Driving yesterday, I listened to a story of a prophet who was arrested for defrauding an unsuspecting victim. I sort of feel she was really naive.
The story goes that she's been plagued with fibroid for years, and this prophet alledgedly told her, he could make the fibroid disappear, of course by the power of prophetic ministry upon him. So from initial payment of ninety thousand naira, which I assume was registration fee, he kept collecting money from her in tranches that ran into millions of Naira, yet the fibroid refused to disappear. From one religious exercise to another, one fe**sh ritual to another, the distressed woman kept following him, doling out cheques and making transfers to his account as she went, all to no avail.
I feel sorry for her. If only she knew that God speaks to all His children. If only she knew that she could fellowship with God and hear God herself. If only she knew, that God isn't as far away as religion has made Him seem, she could simply have asked Him, and He would have done it for her without charging her a kobo.
