Title: You Are Not Indispensable!

As we gather here today, let us take a moment to reflect on the incredible mercy and blessings our Lord has bestowed upon us as a church. In the journey of building our church, God has been our guide and provider, showing us that He is always present and faithful. *I pray that the Lord continues to replenish our resources and provides abundantly for each of us.* What are the desires and needs you hold in your heart? Take comfort in knowing that the Lord is listening and will indeed come through for you. Together, we will not be put to shame in our faith.

In our first lesson, we are reminded of a profound truth: no one is truly indispensable. The word "indispensable" refers to individuals or things considered absolutely essential—those believed to be irreplaceable. However, as highlighted in Acts 1:15-20, we learn that even the most significant positions can be reassigned by God. Do not allow yourself to feel overly important in the eyes of the Lord; pride can lead to a downfall, and God has the means to replace you at any moment.

Reflecting on last Sunday’s sermon, we heard the cautionary tale of a former church CM who, consumed by arrogance, viewed himself as essential to the ministry. Ultimately, he faced public humiliation because of his pride. Remember the hymn 708, which reminds us that humility is vital in our spiritual journey. Regardless of the position we occupy, let us approach God with reverence and humility, recognizing that He alone has no replacement.

God has alternatives and backups for everything. I was struck by a video I recently watched, depicting an abandoned corpse—an unsettling reminder of our mortal nature and the consequences of neglecting our spiritual duties. Esther 2:17 and Acts 1:25-26 speak to the importance of recognizing and valuing our roles within the divine plan.

As we contemplate our own positions, I want to share three key points of reflection:

1. Disobedience to God’s Authority: As seen in 1st Samuel 15:26, disobedience can lead to dire consequences. Let us strive to be faithful and obedient, always aligning ourselves with God's will.

2. Pride: We must remember to lower our egos and walk humbly before our God. Pride leads to separation from God, and in humility, we can find true strength.

3. Sin: While God is a merciful creator, He is also a consuming fire (James 1:15). We should flee from sin, recognizing that the wages of sin is death (1st Samuel 17:4-10; Exodus 33:20). If God chooses to replace us, it is far more merciful than allowing us to succumb to the consequences of our actions.

We must also acknowledge that everything we possess today is not solely through our own power or knowledge; it is a reflection of God's grace. Let us utilize our resources with gratitude and humility, as emphasized in Proverbs 16:18 and echoed in Hymn 429.

Ultimately, the choice of how we conduct our lives is ours to make; however, I implore each of you to choose goodness and kindness in all aspects of life. When God truly calls someone, He will provide the necessary support and presence to guide them on their journey.

While humanity often judges by outward appearances, our Lord looks deeply into the heart (1st Samuel 16:7).

Now, let us turn our attention to the second lesson, which serves as a significant warning (Exodus 20:1-6, 17). We must never tempt God; remember the individual who demanded a sign from God to validate his calling—God took this request seriously, as reminded in Numbers 23:19.

Let us carry these reflections in our hearts as we continue our worship today. Amen.

Title: Unacceptable and Unlawful Offering

In our journey as Christians, one of the fundamental aspects of our faith is the practice of giving. It is not merely an act, but rather a reflection of our willingness to sacrifice for the benefit of others and in obedience to God. True giving often requires us to step out of our comfort zones and trust in God’s provision, even during times of financial difficulty.

Consider the Biblical example of the widow who, despite having only a meager meal left, selflessly provided for the prophet Elijah. This act of faith illustrates that, in giving, we often receive blessings in return—sometimes in ways we least expect.

Our lessons today revolve around the theme of giving and the implications of our offerings. We reflect on King Uzziah, who ascended to the throne at the young age of sixteen and ruled for 52 years while doing the will of God. However, he eventually became arrogant and overstepped his bounds, thinking he could act as he pleased in spiritual matters. His grave error was offering incense with unholy hands on the altar, leading to God’s wrath and resulting in leprosy that plagued him for the rest of his life.

This story serves as a powerful reminder: if you have not been appointed or called to perform certain duties in the church, refrain from taking them upon yourself. Our acts of worship, such as offering incense, must come from a place of purity and holiness. In Exodus 20:26, it is emphasized that whatever we bring before God must be holy and stem from a sincere heart, as echoed in Proverbs 11:25-26.

