*The Privilege of Knowing God*

*Text* : Psalms 19:1-6

Beloved there is no greater privilege than knowing God—and no greater tragedy than missing out on developing a relationship with Him.

While on earth, both believers and unbelievers enjoy the benefits of God’s kindness (Matthew 5:45). Some people seem unaware of what Scripture teaches about eternity. Others have simply never heard the good news. Yet  Romans 1:18-20 makes clear that everyone has access to evidence of God’s existence. Creation itself—its design, beauty, and order—point to a Creator.

God also reveals Himself through the human conscience (Romans 2:14-15). Even people without access to Scripture recognize that certain behaviors—like murder, theft, and betrayal—are wrong. There’s a moral law written on every heart.

And for those willing to look deeper into the testimonies of Scripture, we have God’s fullest revelation: His Son Jesus Christ (John 14:7-9). The life of our Lord—who was fully God and fully man—perfectly demonstrates the Father’s heart toward us.

The Almighty has made Himself known through creation, through the sense of morality written on your conscience, and most fully through Scripture and Jesus’ life. God desires a relationship with you. Answer with a seeking heart, and watch as He reveals Himself to you.

*At Calvary Today*

*Text* : Hebrews 10:10-14

Beloved, If asked what took place on Good Friday, many people could list the events that unfolded at Calvary—Christ was nailed to the cross, Roman soldiers gambled for His garments, and darkness covered the land. But far more was going on than the eye could see: At the cross, sin was judged.

In the garden of Eden, God warned that disobedience carried a severe penalty (Genesis 2:17). So from the start, His judgment of sin was prophesied, and later it was also pictured in the sacrificial system of the Old Testament. Under that system, each transgression required an animal’s blood to be sprinkled on the altar. The severity of the penalty—loss of a life—was a graphic way for our holy God to communicate how offensive and grievous sin is. It was a foreshadowing of the Lamb of God, who would come to pay for the sin of the world (John 1:29).

On the cross, Jesus Christ was what a lamb was on the altar—but with a significant difference: Under the old covenant, every time sin was committed, another animal had to die. Jesus, however, willingly offered Himself once for all to atone for the sin of the whole world (Hebrews 7:27).

*The Holy Spirit, Our Guide*

*Text* : John 16:12-15

Beloved, All of God’s children are on a journey. And as we travel through life toward our eternal home, we will face many choices. People in the road will challenge and frustrate us. In such circumstances, how can we know which way to go?

Jesus promised to give us an internal and ever-present Guide (John 14:16). Starting at the moment of salvation, everyone who trusts in the Savior is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who promises to lead believers into all the truth (16:13). We’ve no reason to fear, because He will direct us. However, while the Spirit’s leadership is always right, at times our reception isn’t clear. If that happens and we’re tempted to tolerate sin in one area, we shouldn’t expect to receive His guidance in another.

Sin does to our understanding of the Lord’s clear direction what a magnet does to the needle of a compass. It misleads us, pulling us away from the clear path God has planned, just as the magnetic field draws the needle away from true north.

When a decision is unclear, ask yourself questions like, Will Christ be glorified in this? or Will this draw me closer to the Lord? If the answer is no, then don’t follow that path, because the Holy Spirit is not guiding you there. His leading always aligns with Scripture and accomplishes God’s perfect plan.

*Prayer* : Dear heavenly Father, any decision that I am going to take today that will not bring glory or draw me close to you, please removed it from my life in Jesus name I pray Amen.
