There is no burden you can pour on God that He will need therapy for.

You see, um... One of my heroes is C.S. Lewis, and he explained Eros and Philia in a very profound way.

He said Eros, which is romantic love, is two people standing opposite each other, looking at each other in amazement.

But Philia is different. It's two people standing side by side, looking at an object, and then looking at each other and saying, "You too?" And the other person says, "Me too." He calls that friendship.

Now, how do we have friendship with God?

Because He's far above in Heaven, and we are dust. You know, who dash monkey?

How?

How in the world do we want to have friendship with this eternal, great, powerful, loving, perfect Being?

Jesus comes.

And Jesus' coming gives us the opportunity to qualify to have friendship with God.

And what's that friendship?

They can break your heart, you can experience betrayal, and you can look at Jesus and say, "You too?"

And He says, "Me too. I experienced it too."

You can say, "I just experienced loss."

He looks at you and says, "You too?"

And He says, "Me too. Me too."

We have that friendship.

And that friendship is what people actually call fellowship.

It's not, you know, when people hear, "Let's fellowship with God," it sounds very mechanical, like, "It's time to pray. It's time to..."

But fellowship with God means God's interests interest me, and I just want to sit with Him.

I want to talk to Him.

I want to pour out my heart.

In fact, if you understand what I'm saying, you'd understand that telling God you can't pray is already praying.

"Ah, Lord, I can't pray."

Because prayer is simply communication with God.

"God, I'm really struggling to pray. I need help praying. I need You..."

You're already praying! You're already praying!

Instead of murmuring and talking to people who will carry your gist, yeah.

You see this life: "Who likes you? Who said what about you? Who..."

So, why not just pour it out to God?

You see, there is no burden you can pour on God that He will need therapy for.

Yea Abi?

The Bible says, "The government shall be upon His shoulders."

There's a song that says, "Oh, what needless pain we bear..."

Sometimes, we carry what God is asking us to give Him.

Talk to God. Pour out your heart. He can handle it.

There are some prayers that will not be answered. I don’t know how to lie to people; I can only speak the truth.

Let me give you an example of what the Lord told me, I wrote it down, and you can check for yourself.

The Lord said:

"You cannot be trusting God for a financial breakthrough while you are a womanizer."

If God gives you money while you are living like that, He isn't blessing you, He is enabling you. You are already broke and womanizing; imagine what you would do if you actually had the money!

You cannot trust God for favor in fraud. You are on the wrong mountain!

You cannot tune in to a prayer line, trusting God for the "fruit of the womb" from a man who is not your husband, just because you want to tie him down. I am speaking prophetically right now, yes, I am talking to you. That is not a blessing from God.

Listen to me: People don't have the fear of God anymore.

This is not just another prayer line where you join in and blindly shout "Amen!" Not every "amen" will be answered here. It is only "amen" according to God’s will and God’s precepts.

Are you listening to me?

GOD DOESN’T JUST WANT TO LIVE IN YOU—HE WANTS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A CONDUCIVE HOME.

If you move into a new house, the house doesn’t clean itself. Am I correct?

The house doesn’t buy furniture for itself. The person who moves into the house furnishes it according to his own taste.

That is a simple picture of what the Holy Spirit does when He comes into our lives.

When the Holy Spirit comes into you, He begins to furnish your life with the fruit of the Spirit.

Love becomes His chair.
Joy becomes His television.
Peace becomes His comfort.

I’m just trying to make it simple.

The fruit of the Spirit is what the Holy Spirit produces in us, while the gifts of the Spirit are what He works through us.

The fruit makes His dwelling in us conducive. The gifts make His presence through us beneficial to others.

And this is where many believers miss it.

You can have the gifts without developing the fruit.

You can bless people with your anointing and hurt them with your character.

You can heal somebody from physical pain and wound them emotionally.

You can prophesy accurately and still treat people terribly.

You can preach powerfully and have no patience.

You can cast out demons and still struggle to love people.

God is not only interested in what He can do THROUGH you. He is also interested in what He is producing IN you.

The gifts may announce your ministry, but the fruit reveals your maturity.

Don't become so powerful that people encounter your anointing but are wounded by your character.

Let the Holy Spirit furnish your life.

Let Him produce love.
Let Him produce joy.
Let Him produce peace.
Let Him produce patience.
Let Him produce kindness.
Let Him produce goodness.
Let Him produce faithfulness.
Let Him produce gentleness.
Let Him produce self-control.

Because it is possible to be a blessing to people through your gifts while becoming a burden to them through your character.

