I trust you are doing just fine.
It is important that, you and I continue to trust in the assurance in God's promises.

In today's post, we will continue from where we stopped last time, our topic of discussion is "Holy Spirit".

Our anchor scripture is;
John 16:7
However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].

Since last month, we've been discussing on the reasons behind the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, as believers. With the help oc God, we have so far been doing just that.

Last week, our discussion was based on the gifts of the Spirit, a.k.a manifestations of the Spirit, today's discussion will be based on the fruits of the Spirit, which some people call, the characters of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. [Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV]

As revealed above, the fruits of the Spirit are;
- love,
- peace,
- longsuffering,
- kindness,
- goodness,
- faithfulness,
- gentleness,
- self-control...

These fruits of the Spirit, are the standards life style for believers. They are the highlights of Jesus' life on earth.

Unlike the gifts of the Spirit, these fruits are all made available for all believers, at salvation. The Holy Spirit makes them available to our spirit man, in other to differentiate us from unbelievers and shine as the light, God has made to be, in this world filled with darkness.

These friuts are very important in the life of every believer, without them, we won't be any different from the unbelievers.

The Bible in 1 Corinthians 13:13 says; "And so faith, hope, love abide [faith - conviction and belief respecting man 's relation to God and divine things; hope - joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love - true affection for God and man, growing out of God 's love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love. [AMP]"

Love, which is among the fruits of the Spirit is the most important of all virtue in this faith of ours, and it will be the only virtue that will outrun time and this world we live in.

A lot of people outside the faith - unbelievers - do make a claim of these fruits especially love and peace, it is pertinent for me to let you know that, whatever unbelievers describe as love and peace is not what we have in Christ Jesus - not at all.

Jesus says; "...the peace I give you, is not like of the world".

Before we go on with today's post, I want to first wish you a happy new month, I pray that, you will not miss out in any of God's blessings for you this month, even as you are exempted from all the evils of the month;, together with your family and friends, in Jesus name!
Congratulations and welcome to the month of May.

We will continue with the topic of discussion started last month, titled "Holy Spirit", you will do well to check the page for previous post, in other to follow through, and not miss out on anything.

Our anchor scripture is;
John 16:7

We will continue to discuss why the Holy Spirit is so important to us, as believers, that Jesus couldn't wait for the Holy Spirit, to be with us. Last time, we discussed two reasons; Holy Spirit helps our understanding of the things of the Spirit, and He protect us from the deceiver - who is the devil.

In this post, our focus will be on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which can also be described as the manifestations of the Spirit. The Bible says; ...there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. [1 Corinthians 12:4 NLT]
..for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. [1 Corinthians 12:8-10 NKJV]

The word of wisdom,
Word of knowledge,
Spirit if faith,
Healings,
Working of miracles,
Prophecy,
Discerning of spirit,
Speaking in tongues,
Interpreting tongues...

Above are the common gifts or manifestations of the Spirit... These gifts, the Bible says are... "given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. [1 Corinthians 12:7 NLT]" So that, on this earth, we as believers can manifest dominion as Children of God.

On this important discussion, it pertinent to note that; It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. [1 Corinthians 12:11 NLT]

As said earlier, the Holy Spirit is the source of these gifts, and as the scripture above reveals, He alone decides the gifts each of us, believers get. He decides the who gets what, and when we get it.

But even at that, Apostle Paul advice that; ...you should desire the most helpful gifts. [1 Corinthians 12:31 NLT]. If you desire a gift of the Spirit, you don't have, Apostle Paul says, earnestly convert it. Doing so, the Holy Spirit checks your motive, and your heart, if they are right, He will grant it to you.

The Bible says, "...our expectations shall never be cut off".

We will continue to discuss why the Holy Spirit is so important to us, as believers, that Jesus couldn't wait for the Holy Spirit, to be with us. Last time, we discussed two reasons; Holy Spirit as a seal of God's ownership and God's guarantee of blessings to all believers.

Today, we will discuss about the promise of Jesus Christ concerning the Holy Spirit being our "guiding Angel" into every truth of the kingdom, as seen in the scripture below.

John 16:12 -13
"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. [NKJV]

As seen, Jesus told the disciples that, the many things He wants to tell them is too complicated for the human wisdom, He will only be wasting His telling them, because they can't understand without the Holy Spirit giving them understanding through their spirit man.

The Bible says, the things of God are foolishness to the natural mind, so without the Holy Spirit guiding us into the truths of the scriptures and the Gospel, the Christian life will be a frustrated and meaningless life. As Christians, we will live a life of ignorance and defeat in the absence of the Spirit truth who is the Holy Spirit.

The Apostles, didn't know much, neither did they totally understood all Jesus told them, while He was with them, until the Holy Ghost came on them, on the day of Pentecost. With that understanding, Apostle Peter could preached the Gospel to everyone around. He was able to explain to them the significant of the person, death and resurrection of Jesus to them.

