UTILIZING THE GLORY - Adding Value!!

Genesis 30:27 (AMP)
"...I pray you [do not go]; for I have learned by experience and from the omens in divination that the Lord has favored me with blessings on your account"

He was too precious and important to be let go of. He came into a house with nothing, met a few things and after more than 14 years of service, his master got to a point that he knew that any form of exit on the part of Jacob would lead to a sharp decline in the revenue of his cattle industry.
Infact, Laban had to tell Jacob in verse 28 (AMP)

"...State your salary and I will give it"

Just state it and I will pay you. This scripture states a clear, pin-point, accurate question to each and every one of us as Christians. "Have you gotten to a point that your boss at work would want to legitimately hold onto your services at all cost?". "Are you adding value at an unprecedented level that makes your co-workers know there's a supernatural force in your life?" If the answer is no, then something is wrong!

Someone might say, "Well my boss is just wicked, doesn't really even want my progress". Yea, true...but Jacob added value in the midst of being cheated by Laban 10 times (Gen 31:7)!! The glory of God upon Him was too bright, He couldn't hide it.

We need to be christians by deeds and not only profession. The bible must speak in our lives. The greatest tool we have in evangelism for the now is signs and wonders. People are tired of cheap (maybe expensive) talk...they want to see an explosion; a manifestation of sonship.

Romans 8:19
"..For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God"

Enough of lazy christians. You see; the glory and the blessing of Abraham was upon Jacob (Gen 28:4);which we all partarkers of via the sacrifice of Christ (Gal 3:14); but Jacob was a diligent man! He wasn't only a hard worker but a smart worker. No wonder the glory of God appeared vividly in his life.

Gen 31:6
"And ye know that with all my power I have served your father"

Gen 30:43
"And the man increased exceedingly and had much cattle....."

It is seen all through scriptures, that the manifestation of His glory is evident in our works; adding value. It happened with Jacob, also with Isaac, Abraham, Joseph, Noah, they were all value-adders. This leaves you and I with no excuse.

ACTION POINT: Manifest, show forth, add value!!!

LESS TALK, LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS!

This thing must be seen! Let's get down to business. Let's swing into action; engaging all the Godly weapons and promises at our disposal! Do you know why, If this thing isn't seen, the unbelievers won't know the difference. We would seem exactly the same.
Guys we serve a God that cannot lie, The Father of All lights who has given us all things freely to enjoy, a God of all comfort. Then what is our problem. Having such a personality as a Father and Friend with so little to show forth in our lives surely shows where the problem lies. US!! This thing must be seen!!!

I am talking about his glory. The beautiful thing about this is that when it is being seen upon us; it comes with a lot of blessings; the nations coming to the brightness of our rising... Isaiah painted the picture well;

Isaiah 60:2-3 : ...but the LORD shall arise upon thee and his glory SHALL BE SEEN UPON THEE: And GENTILES SHALL COME TO THY LIGHT.....
When the glory comes, hustling stops. You are at rest and the glory attracts them automatically. If truly the glory of the lord is upon us..it must be seen! See what they said about Isaac:

Gen 26:28: And they said, WE SAW certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said...

Psalm 126:1-2 also suggest this strongly.

"When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion (his glory appearing) we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter and our tongue with singing: THEN SAID THEY AMONG THE HEATHEN, The LoRD hath done great things for them".

This serves as a push for us to know more of God and becomes our greatest weapon for evangelism..."His glory being seen by people upon us". Guys let's wakeup! This glory must be seen!

Understanding what the GLORY is and how it can be seen would be well defined in next post.

ACTION POINT: Bear in mind; this glory must be seen!

SPEAKING WHEN IT MATTERS

Proverbs 17:27-28
27 "He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

28 "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding"

"Sometimes it's better to be quiet and be thought a fool, than to speak and clear all benefits of doubt" - Seun A.