Furthermore, I've encountered individuals who boast about their contributions, embellishing how much they have helped others, but it often lacks genuine Christian intent. *Wisdom truly is essential to navigate these aspects of our faith.* In the company of believers, Satan's influence should diminish, as we proactively seek righteousness.

When we face spiritual challenges, it is necessary to learn from our failures and strive to pass those tests in order to move forward in our spiritual journeys. *Interestingly, there are those outside the church who understand the importance of giving, even if they do not actively participate in worship.*

If we aspire to give unconditionally—as Christ exemplified—God will undoubtedly expand our capacities for generosity. Emulating God means reflecting His giving nature. As Christians, we should refrain from reacting negatively to situations, and our aim should be to plant seeds without solely seeking immediate returns.

Giving must be motivated by revelation rather than by emotion. It is crucial to look beyond immediate appeals; recognize that there are individuals whose giving mirrors that of Cain from the scriptures, wishing to gain favor for the wrong reasons.

As we give, we should avoid the temptation of showcasing our generosity. As instructed in Matthew 6:1-4, our offerings should be done discreetly, not for public recognition. I recall attending an event where one man withheld his donation simply because his name was mispronounced—an attitude of pride that detracted from the essence of giving.

Our lives as Christians must be distinctly different from those of unbelievers. We are called to live out our faith with integrity and authenticity, understanding that it is God, not our own strength or intellect, who provides for our needs (Deuteronomy 8:18). If we mistakenly believe our wealth results solely from our knowledge or skills, we miss the divine source of our blessings.

When you possess the grace to give, approach it with joy and thanksgiving, for it is more blessed to give than to receive, as articulated in scripture.

Types of Offerings include:
- Burnt Offering
- Tithe Offering
- Spiritual Offering
- Sing Offering

As stated in Leviticus 22:18, whatever we bring to the church must be without blemish, reflecting the sanctity of our gifts. Emotional giving can often mislead us, straying us from true generosity. Each member of our church community must embrace the identity of a giver because it is the essence of our Christian calling.

Let us honor God with what we have, as we also seek to honor those in need within our communities (2 Samuel 24:23-25). It is crucial that we act with urgency and righteousness before it is too late.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, grant me the spirit of giving, so I may serve You and others with a heart full of love and generosity.

Sermon Summary Reflection: The Presence of God

The sermon emphasizes the pursuit of God’s presence as a transformative force, attainable through a pure heart, truthfulness, and steadfast obedience. The core message underscores that God’s presence brings fullness of joy and a divine atmosphere, but it requires intentional alignment with His will.
Key Points Analysis:
1. Purpose of Church Attendance: The sermon clarifies that attending church is not about superficial engagement but about repentance and aligning with God’s purpose. This challenges believers to approach worship with sincerity and a commitment to spiritual growth.
2. Consistent Faith: Referencing Psalm 40:1-10, the sermon highlights that God’s presence demands unwavering faith, rejecting lukewarm Christianity. This calls for a disciplined spiritual life rooted in trust and devotion.
3. Overcoming Challenges: Citing Romans 8:35, the sermon acknowledges Satan’s tests but assures that a life anchored in God’s Word equips believers to triumph over trials, emphasizing resilience through scripture.
4. Consequences of Disobedience: Drawing from 2 John 5:1-10, the sermon warns that disobedience and spiritual inconsistency create barriers to experiencing God’s presence, urging believers to maintain fidelity to His commands.
5. Authentic Faith in Action: True faith must manifest in consistent behavior, both within and beyond the church, reflecting integrity and devotion in all aspects of life.
6. Discernment Against False Prophets: The sermon advises reliance on prayer and fasting to gain divine clarity, safeguarding believers from deception and reinforcing the importance of spiritual discernment.
Action Steps Evaluation:
* Purity and Obedience: Maintaining a pure heart and obedience aligns believers with God’s will, fostering a conducive environment for His presence.
* Consistent Faith: Practicing faith daily ensures spiritual stability and resilience, extending beyond church settings into everyday life.
* Church Engagement: Participation in activities like new moon services strengthens communal bonds and spiritual connection, reinforcing commitment to God’s presence.
* Prayer: Regular prayer for God’s presence cultivates a deeper relationship with Him, sustaining spiritual vitality.
Reflection and Application: The sermon’s reflection encourages believers to correct their ways, build unwavering faith in Christ, and carry God’s presence in all circumstances.

