TOPIC: USE YOUR MOUTH WISELY AS A POTENT WEAPON OF PRAYER AND PRAISE TO GOD.
TEXT: Luke 21:15
Luke 22: 15 KJV: "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist." God created you and I as instruments of worship, with a mouth to praise, evangelise and communicate with God in prayers. Let the words of God dwell richly in your heart, digest it and meditate on it practically put it into rightful use.
Matthew 12: 34 KJV: "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Before you speak, evaluate your words on the tablet of your heart. Don't run down anybody with your mouth as this constitute a sin against God who created the creature you're condemning.
Matthew 12: 37 KJV: "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Let your words be edifying, seasoned with grace.
Proverb 18: 21 KJV: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Confess positively and use your tongue wisely.
Isaiah 54: 17 KJV: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." Words are windows to your heart, and whoever speak adversely against you shall be condemned.
Ecclesiastes 5: 6 KJV: "Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?" Honour God with your words, fear Him and do the will of God and enjoy His manifold blessings. Be careful of what you say about situation and people around you.
You will see God in a new way. He will take over your battle and fight for you.Whatever is standing between you and your destiny shall be pulled down. Encouragement will replace discouragement. Where you have fallen, you will arise and hope will replace hopelessness. God will connect you to your divine helper and you will enjoy a resounding victory in Jesus name. Amen

TOPIC: LOVE OF GOD
TEXT: John 3:16
Our theme for this month of July is "Love & Forgiveness". I want to speak first on love. Somebody asked Jesus what the great commandment is, Matt. 22: 36 - 40 KJV:. "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." This means LOVE is the greatest thing. Then how do will love as ordered by Jesus? This is why my first message is on how God showed us love. How did God love us and we also must do same?
John 3: 16. KJV: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
In the above verse God loved us by sacrificing His only Son for us. This is sacrificial love. God is love and to give us love He sacrificed love which can be very painful. Even when we were at fault by sinning against Him, He found a way of bringing us back by Himself. He was not selfish to wait for us to beg Him because no amount of begging can restore the damage done to humanity. Only God can restore humanity back to its purpose.
God even tried to use man to restore man, no we continued in sin until His love brought final solution, a painful process of His Son's death.
This sacrificial type of love is what Jesus is talking about, not on to death but it mostly touching. Just as Jesus said in Matt. 10: 37-38. KJV: "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
This is the agape love.
Are you ready to accept the love of God and love like Him?
Then you are His child.

TOPIC: Christian love
TEXT: John 14:15, 1 John 5:3
As concluded in my message yesterday, I said Christians that are genuine must love as God loved us, that is sacrificially. Jesus said in John 14: 15, KJV: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." and in 1 John 5:3 He said, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."
Which means that all God expects from Christians is to keep or obey His commandments as our love for Him. What are the commandments? They are just the words that He has given to us through the Bible. We turn the logos to rhema without excuses. Our obedience must be complete, no subtraction nor addition. Just like our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the Apostles and other disciples did in the Bible. Many Christians misinterpret or misunderstand or misuse the Bible, that does not change God. It will only affect the person's relationship with God. Once the relationship is affected the last destination will definitely be affected.
Jesus said the commandments are not grievous which means they are not beyond our strength. They are simple but too simple for many to follow or look impossible which brings in believe and trust in God.
How must we love God? Jesus said we must love Him with all our hearts, souls and minds. KJV: "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment." We must love Him unconditionally, convenient or not, in season or out of season. Which means His word is final to obey no matter how it looks or feels. May God help us in Jesus name. Amen.
Check yourself today. Are you in full obedience to the word of God. That is your only way to love Him.
Pray that God will give you the grace and power to love Him.
