A STORY THAT NEEDS TELLING
I was still in the university (I think 200 level), I was preparing to return back to school after one of the Semester’s break then I had this deep stirring in my heart to get some gifts for my Father In the Lord (the man in the pictures).
Thinking about it now, it wasn’t too much but for where I was then it was like I was breaking MY ALABASTER BOX OF OINTMENT. So, I went all out, got him several gifts and looked for a time he was about leaving the Church so I can hand it over to him in the car without too much attention.
What happened next stuck with me for life. I approached him the gifts and he looked at it, held me and said, “Iyke, I understand your heart but now is not the time”. That was the first time in my life I saw a Spiritual authority reject gifts with all the messages I had heard on HONOR? It didn’t make sense…
I did a lot of ministry work in school and I never took honorarium from any fellowship because I looked at them with the same eyes, My Pastor looked at me with.
Today, I want to honor the impact you’ve had in mine and my wife’s life . Thank you for being with us every step of the way, thank you for praying for us, thank you for the multiple counsel that money can’t buy and as God lives, we will continuously do much more in honoring you and communicating that we understand the weight of blessings God has given us in you.