And God wants both your gifts and your character to reflect Him.

You don't have to pretend with God. You can talk to Him about what you're really feeling.

The Bible says we should cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us. Honestly, you can offload on God. Your burden is not too heavy for Him. God doesn't need therapy.

In fact, the Bible calls Him Parakletos, the Helper.

Don't be forming for God. I always say this: At least, don't form for the One who formed you.

You don't go to God and start saying things you know you don't mean, lying to yourself while you're bleeding inside.

Some people are offended with God, but they are still praying. That's what I'm saying.

Maybe you're disappointed. Maybe you have questions. And yet you say, "They told me I should pray for one hour every day," and then you start praying in tongues.

But if your soul is disquieted within you, why not pause and talk to Him about it?

Say:

"Lord, I believed You for this. I believe I received a word from You, but it didn't work out. It didn't happen the way I expected. I don't understand."

That's prayer.

Telling God, "I don't feel like praying" is prayer because you are communicating with Him.

You are talking to God.

And that's one thing you can learn from Job: you can complain, but when you are complaining to God, it becomes prayer.

Think about that.

"Lord, I'm struggling to pray."

Even that is a prayer.

You don't have to manufacture spirituality in God's presence.

Be honest with Him.

And here's something else: see your devotion as a time to receive, not merely as a time to give.

You're not coming to God every morning to perform for Him.

You're coming to receive from him

Sometimes, it seems like the people of this world operate in faith more than believers do.

You will see an unbeliever sell his car to start a business because he believes in his vision.

A believer may struggle to do the same because we like to preserve ourselves.

You will see a non-believer sell his stocks or even sell his house because he believes in what he is building.

But a believer may hear God say, “I will bless this business,” and conclude, “Since God said it, there is no need to sell anything.

God will bring the money.”

And they remain stuck.

Don't miss this: God promised the children of Israel the Promised Land, yet some of them never entered it.

So, just because God has promised you something does not mean you will automatically experience it.

If you don't become the person who can possess the promise, you may die in the wilderness on your way to it.

God said it would be an 11-day journey, but because of their disobedience and unbelief, they spent 40 years in the wilderness, and many of them still died without entering the Promised Land.

A promise from God is not a substitute for your participation.

In other words, prophecy is an invitation; your faith is what gives it manifestation.

God can speak about what He wants to do, but you still have a part to play.

The problem is that sometimes we select what we want from the principles of faith.

We understand faith when it comes to receiving, but we struggle with faith when it comes to sacrifice, obedience, risk, discipline, and action.

We want the promise, but we don't always want the process.

Faith doesn't just believe that God will do something.

Faith also responds when God tells you what to do.

You don't have to punish yourself to prove to God that you're sorry.

You don't have to beg God to forgive you.

You receive forgiveness by faith.

"I'm struggling with an addiction, and I feel terrible.

I don't even know how I got to this point. And Pastor, you want me to come here and pray, and you expect God to hear me? I lied on my way here.

With this same mouth, I lied.

Will God really listen to me?"

If you have ever had that thought in your heart, listen carefully.

The fact that you feel bad about what you have done can be evidence that something is changing in your nature.

But feeling bad is not enough.

You have to be washed by the blood.

If you don't understand this, you may begin to think that the reason God doesn't answer your prayers is because of what you have done.

Some people pray with an evil conscience.

In other words, they pray while disqualifying themselves from receiving from God.

Some of us behave like Judas.

We have done something wrong, and then we want to repay God for our sin.

Instead of repentance, we practice penance.

"Because I did this, I won't eat for two days. I'll punish myself with fasting.

I'll make myself suffer because of what I have done."

There's nothing wrong with fasting, but the purpose of fasting is not to punish yourself for your sin.

The purpose is to seek God and hear His direction for how to come out of that situation.

When someone has an evil conscience and approaches God through penance, they are essentially saying, "I want to pay for my sin."

You can't.

You cannot pay for your sin.

Shaming yourself cannot pay for it. Condemning yourself cannot pay for it.

Punishing yourself cannot pay for it.

You may tell yourself, "Let me suffer. Let me be ashamed.

Let me make myself feel terrible because of what I have done."

It is still not enough.

Forgiveness of sin is a legal matter that has already been settled by Christ

You don't earn forgiveness by suffering.

You don't buy forgiveness through fasting.

You don't receive forgiveness because you have cried enough.

You can't beg God to forgive you. You receive forgiveness by faith.

Christ has already paid the price.

So, repent.

Believe.

Receive the cleansing.

And then get up and walk in the freedom Christ has provided.