This quote and the bible passage are in complete harmony. A man of understanding is characterized by two things;
1) Few words
2) Excellent spirit.
Zig Ziglar nailed the essence of this post in his quote "The funny thing about people who talk too much is that they have nothing upstairs". Few words and excellent spirit goes hand in hand. They follow a basic rule..."If you don't have anything important to say, shut up and observe...and seriously people would ask you of your opinion".
It just works. Infact you would be thought to be very wise and of an excellent spirit after u've spoken because you've virtually listened to all they've said and put it eloquently in a good summary, drawing out the basic conclusion.

Prov 15:23 said "A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: a word spoken in due season, how good is it!"

When you speak at the right moment; it becomes a good word. Speaking when it matters most also makes you feel good and smart. Even if you don't know anything about the subject being told; relax and listen to what all of them have to say..then draw a smart conclusion that gets their heads all nodding. Doesn't mean you are smarter than they are intellectually; but shows a your understanding on a basic biblical tool for the wise in heart!

Action point: Act on this quote I got from a friend: "Become a detective of the right moment; sniff out the spirit of the times, the trends that will carry you to power." Right moment speeches carry power!

SIMPLE RECIPE FOR A PROSPEROUS LIFE.

It's no "21 steps"; trust me, it's very simple and basic. Take a look at various versions of the scripture Job 22:21 below;

Job 22:21 (AMP) Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you.
Job 22:21. (MSG). Give in to God, come to terms with him and everything will turn out just fine.
Job 22:21 (GNB). Now, make peace with God and stop treating him like an enemy; if you do, then he will bless you.
Job 22:21 (DRB). Submit thyself then to him, and be at peace: and thereby thou shalt have the best fruits.

Job 22:21 (NIV). Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.

Job 22:21 (CEV). Surrender to God All-Powerful, You will find peace and prosperity.

Job 22:21 (ABP+). Become firm indeed! If you should remain, so that your fruit will be for good things.

Job 22:21 (CJB). Learn to be at peace with [God]; in this way good will come [back] to you.
Job 22:21. (ESV). Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you.

Need I say more? The things of God are very simple; the recipe for a prosperous life is self summarized in the various versions of the scripture (Job 22:21) above..You can see that it's all your responsibility; Agreeing/submitting to God and being at peace! The response is that of a God that never fails; you can count on Him for a sure reward of good!

Action point: Therefore, If you don't participate it is all your fault

Powerful verses on the person of Wisdom!

Proverbs 8:19-21,34

(Message translation).

19 My benefits are worth more than a big salary, even a big salary; the returns on me exceed any imaginable bonus.

20 You can find me on Righteous Road- that's where I walk-at the intersection of Justice Avenue,

21 Handing out life to those who love me, filling their arms with life--armloads of life!

34. Blessed is the man, blessed is the woman, who listens to me, awake and ready for me each morning, alert and responsive as I start my day's work.

YOUR CONSENT.

"My son if sinners entice thee, consent thou not' Proverbs 1:10.

It is valid to say that with every act of sin committed by you, you attested to it. It's quite easy to put the blame on the devil or as I recently saw in an article; "the witches and wizards of your village" but, in truth you had a huge part to play there. Infact, you were the one who cashed the cheque of sin in the bank of worldliness. Am sure we've all been through that part and I am no exception.
Just as there's one form of ailment or the other in the world, it's clear that levels of immunity in humans determine the persons involved in such ailments. Am driving at a point. You see God designed the body system knowing it would always be attacked and we could trust him to keep us healthy by also playing our part.

The same applies with sin. There would always be an enticement to do it. It get very glossy to the eye at times. And trust God, he also gave us the immunity to that...(1 Cor 10:13). But the big question is "Why do we still fall into sin?". You'd agree with me that an infant is more liable to sicknesses than an adult due to his level of immunity which is lower. And as he/she grows more immunity is developed. Same applies to Christians. When we become born again, we are as infants in Christ and we need to grow. We are given a measure of faith *immunity* (Rom 12:3), the problem is that we remain there. We do not grow!

