Day 9: Supplication (Duʿāʾ)
Theme: The Connection
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Duʿāʾ(Supplication) is the essence of worship." (Sunan at-Tirmidhi)

Reflection: Prayer is our lifeline to the Creator. It is the moment when the finite meets the Infinite and our deepest needs are presented before the One who hears every whisper and answers every sincere call.

Metaphor: The Doorbell You do not ring a doorbell once and walk away; you wait with hope and expectation. Likewise, continue knocking on the door of Allah's mercy through persistent duʿāʾ, trusting that He responds at the best time and in the best way.

Self-Examination (Muḥāsabah): Do I turn to Allah only in times of difficulty, or do I call upon Him in every situation with complete trust and certainty?

Prayer: My Creator, I have no helper, protector, or disposer of my affairs except You. Teach me to call upon You with sincerity, humility, and unwavering trust. Accept my supplications, answer them in the way that is best for my dīn and my dunya, and never allow my heart to lose hope in Your mercy. Aamiin.

Day 8: Humility
Theme: Inner Modesty
The Prophet ﷺ said: "No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises him in status." (Sahih Muslim)

Metaphor: The Full vs. Empty Vessel An empty vessel makes the most noise, but a vessel filled with water (or wisdom) remains steady and silent.

Self-Examination (Muḥāsabah)
Do I find it difficult to accept feedback, or do I recognize that I am a work in progress, always in need of learning and self-improvement?

Prayer: My Creator, I am human and may, at times, consciously or unconsciously, allow pride to creep into my words or actions. O Allah, protect me from pride, arrogance, and self-admiration. Grant me a heart that is humble before You, gentle toward Your creation, and always willing to accept the truth. Aamiin.

“All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often
(Related by At·Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

Metaphor
The U-Turn
A wise driver who realizes he is travelling in the wrong direction does not continue simply because he has already covered many kilometres. He makes a U-turn at the earliest safe opportunity. Likewise, the longer we remain on the road of sin, the farther we drift from Allah. The best time to turn back is now.

Self-Examination (Muḥāsabah)
Is there a sin I continue to justify, a habit I keep postponing to abandon, or a relationship with Allah that I know needs sincere repair?

Prayer
My Creator, You know my weaknesses, my hidden faults, and the sins that weigh upon my heart. I turn to You in sincere repentance. Forgive my open and hidden sins, accept my tawbah, purify my heart, and grant me the strength to abandon whatever displeases You. Never allow me to despair of Your mercy, for You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. Aamiin

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth, and the One above the heavens will show mercy to you." (Sunan al-Tirmidhī)
Metaphor
The Ripple Effect
When a small stone is dropped into a calm lake, it creates ripples that travel far beyond the point of impact. Likewise, one kind word, a smile, a helping hand, or a sincere prayer may continue to benefit people in ways we may never witness. Allah alone knows how far a single act of kindness can reach.

Will my words and actions today make someone's burden lighter or heavier?

Prayer
My Creator, You know the lasting impact that kindness can have on hearts and lives. O Allah, soften my heart toward Your creation and fill it with mercy and compassion. Make my words a source of comfort, my hands a means of help, and my presence a blessing wherever I go. Show me mercy as I strive to show mercy to others. Āmīn

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

This is to officially remind all NASFAT Youth Wing Lagos Zone 2 Branches, Executives, and Members of our forthcoming Monthly Zonal General Meeting, scheduled as follows:

📅 Date: Saturday, 25th July, 2026 (10th Safar, 1448AH)
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM Prompt
📍 Venue: NASFAT Iyana Ipaja Branch
🏢 Address: 5–7 NASFAT Crescent, Off Jolaosho Street, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

This meeting is an important gathering where we will deliberate on matters concerning the growth and development of the Zone, review activities, receive reports from branches, and discuss plans for upcoming programmes.

Kindly Note:
✅ All YBEC members and all Zone 2 members are expected to be in attendance.
✅ Branches should come prepared with their monthly reports for submission.
✅ Outstanding monthly dues should be paid before or at the meeting.
✅ Members are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a prompt commencement by 10:00 AM.

Your presence, active participation, and commitment are essential to the continued progress of our Zone. Let us all be punctual and come prepared to contribute meaningfully to the success of the meeting.

Day 5— Trust in Allah (Tawakkul)
Theme: Reliance on Allah
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: They go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Reflection
Tawakkul is neither passivity nor wishful thinking. It is making every lawful effort within our ability while entrusting the outcome to Allah, whose knowledge, wisdom, and power encompass all things. A believer works diligently but finds peace in knowing that Allah is the Best of Planners.

Metaphor
The Farmer and the Rain
A farmer ploughs the land, plants the seeds, removes the weeds, and cares for the crops. Yet, no amount of effort can command the rain or make a seed grow. The harvest ultimately depends on Allah. Likewise, we are responsible for sincere effort, while Allah alone grants the results.

Self-Examination (Muḥāsabah)
Am I spending more energy worrying about what I cannot control than improving what Allah has placed within my control?

Prayer
My Creator, You know that my strength, knowledge, and ability are limited. I can only strive with the opportunities and abilities You have granted me, while the outcomes rest entirely with You. O Allah, I place all my affairs in Your hands. Grant me the wisdom to exert my best effort, the patience to await Your decree, and the peace of heart that comes from knowing You are the Best of Planners. Aamiin

Theme: Purity of Heart
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Indeed, Allah does not look at your bodies or your appearances, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds." (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

Metaphor
The Root of the Tree
A tree may appear tall, beautiful, and full of leaves, but if its roots are diseased, it will eventually wither and fall. Likewise, our worship, charity, and service may appear impressive to people, but without sincerity, they lose their true value before Allah. Ikhlāṣ is the hidden root that sustains every righteous deed.

Self-Examination (Muḥāsabah)
If no one were to praise, acknowledge, or even know about my good deeds, would I still perform them with the same sincerity and commitment for Allah's sake alone?

Prayer
My Creator, You know my heart better than I know myself. I am human and naturally appreciate recognition and praise, but do not let my desire for people's approval become greater than my desire for Yours. O Allah, purify my heart from showing off (riyā'), hypocrisy, and insincerity. Make every word I speak and every deed I perform sincerely for Your sake alone, and accept them with Your infinite mercy. Aamiin
