Theme: BECOME THE ANSWER

Text: Acts 8:26-27 (NLT)
As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eu**ch of great authority...

MESSAGE
Most times we cry to God to answer our prayers without knowing that God's plan for us is not just to answer our prayers but make us answers to other people's prayers. This is why when he told Abraham to move out of his kindred, he promised him not only to bless him but also to make him a blessing if he would obey Him. "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:" (Genesis 12:2, KJV) From Abraham's case and that of Philip in our Text, two important criteria are necessary from receiving answers or being blessed to becoming the answer or a blessing to others. First is hearing from God and second is obeying God's instructions As God instructed Abraham to leave his kindred, he also told Philip to go to the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza. When Philip got there, God gave him a further instruction. "The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” (Acts 8:29, NLT) And he obeyed. Hence he became a blessing to an Ethiopian Eu**ch. To become not just blessed but a blessing to others you must keep obeying God until you get to your destination. That you can't see results now is not an excuse to ignore the next instruction from God. For you to be an answer or a blessing, wait and hear what God is saying and the direction He wants to lead you before you take any steps. And no matter what you see, keep obeying Him because you must be proven before promotion. Don't just ask to be blessed, ask God to also make you a blessing or answer to someone's prayer, and be ready to hear and obey Him.

PRAYERS
1. Thank God for His grace
2. Father don't let me be too busy to hear from you in Jesus name
3. Lord grant me the heart to always obey you in Jesus name
4. Father make me a blessing indeed in Jesus name
5. Miracle worker, do your wonders in my life in Jesus name

Theme: WHY THE PRODIGAL SON AND NOT HIS BROTHER? 3

Text: Luke 15:11-13 (NLT) .. A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.

MESSAGE
The third reason why the prodigal son was preferred was that he trusted in the love of his Father, hence, his return to meet Him, however, his elder brother's heart was not right with the Father. "The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in..." (Luke 15:28, NLT) Look at that scripture again. It says that he was angry and didn't go in. His anger with his Father shut the door against him. Anger with God or whom He has sent to you can shut you out of God's presence, coverage and blessings, and expose you to the devil's manipulations, control and attacks. Trust in God's unfailing love no matter what comes your way, light will surely show up. Lastly, look at Luke 15:31, “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours."*This is the place that touched me most. Everything that the Father had belonged to the elder brother, yet he never asked for any. Was it that he didn't know about it or that he knew and refused to ask? This is the tragedy of many believers today. They complain a lot but don't pray. Many don't even know what God has made available to them because they refuse to study the Bible. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,..." (Hosea 4:6, KJV) God has given us the right to ask but when you refuse to pray or ask with the right motive, you won't get it even when it is yours. "You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure." (James 4:2-3, NLT)

PRAYERS
1. Holy Spirit please lead me to pray right henceforth in Jesus name
2. Father forgive me for every wrong attitude of mine towards you and your servants
3. Father let my heart always be right towards you and people in Jesus name
4. Ask God what you want
5. Thank God for answered prayers

The second reason why the prodigal son appeared to be preferred was that he had faith in his father but his elder brother trusted in self righteousness as a means of gaining access to his father's heart. Hence, he kept working to please his father. On the other hand, the prodigal son believed in the sacrifice/work already done by his father. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The work which we would have done to deliver ourselves and get access to the father's riches has already been done by the Jesus. What we need to do is to believe in God and enjoy His benefits through grace. While the elder brother depended so much on struggle and suffered, the prodigal son had faith and obtained mercy and favour through grace. No personal effort of yours can give you salvation and access to God. Believe in the sacrifice already made by Jesus and be saved. "That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:7-9 (KJV)

PRAYERS
1. Thank Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross
2. Tell Jesus to come into your heart and save you
3. Father destroy every life of self righteousness in me in Jesus name
4. Father let your grace always speak for me in Jesus name
5. Father let your mercy always attract favour to me and my household in Jesus name

Why has emphasis always been on the prodigal son who squandered his inheritance and not his elder brother who served faithfully? First, the prodigal son had a son/father relationship with his father, hence he went for his inheritance, but his brother chose a servant/master relationship with his father instead. See what he told his father, "... All these years I’ve slaved for you ..." (Luke 15:29, NLT) He was even labouring in the field when his younger brother returned home, Again, when the Prodigal son returned, he went straight to his father. "So he returned home to his father..." (Luke 15:20, NLT) whereas, when his brother returned from the field, he went to a servant first. "Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When... he asked one of the servants what was going on." (Luke 15:25-26, NLT) As you can see, the prodigal son was closer to his father in mind but his brother who lived physically in the house with his father was far from him in the spirit. The prodigal son had direct access to the father while the other chose to know what was happening in his own house through a servant. Some people prefer to talk to God through angels, saints, idols, ancestors, etc., when God has given us direct access to Himself by virtue of the sacrifice of Jesus. God expects you to relate with Him as a son or daughter not as a servant. Jesus did not just pay the price of redemption for you, He also paved the way to the Father for you. You are not a servant, you are a son. Always get closer to God by fellowshiping with Him through prayer, worship, studying the Word and obeying His directives. Mere physical presence in church doesn't mean that you are close to God, be a worshipper in spirit and in truth.

PRAYERS
1. Thank God for His love
2. Worship God very well
3. Ask for the grace to study His word and obey Him
4. Father take distractions away from me in Jesus name

Theme: MAN PROPOSES, BUT GOD DISPOSES 2

Text: Esther 6:4-5 (NLT)
“Who is that in the outer court?” the king inquired. As it happened, Haman had just arrived in the outer court of the palace to ask the king to impale Mordecai on the pole he had prepared. So the attendants replied to the king, “Haman is out in the court.”“Bring him in,” the king ordered.

MESSAGE
Sometimes, God's intervention does not stop at dealing with the enemies of His children, He goes further to promote His children. Haman's plot to eliminate Mordecai and the jews did not only fail after Mordecai and the jews went into prayer and fasting for three days, the death that Haman (the king's second in command) plotted against them also backfired on him. Not just that, Mordecai was promoted from the post of a gate keeper to the office of the second in command to the king in a strange land. "The king took off his signet ring—which he had taken back from Haman—and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed Mordecai to be in charge of Haman’s property." (Esther 8:2, NLT) Being a stranger or slave did not stop God from lifting Haman. So, where you are does not matter, what matters is what God says concerning you. God told Joseph that he would be a ruler but his brothers stood against it. “Here comes the dreamer!” they said. “Come on, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns. We can tell our father, ‘A wild animal has eaten him.’ Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!” (Genesis 37:19-20, NLT) At the end, what God said concerning him came to pass and the same brothers came and bowed to him. The word of God says in Lamentations 3:37, "Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?" I don't know who is wishing, plotting or executing evil against you, God will scatter their works today. Go into prayers today and see that any plan that's contrary to God's plan for your life will not just fail, you will also receive Divine promotion and favour.

PRAYERS
1. Worship God very well
2. Let every Haman in my life reap the evil fruit of their labour in Jesus name
3. Any voice speaking against my life, family and destiny, be silenced in Jesus name
4. Father relocate me to where my blessings lie and help me to get them in Jesus name
5. O Lord, promote and favour me in Jesus name
