2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV) Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Matthew 4:3 (KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Our adversary is also called the tempter. This is what makes him dangerous because his aim is to cause us to go against God's word. As cunning as he is, he knows how to play this game, so well, with several thousands of years of experience. That is his character, and we must not underestimate his skills in that regard. He has a strategy and plan for every believer. If he fails today, he will try another day, another month, and another year. He will not stop pursuing us until we are out of this world.
So far as we are alive, we shall have him tempting us. There are two fundamental reasons why we must know who he is;
firstly, he will not stop being a tempter; secondly, we must not allow ourselves to be complacent in our victories over him. If we are able to resist him or reject his proposal, it doesn't mean it is over because he does not give up. It is his stubbornness that makes him a dangerous adversary because if we feel complacent at any point in time, we can fall to his temptations. Are we victorious today? Let's not relax because he will come back to tempt us again. To be continued.
May we not allow ourselves to be complacent for even a day. Have a blessed Monday.
*Prayer Points:*
1. Lord, I can not overcome the temptations on my own. I pray for your strength, wisdom, and courage to walk away.
2. Help me to guard my heart and mind based on your word and make a way out for me when I feel overwhelmed.
