GOD REMEMBERS

(Genesis 19:29) And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

In the midst of judgment, God showed mercy. As the cities of the plain faced destruction because of their sin, Lot was rescued. The reason given is remarkable: God remembered Abraham. Abraham had stood before God and interceded for others, and God honored that intercession by delivering Lot.

This verse reminds us that God never forgets His people, their prayers, or His promises. When circumstances seem overwhelming and it appears that darkness is prevailing, God is still at work behind the scenes. His remembrance is not merely a thought; it is an action. When God remembers, He intervenes, protects, provides, and delivers.

Perhaps you have been praying for a loved one, waiting for God to answer, or trusting Him in a difficult situation. Take courage today. The God who remembered Abraham still remembers His children. He sees every prayer, every tear, and every act of faith. His timing is perfect, and His mercy is abundant.

Let this truth encourage you to persevere in prayer and trust. Even when judgment surrounds the world, God knows how to preserve those who belong to Him.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You because You are faithful and You never forget Your children. Strengthen my faith to trust in Your promises and continue in prayer. Remember my loved ones and extend Your mercy to them. Help me to rest in the assurance that You are always working for Your glory and my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord Jesus remember me in your mercy as I daily surrender my life to you.

THE SMOKE OF JUDGEMENT

(Genesis 29:28)
“And he looked toward S***m and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.”

The sight Abraham witnessed was sobering. The cities of S***m and Gomorrah, once thriving and prosperous, had become a scene of destruction. The smoke rising like a furnace was a visible reminder that God's warnings are not empty words. His judgment is real, and His holiness cannot overlook persistent sin forever.

Yet this passage is not only about judgment; it also points us to God's mercy. Before the destruction came, God provided a way of escape for Lot and his family. The same God who judges sin also extends grace to those who trust and obey Him.

In our lives, the consequences of sin may not always be immediate, but they are certain unless we turn to God. The smoke over S***m reminds us to take God's Word seriously, to repent when He convicts us, and to walk in obedience. It also encourages us to intercede for others, just as Abraham did, praying that they may find God's mercy before judgment comes.

Today, let us examine our hearts and ensure that we are walking closely with the Lord. His mercy is available, but we must not ignore His call to repentance.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and patience toward us. Help us to take Your Word seriously and to live lives that honor You. Keep us from the paths that lead to destruction, and give us hearts that are quick to repent and obey. May we also pray faithfully for others to experience Your saving grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord judgement me in your mercy as I daily carry my cross following you.

DON'T LOOK BACK

(Genesis 19:26) “But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”

As God delivered Lot and his family from the destruction of S***m, He gave them a clear instruction: do not look back. Yet Lot's wife disobeyed. Though her body was leaving the city, her heart was still attached to what she was leaving behind. One backward glance revealed a divided heart, and it led to a tragic consequence.

This passage teaches us that following God requires complete trust and obedience. Many people desire God's blessings and deliverance, yet they struggle to let go of old habits, sinful lifestyles, worldly attachments, or past experiences. God calls His children not only to leave sin but also to stop longing for it.

When God leads us forward, looking back with regret can hinder our spiritual growth. The Christian life is a journey of faith, keeping our eyes fixed on the Lord and His promises rather than on what He has called us to leave behind.

If God has delivered you from a harmful past, do not return to it in your heart. Trust that His plans ahead are far better than anything left behind.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, help me to obey You completely and to trust Your leading. Give me the strength to let go of anything that pulls my heart away from You. Keep my eyes fixed on Christ and the future You have prepared for me. May I never look back with longing for what You have called me to leave behind. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord Jesus Christ I looked forward to the day of your coming. Help me to stand firm with you all day long.

ACCEPTED BY MERCY

(Genesis 19:21) "And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken."

God’s mercy is one of the greatest gifts we can ever experience. Lot was living in dangerous times, with judgment about to fall upon the land. Yet in the middle of that fearful moment, God listened to his plea and granted him favor. What a comforting reminder that God hears the cries of those who call upon Him sincerely.

There are moments in life when we feel weak, uncertain, or undeserving of help. But this verse shows that God is compassionate and willing to respond to humble prayers. Lot asked for mercy, and God accepted his request. In the same way, God still listens today. No matter how difficult the situation may seem, His mercy can provide protection, direction, and deliverance.

