St. Francis teaches us to live simple lives, detached from worldly pride and materialism. As Franciscan Sisters, we are called to embrace humility, contentment, and joyful poverty.

Love for God and Humanity
The Jubilee reminds us to deepen our relationship with God through prayer and to show genuine love and compassion to everyone, especially the poor, sick, abandoned, and marginalized.

The moment of grace and transformation when St. Francis encountered a man with leprosy, though the sight of the l***r filled him with horror and disgust, Francis got off his horse and kissed the l***r. The l***r put out his hand, hoping to receive something. Out of compassion, Francis gave money to the l***r. It later dawned on him that the l***r he kissed was Christ.

St. Francis was transformed from a man of great wealth and privileges to the servant of the poor.

Prayer for the Jubilee of St. Francis:
Saint Francis, our brother, you who eight hundred years ago
went to meet Sister Death as a man at peace,
intercede for us before the Lord.
You recognized true peace in the Crucifix of San Damiano,
teach us to seek in Him the source of all reconciliation
that breaks down every wall.
You who, unarmed, crossed the lines of war
and misunderstanding,
give us the courage to build bridges
where the world raises up boundaries.
In this time afflicted by conflict and division,
intercede for us so that we may become peacemakers:
unarmed and disarming witnesses of the peace that comes from Christ.
