Alexander Bada

Episode 1: Before Oshoffa, there was a life

✍️ BY THE REPUBLIC OF OSHOFFA

Before becoming one of the most important men in the Church of Celestial Christianity, Alexander Bada already had a life.

He had studied.
He had worked.
He had a professional future ahead of him.

After his studies at Ilesha Grammar School, he obtained his certificate in 1949 and entered the workforce. He worked notably at Nigerian Breweries Limited, in the stock control department.

At that time, nothing yet suggested that his name would one day be associated with the global leadership of Celestial Christianity.

Then came 1952.

Bada discovered the Church of Celestial Christianity in Makoko, Lagos, under the influence of Senior Evangelist Samuel O. Ajanlekoko.

And something changed.

He did not content himself with attending the Church as a simple believer. His commitment gradually became so deep that he eventually abandoned his job to devote himself entirely to the work.

It was a significant choice.

Leaving a professional position to join a Church still young, whose future was far from certain, certainly required great conviction.

But Bada had yet seen nothing.

For in 1955, his journey was about to take on a new dimension.

The Founding Pastor SBJ Oshoffa noticed him, trusted him, and employed him full-time in the work.

The young man who had once had a job in a brewery was now about to enter another story.

A story that would take him much further than he could possibly imagine.

But what did Oshoffa see in Alexander Bada to grant him such confidence?

This is where Bada's ascent truly begins.