This passage also reminds us that when God gives instructions, obedience is important. Lot had to move forward and leave the place of destruction behind. Sometimes God calls us to walk away from harmful habits, wrong influences, or spiritual complacency so we can enter the safety of His will.

Do not underestimate the power of prayer. A heartfelt cry to God can change situations, open doors, and bring divine intervention. The God who accepted Lot’s request is still the same today.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and kindness toward me. Help me to trust You completely and obey Your voice without hesitation. Hear my prayers, guide my steps, and keep me safe in Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: O Lord accept me by your mercy and grant me grace to know you more.

ESCAPING WITHOUT LOOKING BACK

(Genesis 19:17) And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

God’s mercy was evident in Lot’s life. Though judgment was coming upon S***m, the Lord provided a way of escape for him and his family. The instruction was urgent and direct: flee, do not remain, and do not look back.

Many times, God calls us out of harmful paths, sinful habits, unhealthy relationships, or spiritual compromise. Yet the challenge is not only leaving those things behind, but refusing to keep our hearts attached to them. Looking back often reveals a divided heart.

God desires complete obedience. When He leads us forward, He wants us to trust Him fully, even when the future seems uncertain. The safest place for a believer is in obedience to God’s voice. Delayed obedience can expose us to unnecessary struggles, but quick obedience brings protection and peace.

Today, God is reminding you not to remain in places He has called you out of. Keep moving forward. Do not allow the past to pull you away from the purpose and safety found in Christ.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for Your mercy and for leading me away from destruction. Help me to obey You without hesitation and not to look back at the things You have delivered me from. Strengthen my faith to move forward into Your will for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Forever I will look unto Jesus Christ to guide me all the way to the kingdom.

AVOID ALL FORMS OF WICKEDNESS

(Genesis 19:5) And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

This verse reveals the deep wickedness that had filled S***m. The people were no longer ashamed of sin; they openly pursued evil and rejected godly ways. Sin had hardened their hearts to the point where they could no longer discern right from wrong.

The story reminds us that when people continually reject God, darkness increases. A society without the fear of God becomes dangerous and corrupt. Yet in the middle of that corruption, God still remembered Lot and brought deliverance to him. This shows that God knows how to preserve those who remain faithful even in ungodly environments.

As believers, we are called to stand for righteousness no matter the condition of the world around us. We must guard our hearts, avoid compromise, and stay close to God through prayer and obedience. The world may grow darker, but God still calls His people to be lights.

Lessons from the Verse

Sin grows when people reject God repeatedly.

God sees the wickedness of humanity and will judge evil.

The righteous must remain faithful even in corrupt environments.

God is able to deliver His people from destruction.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, help me to walk in holiness and truth. Keep my heart from the corruption of this world. Give me strength to stand for righteousness even when others choose evil. Let Your Spirit guide me daily, and preserve me from every form of sin and compromise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: l surrender my life to Jesus Christ today so that I may live my life to please him and to avoid every form of wickedness.

NOT BY YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

(Titus 3:5)
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

This verse reminds us that salvation is not something we can earn through good works or personal righteousness. No matter how much we try, our efforts alone cannot save us. It is only by the mercy of God that we are redeemed and made new.

God did not wait for us to become perfect before reaching out to us. In His love and compassion, He saved us through Jesus Christ, cleansing us from sin and giving us a new spiritual life. The “washing of regeneration” speaks of being born again—a complete inner cleansing and transformation. The “renewing of the Holy Ghost” reminds us that the Holy Spirit continues to work in us daily, shaping us to become more like Christ.

This truth should humble our hearts and fill us with gratitude. We cannot boast in ourselves; all glory belongs to God. Our confidence must rest not in our own goodness, but in His abundant mercy and grace.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for saving me, not because of my own righteousness, but because of Your great mercy. Thank You for washing me clean and giving me new life through Your Holy Spirit. Continue to renew my heart and transform my life each day. Help me to walk in humility, always depending on Your grace and not on my own strength. Let my life reflect gratitude for the salvation You have freely given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALTAR CALL: I rejoice in the righteousness in Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord. My life is always preserved in you as my redeemer.

