***To Battle Giants***
What if you were asked to face your greatest fear? I'm sure you'd break a sweat, your feet may tremble and standing upright might be a task. The fact that your heart will pound so hard that your courage won't be found, is a true depiction of how scared you maybe in the face of your fears. How then do you battle these Giants?
David was only a small shepherd boy with a stone and a sling, he had no armour nor a weapon fit for a warrior, but amongst an entire army filled with soldiers of various size, strength and skill, he alone fought and conquered his fears.
Goliath was huge, scary, and vicious, he had a reputation of a destroyer, his words caused great trembling and distress, it caused sleepless nights and constant panic, so no one attempted to confront him until David did.
The glaring Truth is that, individually we see our troubles the way the Israelites saw the giant, each time we are confronted by the issues of life we tremble in fear, panic and run away, never attempting to confront those fears, we see those problems as humanly impossible to conquer and truly they are because without Christ we can never overcome our fears, we may shy away from the fight and pretend our troubles ain't there, but when we come out of our fantasies we realise our fears are still real.
One thing David realized was that he wasn't alone, he realized he had a weapon that was greater than his challenge, he realized he had God.
The Bible said that "He that is in you is Greater than he that is in the World" 1 John 4:4. So David was assured of victory even before he made the sling, all because he had total Faith in his God.
God has assured us that He will be with us no matter where we go or what we face, only if we are strong and courageous, not being afraid or dismayed "Joshua 1:9" we just only need conquer our fears by building our faith.
Goliath didn't actually pose a threat neither does our worries and fears, what poses as the real threat and danger to our fulfilment is our own disbelief and Lack of trust in God's capabilities.
For to battle Giants, we ought to have a better and in-depth understanding of whom our God is.
