C&S @ 100 REFLECTION OF WHO WE ARE AS EARTHLY CHERUB
*Living as the Heavenly Ones Do* *Text: Ezekiel Chapter 10*
Today, we—*the entire body of the Cherubim and Seraphim*—gather in joyful celebration to honor the establishment of the *Cherubim arm of this sacred Order*. It is not merely a historical remembrance, but a *spiritual reminder* of who we are and who we are called to be.
The *Cherubim*, as revealed in Ezekiel Chapter 10, are not just heavenly beings; they are models of *divine order, obedience, and holy purpose*. As earthly members, we are called to mirror these godly qualities and live as *heavenly ambassadors on earth*.
Below are lessons we draw from their manifestation in Ezekiel’s vision:
*Unity and Oneness with Divine Purpose*
📖 *“When they moved, they went in any one of the four directions... without turning as they went.”* – *Ezekiel 10:11*
The Cherubim reflect the perfect harmony of the *Holy Trinity*. Their movements are synchronized, undivided, and deliberate—just like the *oneness between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit*. The wheels beside them moved in perfect alignment.
*Lesson:* We, as a body, must move in unity—no division, no self-direction, only alignment with God’s will and with one another.
*Dominion and God-given Strength*
📖 *“Each of the cherubim had four faces: one was the face of a cherub, the second the face of a human being, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.”* – *Ezekiel 10:14*
These faces are symbolic of *divine dominion and excellence*:
*Man* – Wisdom and reasoning
*Lion* – Boldness and authority
*Eagle* – Vision and spiritual elevation
*Cherub* – Holiness and loyalty to God’s throne
*Lesson:* As God’s people, we are meant to carry these strengths—*wisdom, courage, vision, and purity*—in everything we do.
*Revelation and Full Awareness*
📖 *“Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes.”* – *Ezekiel 10:12*
The eyes all over the Cherubim signify *heavenly perception*—nothing escapes their awareness. They are sensitive to divine signals and alert to heavenly directions.
*Lesson:* We must be spiritually sensitive, discerning in all things, and ready to receive divine insight and instruction.
*Obedience to the Spirit*
📖 *“When the cherubim moved, the wheels moved beside them... for the spirit of the living creature was in them.”* – *Ezekiel 10:17*
This reveals a *perfect synchronization* between the Spirit, the being, and the instrument (wheel = power/movement).
The cherubim do not act on impulse but *follow the movement of the Spirit*.
*Lesson:* In our worship, service, and decisions, we must be *Spirit-led*, not self-led. Our lives, actions, and even gifts must move only at the leading of the Holy Spirit.
*The Burning Coals – A Call to Purity Through Suffering*
📖 *“Then one of the cherubim reached out his hand into the fire... and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed in linen.”* – *Ezekiel 10:7*
The *burning coals* symbolize *refinement, trial, and sanctification*. Just as fire purifies gold, the saints are often refined through *suffering and sacrifice*.
Yet this fire, passed on from heaven, is not to destroy but to *empower, purify, and transform*.
*Lesson:* As heavenly soldiers, we must not resist the burning coals of discipline or trial—they are *part of our spiritual growth and calling*.
*Final Word* The Cherubim are not just symbolic beings. They are *blueprints* for heavenly character, heavenly service, and heavenly alignment.
As we celebrate this Cherubim Anniversary, let us remember: We are not ordinary men and women. We are *earthly reflections of heavenly order*. Let our lives reflect the *oneness, strength, discernment, obedience, and purity* of the Cherubim, that we may truly serve God in spirit and in truth.