Imagine, the devil is devising new tactics on how to get us back to worldliness and we are sleeping saying "Christ did it all...I've got no work to do!" Baba wakeup!!!! Your level of consent to particular things shows ur level of immunity. If you remain an infant, you'd b tossed by every wind (James 1:6). But when you decide to grow, you are on your way to perfection.

1 Peter 2:2 says,
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"

The passage above describes vividly how to grow in Christ...feeding on the word, declaring and boldly confessing the word; which starts first with a desire! As you do this, your flesh aligns with the will of Christ. Your mind is being renewed. (Rom 12:1-2). This is the sure way to be transformed and not conformed!

In this kingdom, growth is purely by choice and not automatic. By choice, I mean "You may not feel like it sometimes, but you are solely committed to it". Don't worry about your emotions, once you've made the conscious decision to grow, emotions would follow. This is the basis of a love for God!

ACTION POINT: Make a project of any weakness in your life, study and confess what the word of God says in that area and u'd find out your consent, your emotions automatically follow! It's working in my life, yours would surely follow suit!!

ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION.

Prov 24:30-34.
"30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man."

You remember that proverb; "You either learn from an experience or you become an example of mistakes of the same experience".
Obviously you can't remember it..I saw something in the scriptures and those just flowed from my being. Let's prove this from the above scripture.

Today's scripture started with the tale of the slothful and lazy, and ended with their reward. But taking a deeper look into the concept of the whole passage, I'd find out it wasn't only about the slothful. A wise person made his presence felt.

Infact, I believe He did some environmental sanitation there. How? Although, He didn't have a matches to level the thorns, but he had the insight to transform it. He took waste/foolishness of the slothful and recycled it to gain wisdom! I know am beginning to sound somehow scientific, but I want us to relate with this passage in simple terms.
Simply put, Solomon went, He saw, didn't criticize, gained wisdom, and shared it! How do I know that; Verse 32 says; "Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it and received instruction".

Do you know that many times your most mind bugging question could be answered by what you see in your environment. How do I get a good job? How do I win my boss over? How do I serve God better? All are before our eyes. The problem is that we fail to recognize and learn from what we see.
We expect and audible voice from heaven (which happens) while, Solomon learnt by simply observing the environment that "Much sleep would lead him straight to poverty"; hence, the key to productivity. We most times never get audible voices, instead God shows us and speaks through the actions of people, articles, pictures, different policies we can take advantage of and even TV commercials; via our inward witness.

But you know what we do? We criticize and run our mouths over such. We join the crowd in doing the such things when we are the only ones having all to lose. Well, we don't even know it. We expect the dramatic and miss out on the door to the supernatural.

Romans 1:25 says "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
Almost everything we need to know can be learnt through the natural. You'd notice in d scriptures that when Jesus was speaking, He often related explained the supernatural and the kingdom of heaven to natural things such as, a seed, a little child, a man, etc. And today He still explains difficult situations in our lives through these pictures.

If only we could pay attention and shut up then, all these experiences we see and perceive won't go to waste, littering the streets of Lagos, Nigeria and even the entire world.

The result is clear; you don't learn from your environment and inevitably stuck to the same spot; becoming a victim of the same circumstance. We need to make our presence felt and get to a point that we see the good in every situation. You enter a circumstance and turn it around in the discovery of wisdom.

A lot of lessons are to be learnt; let's get this environmental sanitation started.

ACTION POINT:
Prov 21:11- "When a scorner is punished, the simple is made wise". Be wise today, don't criticize your environment, learn from it!

21/07/2015

Prov 16:3- Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
God is marvelous! Have you ever considered this scripture? How come "Works" are committed to God, but, God establishes thoughts? The truth is; God wants our advancement more than we even want it as this brings Him glory! This makes Him always bless the things He expects us to possess in a greater measure. That is; our thoughts. You'd agree that more than anything else we do, we think a lot!

