The Ascended Masters were once ordinary people living on earth just as we do. through many lifetimes of extraordinary devotion and striving, they reached a point of advanced spiritual attainment and eventually ascended back to their divine source. ce. Together they are united in what is called THE GREAT WHITE BROTHERHOOD - A body of highly advanced spiritual beings who work ceaselessly for the betterment of life on earth. The term "white" has nothing to with race, but refers to the tremendous white light that these masters have within their consciousness. Over the last Century and a half, the Ascended Masters have worked closely with various individual who could help them convey to spiritual seekers the timeless of the Great White Brotherhood. These individuals have functioned as amanuenses, messengers and witnesses. They've served the Masters in order to release a body of spiritual teaching that student have required at particular moment in earth history, building continually on what has been released through prophets and sages in past ages. This is called "progressive revelation" and is a unique and important part of this spiritual tradition. These teachings have not only provided continuity for ancient truths that never change, but have also addressed contemporary issues and world circumstances in which our souls are presently evolving. The Summit Lighthouse - The teachings of the ascended masters and this ancient wisdom tradition of progressive revelation provide a huge body of knowledge. These have been compiled and released under the auspices of The Summit Lighthouse- a modern-day "mystery school". The Great White Brotherhood has maintained such schools on the earth and on inner levels to clarify the mysteries of life and instruct students in how to victoriously pursue their individual spiritual path. The Summit Lighthouse follows the tradition that began with the Theosophical Society in the nineteenth century and continued into the twentieth century with Agni Yoga Society, the I AM Activity and the Bridge to Freedom. It has the express purpose of publishing these ancient teachings and new revelations that will carry students far beyond the new millennium. It was founded in 1958 by Mark L. Prophet under the direction of the Ascended Master El Morya. in the early days of Theosophy, this master was known as the Master M. Mark Prophet and his wife, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, served as the messengers for The Summit Lighthouse. Through these two messengers, referred to in the Book of Revelation as the "two witnesses", the ascended masters have released tremendous teachings. Messengers such as Mark and Elizabeth Prophet received the teachings of the ascended masters through what are called "dictations". Dictations are not the same as messages received by means of mediumship or channeling. When receiving a dictation, a messenger raises his or her consciousness to the level of the Higher Self, simultaneously, the ascended masters lowers his or her vibration to that level so that there is a meeting and blending of the two consciousness. The master then directs the messenger in what to speak. Additionally. the dictating master uses the messengers chakras, or spiritual centers, to release great waves of spiritual light. Many people experience this release in very tangible ways. The dictations contain profound teachings to assist humanity in its spiritual progress. The Summit Lighthouse compiles and releases these teachings of the ascended masters through print, video, audio and the internet. The Ascended Masters are our Elder Brothers and Teachers. It has ever been so. They, the way showers of our spirits' fiery destiny, have from the beginning held the vision of epochs of perfection we once knew.
