Let's Exercise Restraint and Common Sense
Praise be to Allah; may the blessing and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his household and companions altogether.
To proceed:
It is an established fact in the Sunnah that no Salafi scholar is infallible, however great he is. Similarly, it is established that there is no scholar upon Sunnah however, great his knowledge is except that when he makes a mistake or falls in an error the truth must not be compromised and strangled in other to defend his personality; his error should not be swept under the carpet; it must be refuted and warned against, even if he has done it for a reason best known to him.
For instance, 'Ubayd Ash-Shuuneezi participated in the janaazah of Bishr Al-Mareesi and was rebuked for this by the great scholars living in the same area with him. However, when listened to his reason for doing that, they all excused him.
When a Sunni scholar who is known for his steadfastness does something that is munkar we frown at it, however, we don't use that to nail and destroy him. For instance, the historical hug that al-imaam Ad-Daaraqutni gave to Al-Baaqilaani al-Ash-'ari was disapproved by the scholars of Sunnah, however, they did not destroy him with that because of what they knew of his thabaat on Sunnah; they rather faulted his action and looked for an excuse for him.
It is ridiculous to humiliate (just because of hugging) someone who has done ( and is still doing) series of rudood on the Ikhwaan and Tableeg in addition to his refutation on the 'Ashaa'irah, Maaturidiyah, Shi'ah, khawaarij et al.
He has ( they have) gone to honour his( their) boss from Saudi Arabia who invited them to a hotel. Alhamdu lillah the boss in one of the sittings there also criticized the Ikhwaan and Sayyid Qutb which is exactly the reason some Hizbiyyun have labeled some people as 1990 Salafis. And we hope ,by now, that the open defence of the Ikhwaan and the Tableeg by the organizer and his followers has come to an end.Wal hamdu lillah Rabbil 'aalamin.
On the other hand, some of those attacking the one(s) who hugged others have just concluded a seminar wherein they treated a book writen by Az-Zarnūji, a Maaturidi, and no body has risen up against them. And the truth is that the Daar man is not worse than the Maaturidi in aqeedah !!!
So let's exercise restraint and common sense.
