SATURDAY 4 DECEMBER, 2021. HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR VISION (1)

“They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:16 NKJV


YOU DON’T get to decide God’s purpose for your life, you discover it. How? Through prayer. God says, “I know the plans I have for you” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT). Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. You may be overwhelmed with problems, but God sees your potential. David’s family didn’t think he would amount to much. But where they saw a shepherd boy, God saw a king. Looking back, David wrote: “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me… I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” (Psalm 139:16-18 NLT). You’re unique—and so is God’s plan for you. It’s encouraging to read stories and listen to great achievers and think, “If they can do it, so can I!” However, the secret is to learn from others without trying to duplicate them. It’s not enough to have a good idea; it must be the will of God. You don’t get to decide what your vision will be; you discover it by seeking God for direction. And His Word says He will give it to you: “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21 NKJV). That way you know it’s “from the mouth of the Lord.”

*WORD FOR TODAY*
Everything that has been given to you is a seed into your life, expected to germinate and produce fruits for the benefit of others. The more your opportunities the greater your responsibilities!!!

*Scriptural Reference*
"For everyone to whom much is given, of him shall much be required; and of him to whom men entrust much, they will require {and} demand all the more." (Luke 12:48B).

The scope of your work and the perspective of your journey in destiny will go a long way to determine the opportunities that will come your way.

When opportunity comes your way in any aspect of your life, have at the back of your heart that the expectation of God increases accordingly.

Therefore, in the time of your incapacitation in any aspect of life, make the best use of the privileges that come your way and grow them to benefit others.

You are a steward on account of God's blessings, miracles, intervention, divine encounter and other wonderful possessions of life.

When the Lord manifests Himself greatly on your behalf, it is not a time to merry but to get to work and live up to His expectations for you.

Is the Lord pleased with your services as a steward?

Lord! Help me to live up to Your expectations. Let not your investments in my life be in vain in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

*FOCUS: SINFUL SOLUTION*

*WORD FOR TODAY*
Every solution that emanates from a sinful act can never be of help but can lead to death. The real solution to life's problems comes through righteousness!!!

*Scriptural Reference*
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NKJV).

The remuneration of a man who commits sins for any reason is death.

Whatever solution a man seeks that comes from other sources than God plunges such into sin that will lead to his destruction.

As you proceed in destiny, be mindful of the fact that sin can never proffer solutions to various issues that will come your way.

We don't know the suggestion of sin to the likes of Gehazi and Achan but we know that the act of sin brought about their destruction.

The most important enemy you have as you proceed in destiny is the devil. Taking suggestions for solutions from your enemy is regarded as foolishness.

Never subscribe to any offer that comes from a sinful act; the way of the Lord is the way of wisdom!!!

What manner of solution do you seek?

Lord! Help me to seek You and always find You in every situation in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

*FOCUS: THE MERCY DROPS IN OUR LIVES*

*WORD FOR TODAY*
Most of our needs are not met with bountiful blessings but majorly by mercy drops. Mercy drops prepare a life for divine showers!!!

*Scriptural Reference*
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." (Lamentation 3:22-23 NKJV)

Some men have material possessions, yet they don't enjoy life because they don't have peace, joy, satisfaction and fulfilment. Equally, there are some who don't have much, they have no wealth in terms of money and material possessions but they enjoy life because the Lord, at every point in time, meets their needs by His mercy.

The mercy of God that is made available for you on a daily basis is what keeps you going in the journey of destiny. When David was keeping his father's sheep, a bear and a lion came at different times to attack the sheep but David killed them respectfully. The mercy drops over his life gave him the required confidence to confront and defeat Goliath and the victory brought him to the limelight of the fulfilment of his mandate (1Sam 17).

The cumulative mercies of God are the bedrock of what you will be. The testimonies of the mercy drop, in various aspects of life, are the required confidence to approach your future. Why not appreciate God for who He has been to you and what He is set to do in your life.

*Question For Meditation*
What would you have become without the mercy of God?

*Prayer Point*
Lord! Do not withhold Your mercy from my life; continue to lead me on in destiny by Your mercy in Jesus name. Amen!

*Emphasis*
We are not consumed not because we have everything we desire but because of God's mercy!!!

*WORD FOR TODAY*
The reason why you must always allow God to go before you in the journey of destiny is that what is ahead of you will always be hidden from you. Knowing the will of God and walking in the direction of God's word for you is critical to living successfully in destiny!!!

*Scriptural Reference*
"I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron." (Isaiah 45:2 NKJV)

The Israelites were rejoicing when they were leaving Egypt and advancing towards the land of their promise. They were ignorant of the red sea, mara and manna experiences of the wilderness, but God already knew what to do on those occasions.

The assurance that every crooked place will be made straight and every gate of bronze and bars of iron of hindrances will be broken in pieces are possible only when the Lord goes ahead of you. As long as you live, one limitation you will not be able to overcome is the knowledge of what is ahead.

The recommendation of God on the way we should live is by faith. Hence, we are not expected to live our lives in isolation from God our creator. Don't use your experiences in life to determine your next move but be led by the spirit. Various life's complexities and complications can be avoided if a man will seek and walk in the will of God for his life.

Do you know what is ahead of you?

Lord! I receive the grace to always seek Your will and walk in them in Jesus name. Amen!!!

*FOCUS : REJOICE IN THE LORD – ALWAYS*

Scripture For The Day:
John 16:33 ‘These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.’

WORD FOR THE DAY:
The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow, while good circumstances produce joy and peace. That’s bo***ge, and does not have to be the case for a Christian. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy.

The way we take advantage of this joy and peace in the midst of tribulation, is to have our minds and hearts stayed on things above and not on things of this earth. The invisible things of God are eternal while the visible problems on earth are only temporary. All the problems of this life grow very dim when we compare them to the glory of God that is ours through Jesus.

We can rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4) because rejoicing is an action, not a reaction to our environment. Joy is a gift from God that was given to us at salvation. It was placed within our born-again spirit and it doesn’t fluctuate or diminish; it is constant. The Lord has put the joy inside us and we are to ‘work it out’ by choosing to obey this command in scripture.

We are commanded to rejoice ‘IN THE LORD.’ Many people are not experiencing true joy because their joy is in their circumstances. That is, they are waiting to rejoice when things in their lives are going good, and that doesn’t happen very often. We are suppose to ‘rejoice in the Lord always.’

That means we are supposed to rejoice in who the Lord is and what He has done for us. He never changes (Heb. 13:8) and His mercies and compassions are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23).
