Maybe It wasn't Meant for you, Maybe you just were not ready for it. Perharps it was not what you needed, or what your circumstances and beliefs made you believe you wanted.

Whatever the reason it may be, that God held it back from you, Believe that what is best for you, is what God wants.

*The Shoe Man Poem*

My alarm went off
It was Sunday again.
I was sleepy and tired
My one day to sleep in.
But the guilt I would feel
The rest of the day
Would have been too much
So I'd go and I'd pray.

I showered and shaved
I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat
In a pew just in time.
Bowing my head in prayer
As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me
Touching my own. I sighed.
With plenty of room on either side
I thought, "Why must our soles touch?"
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine
But it didn't bother him much.

A prayer began: "Our Father"...

I thought, "This man with the shoes
has no pride.
They're dusty, worn, and scratched
Even worse, there are holes on the side!"

"Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on.

The shoe man said
a quiet "Amen."
I tried to focus on the prayer
But my thoughts were on his shoes again.
Aren't we supposed to look our best
When walking through that door?
"Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought,
Glancing toward the floor.

Then the prayer was ended
And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud
Sounding proud as he sang.
His voice lifted the rafters
His hands were raised high.
The Lord could surely hear
The shoe man's voice from the sky.

It was time for the offering
And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached
Into his pockets so deep.
I saw what was pulled out
What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft "clink"
as when silver hits tin.

The sermon really bored me
To tears, and that's no lie
It was the same for the shoe man
For tears fell from his eyes.
At the end of the service
As is the custom here
We must greet new visitors
And show them all good cheer.

But I felt moved somehow
And wanted to meet the shoe man
So after the closing prayer
I reached over and shook his hand.
He was old and his skin was dark
And his hair was truly a mess
But I thanked him for coming
For being our guest.

***To Battle Giants***

What if you were asked to face your greatest fear? I'm sure you'd break a sweat, your feet may tremble and standing upright might be a task. The fact that your heart will pound so hard that your courage won't be found, is a true depiction of how scared you maybe in the face of your fears. How then do you battle these Giants?

David was only a small shepherd boy with a stone and a sling, he had no armour nor a weapon fit for a warrior, but amongst an entire army filled with soldiers of various size, strength and skill, he alone fought and conquered his fears.

Goliath was huge, scary, and vicious, he had a reputation of a destroyer, his words caused great trembling and distress, it caused sleepless nights and constant panic, so no one attempted to confront him until David did.

The glaring Truth is that, individually we see our troubles the way the Israelites saw the giant, each time we are confronted by the issues of life we tremble in fear, panic and run away, never attempting to confront those fears, we see those problems as humanly impossible to conquer and truly they are because without Christ we can never overcome our fears, we may shy away from the fight and pretend our troubles ain't there, but when we come out of our fantasies we realise our fears are still real.

One thing David realized was that he wasn't alone, he realized he had a weapon that was greater than his challenge, he realized he had God.
The Bible said that "He that is in you is Greater than he that is in the World" 1 John 4:4. So David was assured of victory even before he made the sling, all because he had total Faith in his God.

God has assured us that He will be with us no matter where we go or what we face, only if we are strong and courageous, not being afraid or dismayed "Joshua 1:9" we just only need conquer our fears by building our faith.

Goliath didn't actually pose a threat neither does our worries and fears, what poses as the real threat and danger to our fulfilment is our own disbelief and Lack of trust in God's capabilities.

For to battle Giants, we ought to have a better and in-depth understanding of whom our God is.

How well do you know him?
Can you describe what he means to you?
Because to me, He isn't the missing piece that makes me whole, he is the perfect being in whom I'm found.

God doesn't hate you he simply just hates the sin, if you decide today to do away with your sins he will gladly have you back irrespective of your past, because he loves you.

I once heard about a story of a shepherd boy who often takes his sheep up to the mountains to graze. On this peculiar day he woke up just like every other morning to take his sheep up to the mountains. the night before, a great storm with heavy rainfall occurred in his very remote town, so he was a bit sceptical to go up the mountains but knowing fully well his sheep would starve, he chose to go anyways.
He got up the mountains and had his sheep graze on the green grass while he went towards the other side to watch the Beautiful view the mountain had to offer, but most importantly to watch the train that was scheduled to pass by in about a few minutes time (the shepherd boy had always dreamed of leaving his small town to live a better life someday in the city).
On getting to the other side he observed in horror that the storm had caused the railway to break apart, no one had heard or seen the damage to the railway except him and before he could turn back to inform anyone of the incident, he knew the train scheduled would already have left the station and there won't be enough time, so he had to stop a train by himself.
Not long, he saw the train coming from afar, he quickly made up his mind and went down to the railway track, he ran a few distance away from the broken part towards the train in the hope to give the train driver enough time to stop.
The driver of the train coming with full speed saw the little boy from afar and blew his horn to warn the lad of the coming danger but the boy stood his ground and kept waving for the driver to stop the train, "this lad must be stupid or mad" the driver thought while still blowing the horn for the kid to get out of the way, " I do pray this train stops in time, all those lives must not be lost" the boy kept praying knowing fully well there was no way he could survive if the train doesn't stop in time because on either side of him was a mountain and an abyss.
The driver seeing that the boy wasn't going to move out of the way was forced to bring the train to an halt but the speed of the train was so much that it had to cover a couple of more distance before completely coming to a stop, but unfortunately the train didn't stop in time, the little shepherd boy was crushed underneath the train.
The disturbance alerted every one on board and after knowing or hearing what happened some persons called the boy stupid, suicidal and foolish, as they took turns insulting and also showing sympathy for him, the driver trying to understand what happened walked towards the front of the train and behold he saw the great divide of the railway track, then it dawned on him that this little shepherd boy wasn't suicidal or stupid but he had sacrificed himself just so they might live.
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice by giving up himself to be killed just so that we may be saved from the destruction of hell, he placed himself between us and eternal condemnation knowing it would cost him is life....a lot of people are rushing to hell and fast but Jesus is standing in their way hoping they will heed to him and just stop!
Jesus loves you, listen to his voice, heed to his instructions, make a choice to stop anything and everything that would make you miss out from truly experiencing the Beautiful eternal feeling of the greatest love of all time, ACCEPT JESUS TODAY!

