Today is another ósé, and we shall discuss about Ori and it's importance.
Ori is said to be superior to other parts of the body, both physical and spiritual.
Why is Ori important?
Ori is not a person but rather a personal library of destiny of every individual.
After Obatala finished creating human body, a person destiny was kept in the hand of his/her Ori and Orunmila was a witness that is why we must go to a babalawo,iyanifa or Olorisa to know about our destiny.
Why do some people live long and some just die at birth or young?... Every answer reside with Ori.
What kills 'Mr. A' can't or won't kill 'Mr.B', why?... Only Ori have the answer!
No divination is possible without Ori.
Your birth Odu,
Your taboos,
Your personal Orisa...
Everything is with Ori.
Our guardian Orisa determine our path here on Earth...
Our guardian Orisa and Ori shares similar taboos in most cases. If you know the taboos of your guardian Orisa it will help you a lot.
Whenever we hold our Ori in prayer, we are connected to our destiny all together.

From the Holy Odu above, we understand the power of Ori.
Ori is powerful than witchcraft and these is the reason why ibori is often important.
What makes Ori more powerful is IFA and not just IFA, finding out and know more about yourself.
Ifa, Orisa, égbé órun, egungun, etc also things that hinder Ori from working perfectly;
Eating taboos and doing things that are contrary to your destiny can affect us badly.
Neglecting our égbé órun or egungun and our Orisa Ori can affect us badly.

Today is another ójó ósé!

Our Topic today is Total surrender to Olodumare and Irunmole.

So, why we worship Orisa.
Many of us inherit Orisa from our parents or family but I believe that is not enough!
Every individual is expected to find their own path in Life. After inheriting Orisa, it is expected of us to go deeper by finding about ourselves. Many people failed in these aspect and they start jumping from one religion to another.
If you know yourself, you will know what you looking and it will give you rest of mind.

Isese lagba and our Tradition is the best to speak about Heaven and Olodumare.
Some of us believe in Heaven and hell in the Bible &Quran but I say no!...
In our tradition (isese), we don't die... We only reincarnate and these is one of the things Christianity and Islam don't believe in.

Olodumare is the founder of isese(our tradition).
We visit heaven and Olodumare Everytime we break kola or pray before our ancestors (IFA,Orisa, égbé órun etc).

My question is... How can we visit heaven every ósé or Everytime we go to our ancestors and still be afraid of Heaven or hell???

If we are afraid then it means we have doubt about our tradition.
We need all the knowledge and to know exactly what we are doing!

Our topic today is to strengthen our believe in isese(our tradition).
Do good and leave the rest to Olodumare.

Some Rules and regulations before the Orisa.
1. Whenever we are before the ancestors (IFA, Orisa, egungun, égbé órun etc), we must be calmed.
2. Don't rush whenever you are asking questions before the Orisa.
3. Don't get angry or shout before the Orisa even if someone offends you.
4. Whenever you are talking to the Orisa don't pick calls or talk to someone else.
Etc
Remember, whenever you are before the Orisa, you are already in Heaven!

Today is another ósé Obatala, and the Odu that appears today is Osa Ofun with ire Aya.

In the Holy Odu above, I will like to emphasize on iwa(good character).

Yemoo was and is always mentioned as Obatalas' wife and as stated in the Holy Odu above. We should also understand that iwa(good character) makes Obatala and Yemoo more compatible.
As children of Orisa, we should always try our best to be truthful in our dealings with others.
Money, Power, position etc shouldn't be a reason to lie or deceive our fellow human being.

Now let's discuss why we follow or serve Orisa.

Orisa can and will give us money and anything we want but what Orisa gives first is clarity and peace of mind.
Your Orisa Ori is your guide and guardian. (This is a Topic on its own, perhaps next time).

May Obatala and all irunmole be our guide and guards... Ase!

Today is our ósé Obatala!
And today I have come to share with us the benefits of ("Ileke/ide IFA or sesefun for Obatala e.t.c)

Ileke is worn for protection not fighting as some believe.
By protection, I mean protection from ajogun(evil forces). Evil forces can be spiritual and physical (fellow human being).

Whenever we put on ileke, we become an emissary/representative of the Orisa therefore, we must act accordingly.
The closer we are to our Orisa will determine how close the Orisa will be with us.
For children of Orisa like; Esu, Ogun and Sango...Iwa pele is the key.
Esu is not devil... Ogun is not evil or bad... And Sango is not evil.
All Orisa are Messengers of Olodumare and all children of Orisa must act like wise.
Always fight the anger within. Fight anger with calmness!
Children of Orisa pass through trials; so therefore, never think you are alone.
Obatala lives in everyone of us. Whenever you are confused, always go to baba arugbo for wisdom and clarity.

We Shall look into other Orisa some other time!

Good morning to all members and friends of IWA NI Orisha Temple.
Today we celebrate ósé Obatala!

Who is Obatala?

Obatala!
Obatasa!
Oba gbogbo orisa!

Obatala is the king of all Orisa as many of us know.
Obatala is second to none but Olodumare.
Obatala is the creator of Earth and all Human being and Orunmila is the witness (Eleri Ipin).
Though Obatala did not create destiny but He is the shaper of destiny and Orunmila bear witness.
Obatala represent calmness, coolness, clarity, truth, and all that is good and unstain.
Although, many IFA priests(babalawo) claimed that IFA/Orunmila is to Obatala but I have also witnessed some Olorisa who claimed otherwise!

IFA is the language of Olodumare, the irunmoles and initiates.
Olodumare and the Orisas speaks to us through IFA and Orunmila is the interpreter.
Orunmila witness our destiny in heaven that is why when things get out of hand we consult for more understanding.
Obatala speak to his devotees with or without the use of divination tools.
In Holy Odu IFA eji ogbe;

Iku pe arugbo,
Arugbo kó, ko jé ipe
Iku pe ómóde kekere
Iku se bi are bi are
Iku mu wón ló si órun
Ni o difa fun Obatala Ósééréigbo
Ti ko si éni ti ko le pe
Ki o ran ni isé
Ninu gbogbo Irunmole
Afi bi gbogbo wón ba dawójó
Ti gbogbo wón n jisé fun.

The Holy Odu above narrate how Obatala is superior to all Orisa.
There is no Orisa or Irunmole that Obatala can not sent on errand. They will all come together to work for Him.
There are many other Odu IFA but let us take this for now.
In a nutshell, Obatala represent calmness and truthfulness. Let us imitate the Orisa and become more transparent in our dealings with our fellow human beings.
