A large contingent of visually impaired and physically challenged Muslims from Lagos Island converged on the Lagos Central Mosque today for a thanksgiving programme.

We were taken aback by the unexpected news of the demise of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Alhaji Olashewere Ibrahim (Imam Ibrahim s family of Lagos), who was laid to rest yesterday 9th of October 2025 at Okoyi Cemetery, following Islamic funeral rites.

May his soul rest in eternal peace with the righteous.

The Lagos Central Mosque has attained another distinction with the appointment of Imam Ratibi, as Imam Ibrahim Kosoko assumes leadership of the Banire Family Mosque.

The Animashaun family of Lagos organized a prayer session at the Lagos central mosque premise to commemorate the late Alhaji Sumonu Animashaun, who passed away 130 years ago, following the jummah service, which was led by the Grand Chief Imam of Lagos State, Fadilatul-Shaikh Sulaimon Oluwatoyin Abou Nolla.

Alhaji Abdul Ganiy Ayotunde Oloko has been unveiled as the new Imam of Mumuni Oloko Mosque by Mufasir Alhaji Imam Shakirudeen AbdulGafar, representing the Brazilian mosque district council, under the auspices of the Grand Chief Imam Of Lagos State Fadilatul-Shaikh Sulaimon Oluwatoyin Abou Nolla.

After a thorough evaluation, he was deemed the ideal candidate and formally invested as Imam, adhering to the customs of the Lagos central mosque.

May his term be beneficial to the Muslim ummah.