This makes our thoughts a dominant part of our lives and commands the focus of God; especially when we pray.
Therefore having productive thoughts is non-negotiable.
Your thoughts cannot be more productive and in sync with that of God no more than your study of His words.

This is the key: Whatever work you're doing, ensure your thoughts about it is deeper. While you commit that work to God ensure you spend more time thinking about the work. I don't mean thoughts of worry, rather thoughts of the fulfillment the work would bring. Anxiety should not be entertained in this process as it is based on trust in God.

God is still in the business of establishing thoughts today. Spend time visualizing and thinking about the fulfillment of His promise in the Word concerning that work of yours today. Work Hard, Think Harder!

ACTION POINT: As you pray, Feed your thoughts with the word because, at the end it is your thoughts that God establishes rather than the works you committed to Him.

A MATTER WISELY HANDLED

Prov 16:20.- "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he".

The bible is very clear and simple. Knowing whether u've taken a wise decision can be no simpler. The number one marker of a decision wisely taken is the good found in it. Yes, the good!

Handling matters and making decisions is something we have to deal with every day and this makes the application of wisdom everyday inevitable. The truth is once you handle a matter wisely, it shows. We can know from the composition of the decision and what you say about it. The composition is "the good" and what's on your lips is "the good". This means you are constantly thanking God for it. Even when things go wrong and you seem not to lay hold on the good in thse situation, you know that all things work together for your GOOD (Romans 8:28).

Goodness of a matter both involves seeing good inside and then, getting Good at the end of it. These two are highly connected. Every matter handled in bitterness, every matter handled without seeing any good inside; is a matter wrongly handled.
Seeing the good is a matter helps you get GOOD at the end of the matter

Little wonder, the second part of the scripture said.."Whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he". This leads to another point. Another marker of a wise decision is that it draws you closer to God! It brews a form of trust and makes the bond stronger which leads to joy.

Mathematically, The Good seen= Good found= Trust in God= True happiness
Wise matter handling pays you.. Think before you act!

ACTION POINT: Is there any matter you are handling, decision you are making today or right now? Weigh it against the markers above! Every matter, no matter how bad contains Good!

DON'T RETIRE, REFIRE!

Judges 20:39- "And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons....".

Walking with the Lord Jesus requires consistency and there's no shortcut to Spiritual Maturity. Infact, Jesus said,"Anyone that puts his hand to the plough and turns back is not fit for the race" (Luke 9:62).

Its look seems interesting when we start out on this walk, but keeping the pace, taking our cross and following Him daily is the real work. Working out your salvation with fear and trembling! That's what Spiritual maturity entails.
From the passage above, it was clear that complacency is a killer! The children of Israel relaxed thinking the battle was over. Then the Benjamites took over. The same can be said of our walk with God on this earth. Have you ever noticed that it's times when you seem tired and exhausted that the devil brings negative thoughts and imaginations to your mind? Well that's what makes him the devil. He looks for empty/idle times in our lives where we are laid back so he can carry out his mission..Steal, kill and destroy (Jn 10:10).

Little wonder Jesus asked us to Watch and Pray (Mat 26:41,Mark 13:33, Mark 14:38, Luke 21:36) , Paul told the Elders of Ephesians in Acts (Acts 20:31) to watch. We cannot over emphasize the power of watching. You either "Pray" or become a "Prey". There's no midpoint..down on one extreme or up on the other.

Sometimes, I want to pray and the flesh pulls back, but I have realized that being strong in His grace is all I need and I don't need to feel condemned. Jesus has given us the grace to walk with Him, he recognizes the challenges of the walk and is ready to help us all the way (Heb 4:15). The Question is "Are You Ready?".
By every means keep moving. If it would take setting special considerable amount of time to seek his face and study the word during your day, do it! It's comparably very little compared to its vast benefits.