And as he kept growing in his relationship with Holy Ghost, he knew more and was able to teach and answer questions better, leading many to salvation with his teachings.

Glory to God!

1 John 2: 27
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ. [NLT]

That scripture doesn't literally means, because of the presence of the Holy Spirit, we need not to be thought in church and gatherings like camps and special programmes. No! If it does, God wouldn't have given us "Pastors, Teachers, Prophets... to bring us all into the unity of faith".

He sure wouldn't have!
He's no waster, and He doesn't do things without following His plan.

The scripture means, the Holy Spirit, as the Spirit of truth will always be there to guide us into all truth, in other not to be deceived by the devil and his demons. We are in the end time, and the devil is all out to deceive as many believer as he can, out of the path of light.

But with the Holy Spirit, we are protected. The Spirit help us navigate effectively every teachings, doctrines, dogma and Co...

Even as He continuously help us make sense of the truth of the scriptures and the Gospel. Holy Spirit duty as the Spirit of truth, is in two dimension.

One, He make us understand the things of the Spirit. And two, He guide us from the lies of the deceiver.

Isn't that awesome?

Today's post, we continue from where we stopped last time, our topic of discussion is "Holy Spirit".

In our last post, our discussion was based on the person of the Holy Spirit, from that discussion, I believe, we now know the person of the Holy Spirit. We can now proceed to discuss why the Holy Spirit is so important to us, as believers, that Jesus couldn't wait for the Holy Spirit, to be with us.

Ephesians 1:13 - 14
And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
[NLT]

In the scripture above, Apostle Paul through the leading of the Holy Spirit made known two wonderful things about the Holy Spirit, which will be what we will discuss today.

First, he says, the Holy Spirit is God's mark of ownership over every believer all around the world. Outside Christ, a man doesn't belongs to God, but belongs to the devil, man belongs in the kingdom of darkness outside Jesus Christ.

But, when man accepts the gift of salvation by wholeheartedly believing in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus as the only means of salvation, like John 3:16 says, man is saved. Which means, man is bought from the devil and his kingdom of darkness, to become God's own and translated into God's kingdom of light!

What follows next is the seal of ownership, God places on man which is His own Spirit - the Holy Spirit. The scripture says; "...He has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts..." [2 Conrinthians 1:22 NLT]

The Holy Spirit is the confirmation of our salvation! Without Him, a man's salvation is questionable, as the scriptures above has reveal. If you are indeed saved, then you have the Holy Spirit, as God's seal of ownership over your life. If you don't have Him, maybe you have not been saved, maybe you have believed wrongly. You need to go back to the Gospel and accept it wholeheartedly.

And secondly, Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:14 as seen above, says the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of everything God has promised, in Christ Jesus. Whatever promises, you have come across in the Bible, which belong to you in Christ Jesus, the scripture above is saying, the seal of the Holy Spirit is an assurance that you will get them.

Glory to God!

The scripture says; "...placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of everything he will give us." [2 Corinthians 1:22 NLT]

Remember in our last discussion, we learnt that, Holy Spirit is the power of God; that, it was until He came upon Mary that she was able to get pregnant and give birth to Jesus Christ, even as she was a virgin. And Jesus too could not heal and command miracles, sings and wonders until Holy Spirit came upon Him.

So, it is the presence of the Holy Spirit the power of God, that all of God's promises be manifested one after the other in our lives.

In today's discussion, we have learnt that, the Holy Spirit is a seal of ownership and a guarantee of God's promises.

And enjoying the mercies and love of the Father.

Today's post, we continue from where we stopped last time, our topic of discussion is "Holy Spirit".

Our anchor scripture is;
John 16:7
However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].

In the words of Jesus, as seen in the scripture above, the profitability of the presence of the Holy Spirit, can not be overemphasis. It is too much that, Jesus couldn't wait for us, to have the Holy Spirit with us, always.

Before we go on to talk about His profitability to us believers, first, let's answer the question, who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit, is the third member of the Trinity, and He is the Spirit of God, the same Spirit who raised Jesus up om the third day, after He died. The Holy Spirit is also the power of God. Atimes, the Holy Spirit is called Holy Ghost.

In the account of creation, we see the Holy Spirit move round the earth, He was there with Jesus - the word, and God - the Father. They all were together, making all the decisions on the things would go. And basically, the Holy Spirit was there to effect the plans and word of God, into reality.

Zechariah 4:6
"This is GOD's Message to Zerubbabel: "You can't force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,' says GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies. [MSB]

The things that, God would do, are made possible by the Holy Spirit, because He is the power of God and the doer of God's plan. Just like the scripture above says; "...they only come about, through my Spirit, says God..."

Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God [NKJV]

Acts 10:38
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. [NKJV]

In the two scriptures above, we see that, the Holy Spirit was behind the testimonies that ended both scriptures. It's the presence of the Holy Spirit that made the impossible, possible.

Mary wouldn't have been able to give birth to Jesus. It was an hopeless and impossible task, but not when the Holy Ghost is around, He did the impossible.

