Every altar has a story.
On June 30, 2019, we started Ladies That Pray in my boss’ office in Oregun, alongside Sis Florence Yusuf as our Guest, No crowd, No noise, Just women gathering to pray.
As God led, we grew. We held virtual prayer meetings with guests joining from Abuja, Liverpool and Lagos, teaching and praying around themes like “Profiting by the Word: A Woman of Faith.”
We continued monthly, obeying every instruction. We gathered physically for ladies’ prayer meetings, including one titled “The Mystery of Jael.” We also shared fellowship beyond prayer hosting a round-table hangout, Wine & Dine, with plenty to eat, drink and connect as sisters.
Our last prayer meeting was in May 2023, with the theme God’s Speed. After that, there was a pause. Not because prayer lost its power but because God was doing a deeper work.
Over time, the questions came:
“When are we praying again?”
“Are the ladies’ prayers coming back?”
And honestly, the answers didn’t come immediately.
But recently, the instruction became clear and undeniable: Go back. Build again. Pray again.
This return is not about events titles or marital status.
Ladies That Pray is an altar.
A space for women who feel the quiet or loud nudge back to prayer, alignment and community.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord. -Malachi 3:7
We will begin virtually and all meeting times and physical gathering dates will be shared.
If your heart is stirred, this is your invitation 🔥
The altar is calling and we are answering.
