Same John,
Same rumour
Same offense
Same Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Be careful how you handle adversity, challenges and trials is a must experience for every child of God.
(John 1:1-14)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
By depth of the revelation of apostle John, he acknowledged Jesus as the word, as God, as life, as light that the darkness of this world can not comprehend, and as source of power for to becoming…
(John 1:29-30)
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
Same John testified about Jesus as the lamp of God which taketh away the sin of the world..
John had great insight about the person of Jesus Christ, but why did he took an offensive position toward Jesus?
It is because of delayed expectations, adversity and challenges of life- this is where many us storck ourselves in journey of life.
(Luke 7:16-23)
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Please, we must note that at this great season our beloved apostle John has been captured and kept in the prion, it is now a trying moment, challenging times, an evil days, moment of defending what he believe and preached about, to our greatest surprise he became very bitter when he heard the rumour of miracles in the life of others through Jesus.
He sent a message to Jesus asking if he is the one to come or we should look for another, a man with depth of revelation..
Are you the one to come he asked ?
Hear me, adversities is one the tools designed to challenge our depth in God.
Jesus said, offense must come but blessed is that man or woman who is not offended in me.
My friend rise up, take no offense in him, count it all joy..
(James 1:2-8)
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
I may not know what you are going through but I pray that you will pull through in Jesus mighty name I pray.
Safe journey..
Shalom