This holistic approach promises a blessed, unshakable life. To apply this, one might prioritize daily scripture reading, engage in sincere worship, and practice discernment through prayer and fasting, ensuring that faith is both internal and outwardly expressed.

This summary encapsulates the sermon’s call to pursue God’s presence with intentionality, offering practical steps to live a spiritually enriched life.

*Title:*
The Call to Resurrection.

As we gather today, let us reflect deeply on the profound significance of Easter. It is a day of celebration, for Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, and as believers, we are called to rise with Him.

This message resonates even with the petals of the flowers around us, reminding us of the renewal and hope that Easter signifies.

The resurrection of Jesus is not just an event in history; it is an invitation for us to awaken from our spiritual slumber. Are we ready to rise from the confines of our challenges and limitations, or will we choose to remain stagnant?

*To truly awaken with Christ, we must emulate His life and teachings, striving to live as He did.*

Today, I want to draw attention to the remarkable aspects of Jesus Christ, which serve as pillars of our faith:

1. *The Birth of Jesus Christ*: His coming into the world marked the beginning of a new covenant between God and humanity.

2. *The Temptation of Jesus Christ*: This pivotal moment highlights that many of our struggles against temptation are not merely physical. *True strength against spiritual warfare comes from being deeply rooted in Christ (Matthew 4:1).* It is vital for us to seek guidance in the scriptures and remain vigilant, as the lure of temptation can sometimes be more accessible than the call to obey Christ.

3. *Triumphant Entry (Palm Sunday)*: A moment of glory representing the acknowledgment of Jesus as the Messiah.

4. *The Last Supper of Jesus Christ*: A profound moment of communion and the institution of the Eucharist, which calls us to remember His sacrifice.

5. *The Suffering of Jesus*: His willingness to endure pain for our salvation teaches us about dedication and sacrifice.

6. *The Death of Jesus Christ*: A pivotal event that was foretold through numerous prophecies over centuries, reminding us that God's timing is perfect.

7. *The Resurrection of Jesus Christ*: This event is the cornerstone of our faith, affirming that death has been conquered.

8. *The Ascension of Jesus Christ*: His return to heaven assures us of His eternal reign and intercession on our behalf.

As we focus on the resurrection, *I want to emphasize that the death of Christ was not a mere accident; it was divinely orchestrated. We must understand that God is never rushed; He fulfills His promises according to His divine timeline.*

Reflecting on my own life, there have been moments of intense struggle, where despite my dedication to God's work, I saw little to no visible results; prophecies and encouragement from fellow believers sometimes felt like empty words.*Growth in faith often takes time, sometimes more than we anticipate.*

Understanding the scriptures is vital. *If you truly grasp the essence of God's word, your prayers may change from requests to a humble acceptance of God's will.*

Remember, God is sovereign, we cannot command Him as one might do to a fellow human.

Jesus Christ embodies the fullness of God. If Christ does not reign in your life, then Satan can easily take root and plant a tree.

It is crucial to examine your heart: if Jesus is not your guiding light, the influence of the adversary will prevail (Luke 24:5-6).

In 1 Thessalonians 4:14, we read that with the resurrection of Jesus, every Christian is also called to rise anew. It is essential to acknowledge that Jesus’ death was a singular, redemptive act; He did not die again. Instead, we find ourselves on a metaphorical ‘death row’— our time is limited, and it is imperative that we endeavor to live righteously, fostering peace with those around us.

Let us consider the truths of life:

1. Life can be cut short unexpectedly.

2. No one can extend their days beyond God's design.

As we celebrate this resurrection day, let it inspire a transformation in our hearts, especially among the youth and this generation. The temptations we face are often rooted in the desires of the flesh; hence,*we must strive to keep God as our most cherished inheritance.*

Let us conclude in prayer, asking that this year of resurrection plants good seeds in our lives.

May we be engraved to continually seek the path of righteousness and embrace the life-changing power of the resurrection, amen.