KINDNESS AND LOVE

(Titus 3:4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Epistle to Titus 3:4 reveals one of the most beautiful truths in Scripture: God did not leave humanity in sin and hopelessness. After mankind had wandered in disobedience and darkness, the kindness and love of God appeared through Jesus Christ. Salvation is not because man became worthy, but because God is merciful and loving.

This verse reminds us that God’s nature is full of compassion. Even when people fail Him, His desire is still to save, restore, and draw them back to Himself. The appearance of His love was fully shown through the coming of Christ, who brought grace, forgiveness, and eternal life to mankind.

As believers, we should never doubt the love of God. His kindness reaches beyond our past mistakes and weaknesses. When we remember how gracious God has been to us, we are also encouraged to show kindness, patience, and love toward others.

May your heart rest today in the assurance that God’s love for you is real, faithful, and everlasting.

PRAYER: Father God, please show me your kindness and everlasting love in my journey with you.

ALTAR CALL: I surrender my life to Jesus Christ today because of his kindness and love towards me.

CONTROL YOUR SINFUL DESIRES

(Titus 3:3) For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Epistle to Titus 3:3 reminds us of who we were before the transforming grace of God entered our lives. The apostle Paul the Apostle describes the old life as foolish, disobedient, deceived, and controlled by sinful desires. A life without God often leads to confusion, bitterness, envy, and broken relationships.

This verse teaches humility. As believers, we should never look down on others because we too were once lost and in need of mercy. The change in our lives is not because we were better than others, but because God showed us kindness and grace.

It is also a warning to examine our hearts. Anything that pulls us away from God — pride, hatred, jealousy, or sinful pleasures — can gradually harden the heart. Christ calls us to leave the old nature behind and walk in love, purity, and obedience.

When you remember where God brought you from, gratitude grows in your heart. Instead of judging others, you become more patient, compassionate, and willing to pray for those who are still struggling.

PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for saving me from my old ways. Help me never to return to the life of sin and bitterness. Fill my heart with humility, love, and compassion for others. Teach me to live in a way that honors You every day. Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord in you, I surrender my sinful desires so that I may live my life to please you.

SPEAK EVIL OF NO ONE

(Titus 3:2) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Epistle to Titus reminds believers that our words and attitudes matter deeply before God:

In a world filled with arguments, insults, and harsh opinions, God calls His people to live differently. Speaking evil of others destroys peace, but gentleness reflects the character of Christ. Meekness is not weakness; it is strength under control. A meek person chooses patience instead of pride and kindness instead of conflict.

This verse teaches that true Christianity is not only about what we believe, but also about how we treat people. Whether dealing with friends, strangers, leaders, or even those who disagree with us, God wants us to respond with humility and grace.

Sometimes people may provoke us, misunderstand us, or speak badly about us. Yet the Holy Spirit helps us remain calm, gentle, and respectful. Our conduct can become a testimony that draws others closer to God.

Prayer

Lord, help me to guard my words and actions. Teach me to be gentle, peaceful, and humble toward everyone. Remove anger, pride, and harshness from my heart, and let my life reflect the character of Jesus Christ. Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord Jesus help me to be meek and gentle as you are, in my relationship with others.

OBEY AUTHORITY
(Titus 3:1) Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

In Epistle to Titus 3:1, Paul the Apostle reminds believers that true Christianity is seen not only in words, but also in conduct. God calls His people to live with humility, respect for authority, and readiness to do good.

“Be subject to principalities and powers” teaches us to honor lawful authority and live peacefully in society. “Obey magistrates” points to being disciplined and responsible citizens. Then Paul adds, “be ready to every good work,” showing that believers should always be willing to help, serve, encourage, and reflect Christ through action.

As Christians, we are not called to rebellion, pride, or laziness. We are called to be examples of righteousness in our homes, schools, churches, and communities. A life surrendered to God will naturally produce good works that glorify Him.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to live in obedience, humility, and readiness to do good. Let my life reflect the character of Christ in all I do. Amen.

ALTAR CALL: Lord Jesus Christ, I surrender my life to your supreme authority.