Jesus, being the child of God, couldn't do any healing and miracle, until the Holy Spirit came unto Him, and the powor of God became readily accestable to Him. With that being in place, He brought the dead back to life, casted out demons, heal all manner of sicknessess and diseases, all to the glory of God, the Father.
..not by power or might, but by my Spirit says the Lord!

Happy New Month to you!
Welcome to the first month in the second quarter of the year 2020.

In view of the epidemic that has held the world in ransom for a while now, I want to encourage you and tell you, that the Lord has your back, including your family and loved ones. And please know for a fact that, this time will pass and we will all return back to what it used to be.

Even at that, we must not lose guard, we must continue to pray and stay alert, because the devil is an opportunists. Our prayer is to God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we must pray with the confidence and assurance that, He hears us.

You and I, together with our families and loved ones, we will come out of this epidemic stronger and better in Jesus name!!!

So, in this new month, our discussion will be on a new topic, I have called Holy Spirit. The aim of this discussion is to, open us to the person of the Holy Spirit, His ministry and purpose in our lives. This will happen, by His help.

A lot of talks are over the person of the Holy Spirit, among us believrs today. Some of which, are not true, and mere human intelligence. But by His help, through our discussions here, every uncertainty will be clear us, and our understanding will greatly improve, in Jesus name!

Our anchor scripture is a powerful one, as it depict the importance of Holy Spirit to us, believers. Jesus says, it is to our benefit that, the earlier He finished with His purpose in earth, the better for us... because, it is, in His leaving us, that we will truly be blessed.

Welcome to today's article, it is my prayer that, you find today's article impactful and that the Holy Spirit gives you the understanding and the wisdom that comes with it, in Jesus name!!!
Amen.

We continue on the topic, titled "Trinity", that was started last month February. Our anchor scripture for this topic has been;
But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
- John 15:26 NKJV

Going on to describe the Trinty, and understand their make up, is an effort we can't totally do, but still, we will do what we can do as the Spirit helps us. From previous posts on this page, we have established that the Trinity is made of three separate beings or persons, - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit - whom are perfect unity. Although they three very seperate persons, but they are all in unity at all times, over all situations.

Isaiah 42:8
I am the Lord; that is My name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.
[AMP]

Many believer, get confused with the kind of relationship between God - the Father, and God - the Son, more, because some don't even acknowledge the place of, God - the Holy Spirit. From the above Scripture, we know and understand that God doesn't share His glory...the question these people ask is, if the Trinity is composed of three different persons, who then owns all the glory?

Philippians 2:9-10
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
[NKJV]

In the scripture above, one might think Jesus Christ now shares the glory and honour with God, but it isn't so. Whatever praise, worship and glory Jesus Christ gets, is directly going to the Father. That is why, verse eleven of Philippians chapter two, says;

"...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [NKJV]"

The Bible Bible says, everything is to the glory of the Father. Whatever comes to God - the Son (Jesus Christ) goes to God directly, because God had made Jesus the channel to Him. Whatever that has to leave Him and come to Him, must pass through Jesus, the way. The scripture below also buttresses this truth.

John16:13-15
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
[NKJV]

Although the Trinity all work together, but they do not share the glory together, only God - the Father does. Even at that, God - the Father, has put God - the Son, and God - the Holy Spirit at the forefront of His affairs with everything He has created, especially His affairs with humanity.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
[NKJV]

His affairs with humanity is very different from His other creations, that is why, He could send, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, for salvation and justification. Humanity is on a whole different level with other creation of Him

In today's post, we will continue to explore the relationship between three beings in other to understand them better.

John 10:30
I and the Father are One.
[AMP]

During Jesus time on earth, He declared boldly, "I and the Father are One". This statement is audacious in every way, because it is blasphemous to compary a man to God, and that infuriated the people around Him, that they wanted to stone Him. What they didn't know is, Jesus wasn't all man... He was indeed God in human flesh! And He had a perfect relationship with the Father. He did nothing without the Father's backing.

Matthew17:5
While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and have always been] delighted. Listen to Him! [AMP]

The kind of unity between the Father and the Son is undisputed, that the Father had to literally speak to the earth, to show His full support. The Father let the Son take charge without any worry, because He knew very well how undisputed their unity is; the Son won't do anything behind His back.

Whatever the Son did, was what, all of the Trinity had agreed to. In John 5:30, Jesus says; - I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. [NKJV]

About the Holy Spirit, Jesus says; ...when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. [John 16:13 NKJV]

Since pentecostal, the arrival of the Holy Spirit, like Jesus, He has only said things, the Trinity agreed upon! He has said nothing of Himself! His, is to glorify the Father and the Son, and inturn, He is glorified too.

The Bible says; ...God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. [1Corinthians 2:10 NKJV]

The Holy Spirit only talk about the things that the Trinity has agreed upon, and nothing of Himself.

The Trinty is such a great phenomenon, that the human intellectual can not comprehend because of the inhumane unity amongst them all.