Being a Christian doesn't mean everything is going to be rosy or that your life would immediately be as beautiful has a daisy, you would definitely have to deal with some thorns and sometimes have some falls, but being a Christian is all about the peace you experience through the storms and the assurance that Jesus would go through with you never letting go of you and that is the greatest assurance to having a beautiful life even beyond our physical world.

Don't let anyone ever tell you that you are not worthy of God's Love, not even yourself, you are deserving of his love, there is no depth of darkness his loving light can not reach, no amount of sin his blood can not wash, if you decide in your heart that you want salvation he will be happy to welcome you.

Start Over

When you’ve trusted Jesus and walked his way
When you’ve felt his hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way,
start over.
When you’ve made your plans and they’ve gone awry
When you’ve tried your best and there’s no more try
When you’ve failed yourself and you don’t know why,
start over.
When you’ve told your friends what you plan to do
When you’ve trusted them and they didn’t come through
And now you’re all alone and it’s up to you,
start over.
When you’ve failed your kids and they’re grown and gone
When you’ve done your best but it’s turned out wrong
And now your grandchildren have come along,
start over.
When you’ve prayed to God so you’ll know his will
When you’ve prayed and prayed and you don’t know still
When you want to stop cause you’ve had your fill,
start over.
When you think you’re finished and want to quit
When you’ve bottomed out in life’s deepest pit
When you’ve tried and tried to get out of it,
start over.
When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and you’re feeling blue
God gives a January just for you,
start over.
Starting over means “Victories Won”
Starting over means “A Race Well Run”
Starting over means “The Lords’ Will Done”
We need not just sit there … START OVER.

¤¤A Call From The Almighty God¤¤

This story involves a pastor of a storefront church. The pastor’s church is called The Almighty God Tabernacle. On a Saturday night not long ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn’t answer the phone. The pastor let it ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn’t answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.
When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn’t answered before, but she said that it hadn’t rang at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and didn’t give it a second thought.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he’d used that Saturday night.
The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he’d called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn’t figure out what the guy was talking about. Then the guy said, “It rang and rang, but I didn’t answer. “The pastor then remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he intended to call his wife.
The man said, “That’s OK. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was planning to commit su***de on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, ‘God if you’re there, and you don’t want me to do this, give me a sign now.’ At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, ‘Almighty God’. I was too afraid to answer!”

Have You Tasted My Jesus?

Author Unknown

At the University of Chicago Divinity School each year they have what is called “Baptist Day”. It is a day when all the Baptists in the area are invited to the school because they want the Baptist dollars to keep coming in.
On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every “Baptist Day” the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education enter.
One year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr. Tillich spoke for 2 ½ hours proving that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book. He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who in fact, never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions. After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium.
Docta Tillich, I got one question, he said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it.
“Docta Tillich (CRUNCH, MUNCH), My question is a simple question (CRUNCH, MUNCH). Now, I ain’t never read them books you read (CRUNCH, MUNCH) and I can’t recite the Scriptures in the original Greek (CRUNCH, MUNCH). I don’t know nothin’ about Niebuhr and Heidegger (CRUNCH, MUNCH)…” He finished the apple.
“All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate, was it bitter or sweet?”
Dr. Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven’t tasted your apple.
The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly, “Neither have you tasted my Jesus.” The 1000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The auditorium erupted with applause and cheers.
Dr. Tillich thanked his audience and promptly left the platform.
Have you tasted Jesus? Please pass this on Saints! God has risen, and he’s coming back one day!
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the resurrection that your faith in Him brings. Psalm 34:8

Grace is you doing what you can and God doing what you cannot do, it is simply Gods strength manifesting in your weakness, it doesnt matter if you are dressed in the most expensive manner but when grace is involved it causes men to address you well non the less, grace distinguishes you from others giving you a crown amongst the crowds for God doesnt give you what you deserve but what he reserves.

Happy sunday and have a Graceful week ahead.
