He slumped the moment water touched his body.
In the bathroom.
Normal day. Normal bath.
Normal man.
They said it was a spiritual attack.
“Village people.”
“Something slapped him.”
“Na winch dey chase am.”
They dragged him to a prayer house.
Poured oil.
Chanted.
Called prophets.
By the time they thought of going to the hospital…
He was gone.
But it wasn’t a demon.
It was a stroke.
A hypertensive crisis.
Blood pressure so high, his brain said enough.
That’s how it happens.
Silently.
No announcement.
No permission.
And the signs were always there.
He complained of headaches.
He was always tired.
He didn’t sleep well.
He was always angry.
He peed 3–4 times at night.
He had ringing in his ears.
He ignored it. Everyone around him ignored it.
Because he looked healthy.
Slim. Working. Providing. Laughing.
Until his arteries said, “No more.”
Let’s be honest —
A lot of Nigerians are walking around with undiagnosed high blood pressure.
And they’re joking with their diet.
Drinking soda. Eating bread. Skipping protein. Living on noodles and prayer.
No vegetables. No eggs. No salt. No fat. Just fear and carbs.
You think because you’re slim you’re safe?
High blood pressure doesn’t care about your size.
It cares about your lifestyle.
And your ignorance.
If your pressure is always above 130/80, your blood vessels are screaming.
If you always feel tired, hot, dizzy, or forgetful, that’s a whisper from your heart.
The body doesn’t just collapse.
It warns.
Then it whispers.
Then it shouts.
Then it crashes.
Don’t wait until your bathroom becomes your grave.
Don’t wait until your family blames “village people.”
It might not be spiritual.
It might just be stew without protein, soup without vegetables, and a life full of unhealed stress.
Let’s stop this madness.
Check your BP.
Eat like you want to live.
Take your health seriously.
Don’t let ignorance kill you, then fear bury you.
And don’t forget to reach out for a diet plan. Share and tag your friends.
