will come.”_ – Matthew 24:42 (NIV)
1. Opening
Beloved, the world is full of noise—politics, economy, family matters—but the call of Jesus in Matthew 24:42 cuts through the clatter: *watch*. We are to live with eyes open, hearts ready, because the return of the Lord is certain, though its timing is a mystery.
2. What “Watch” Means
1. *Awareness of Time* – Just as a farmer watches the seasons, we must recognize the signs of the age (Matthew 24:4‑14).
2. *Readiness in Lifestyle* – Our daily choices—how we work, love, and give—should reflect that we are always prepared (1 Thess 5:6).
3. *Hopeful Expectation* – Watching is not fear‑filled anxiety; it is confident hope that the One who promised will come again (Titus 2:13).
3. Why We Must Keep Watch
- *The Day Is Unknown* – No one knows the hour or the day (Matthew 24:36).
- *Judgment Is Real* – The parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1‑13) shows that those who are unprepared face loss.
- *Our Testimony to the World* – When we live watchfully, we model Christ‑like patience and integrity for a watching world (1 Peter 2:12).
4. Practical Steps to Keep Watch
1. *Daily Prayer* – Invite the Holy Spirit to keep your spirit alert (Eph 6:18).
2. *Regular Scripture Reading* – The Word is a lamp to your feet (Ps 119:105).
3. *Active Service* – Use your gifts now; the work you do for the Kingdom is eternal (Col 3:23‑24).
5. Prayer Points (three for the passage)
1. *Ask for Alertness* – “Lord, give me a spirit of vigilance so I may recognize the signs of Your coming.”
2. *Pray for Readiness* – “Father, keep my heart and life ready, that I may not be caught unprepared.”
3. *Seek Hopeful Anticipation* – “Holy Spirit, fill me with joyful expectation, knowing that Christ’s return brings ultimate restoration.”
6. Supporting Bible References
- *Mark 13:33‑37* – Parable of the watchful servant.
- *1 Thessalonians 5:6‑8* – “So we must not be like the others… let us be self‑controlled.”
- *Revelation 22:12* – “Behold, I am coming soon.”
- *Hebrews 10:24‑25* – Encouraging one another as the Day approaches.
7. Closing Exhortation
Let us not be like the man who said, “My Lord is delayed,” and so falls into complacency (Matthew 24:48). Instead, let the truth of Matthew 24:42 stir us to watch, to pray, and to live each day as if today were the day the Lord returns.

May the grace of Christ keep us alert, the love of God keep us faithful, and the power of the Holy Spirit keep us ready.

_In Jesus’ name, Amen._

*Sermon – “The Song of Trust (Isaiah 12:2)”*

_“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”_

Isaiah 12:2 is a burst of confidence in the middle of a prophecy about God’s future rescue. The prophet isn’t just saying “God will save me”; he’s declaring that the very act of trusting _is_ his strength. When we anchor ourselves in God’s past deliverances, fear loses its grip and we can sing a new song—one that echoes through our everyday lives.

*What it means for us today*
- *Trust as an active choice.* Trust isn’t a feeling that comes and goes; it’s a decision to lean on God even when the road looks rough.
- *Strength that sings.* When God becomes our “song,” our worries turn into worship.
- *Salvation now, not later.* Isaiah’s “has become” points to a present reality—God’s saving power is active right now, not just a future hope.

*Practical takeaway*
Start each morning by naming one thing you’re trusting God for, then give Him a short “song”—a line of praise, a hum, or even a whispered “thank you.” Let that rhythm remind you that His strength is already at work in you.
*Prayer Points*

1️⃣ Thank God for the ways He’s already saved you, and ask Him to deepen your trust in those moments.
2️⃣ Pray for the Holy Spirit to turn your worries into a song of praise.
3️⃣ Request courage to step out in faith today, trusting that God’s strength is sufficient.
*Good Bible References*

- *Psalm 46:1‑2* – “God is our refuge and strength… therefore we will not fear.”
- *Philippians 4:13* – “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
- *2 Cor 1:10* – “He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us.”
- *Romans 8:28* – “All things work together for good to those who love God.”

May your heart settle into that trusting song, and may every step you take be marked by the confidence that God is already your salvation. 🙏