Remember, if that sacrifice means something to you, it surely does mean something to Him too! He daily loads you with benefits (Ps 68:19)!!!!

ACTION POINT: Spiritual walk is no cheap talk, it's Hard work. Make pleasing God your number one priority. REFIRE!!!!

THE SIXTH SENSE.

Ephesians 1:17-18 "17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the SPIRIT OF WISDOM and REVELATION in the knowledge of him: 18 The EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING being enlightened; THAT YE MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,...".

What is the SIXTH SENSE (in context)?

This is one prayer that has blessed my life immensely especially those times I was in dire need of divine direction. I believe every believer should pray it too.
There are two things Paul asked God for the Ephesian Church in this Scripture;
1) The Spirit of Wisdom.
2) The Spirit of Revelation in the knowledge of Him.
Also, there were quite numerous dividends of this two things amongst which would be discussed on today's post.
Amongst them is; "The EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING being enlightened; THAT YE MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING,.." Another translation puts it as the "EYES OF YOUR HEART".

Have you ever had someone explain something to you that you seem not to understand, then, after a while of brainstorming, suddenly the light bulbs flashes in your mentality and you'd say "now I SEE"?. That's because the eyes of your heart has grasped it. It wasn't your physical eye. Some people call it The "SIXTH SENSE".

The eyes of your heart here means your discretion, keenness, perception, a sense of judgment that makes you know the right thing to do and the right timing. This "Sixth sense" is really tied to wisdom and revelation.

Take a look at Prov 2:10-11. "10. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11. Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:".

There's a stark similarity between the verse in Ephesians and Proverbs. Both implying that when you have the Spirit of Wisdom (WISDOM in Proverbs 2:10) and the Spirit of Revelation (UNDERSTANDING in Proverbs 2:10), the EYES OF YOUR HEART (DISCRETION and UNDERSTANDING in Prov 2:11) would be sharpened. Therefore without wisdom and revelation which are both Spirits we cannot know the way! We are Spiritually Blind.

What Happens when the Eyes of Your Understanding is enlightened?
Ephesians 1:18 continues "that ye may know what is the HOPE OF HIS CALLING". Your destiny is so special in the sense that, people might have an idea about what you are meant to become, even you might have that glimpse. But, what is hidden is the HOW. .
Just like Joseph in Genesis; they are all in the dark including yourself.
Guess that's just how it was programmed to be; God conceals things and you are to search it out (Prov 25:2). So the need for divine direction is unquestionable. You just have to rely on him.

Just as the example I gave earlier, when the light bulb finally flashes in your head and your perception is clear on a subject matter, u'd say "I SEE". Well, SO IS IT WITH YOUR DESTINY.
The "hope of his calling" Paul was referring to is "what God called you to be"..."YOUR PURPOSE". Sure, without that you cannot be fulfilled. When wisdom and revelation (via ardent study of the bible and prayers) enters you about Him, your discretion is sound and you know the right way to go. You can only find yourself in Him, the bible proves this fact in the scriptures below.
Prov 10:23 "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps".
Proverbs 20:24. Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
The plain truth is that we cannot know and understand our way and until the eyes of our heart is being opened up, we'd be in darkness.

Remember Isaiah 55:8.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."

But when it's opened, Isaiah described what happeneth well; Isaiah 30:21. ". And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.".
When this part of you is opened up, even the most negative circumstances, worst hit of failure would not get to you. You'd see failure not as a wall but a way to your destiny knowing that you only have to be right ONCE! All things work together for your good.

Most importantly, you'd fulfill destiny in grand style!

If you need divine direction pray this today!

ACTION POINT: Turn on the light bulbs and be discrete in your actions. Pray out Ephesians 1:17-18, you can even extend it to verse 21 for the full package today. It costs little, but pays much more.

Yeah, it was long but you were blessed. Stay blessed!
THE SIXTH SENSE.
