Youth Sunday & Helps Weekend Thanksgiving Service
Theme: The Power of Care (Acts 9:36–42)
Preacher: Sister Salisu
• God’s nature is to care, rescue, and restore. From Eden to Calvary, His love has always been expressed in compassion, healing, provision, and mercy (Genesis 3:21, Hebrews 4:15, John 3:16).
• Dorcas (Tabitha) in Acts 9:36–42 showed how simple acts of care can move heaven, touch lives, and even bring the dead back to life.
• Care is not just a feeling—it is a ministry and a reflection of God’s heart.
The Power of Care
1. Actions Speak – Your lifestyle is a testimony (Ezekiel 22:30).
2. Care Moves Heaven – Compassion attracts God’s attention and miracles (Acts 9:40, Psalms 41:1).
3. Kindness is a Loan to God (Proverbs 19:17, Matthew 25:4).
4. Neglect is Dangerous – Refusing to care can lead to judgment (Luke 16:19–25).
5. Care Reveals God’s Mind (Genesis 18:1–14).
Why Care Matters
• Care preaches Christ and demonstrates the Gospel (John 13:34–35).
• Failing to help others can hinder prayers (Proverbs 21:13).
• What you sow, you reap—care brings blessings (Galatians 6:7).
How to Show Care
1. Give to the needy & God’s work (Proverbs 31:20, Acts 10:38).
2. Preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15).
3. Pray for others (Job 42:10).
4. Forgive freely (Matthew 6:14).
5. Visit the sick, lonely, and helpless (Matthew 25:36).
6. Defend the defenseless (Isaiah 1:17).
Conclusion
True power lies in compassion. When we care, we reflect God’s heart and become channels of His love. Care transforms, heals, restores, and even resurrects. As believers, we are called not just to receive God’s love but to express it daily.
“If you are not born again, you are hurting yourself and denying others the love God desires to show through you” (John 3:3–5).
