SERMON TOPIC: THE HOLY SPIRIT

Acts 1:8 (KJV)
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me"
The Holy Spirit is not just a force or feeling,He is the third Person of the Trinity, sent to dwell in believers, guide them, empower them, and transform their lives. Every believer’s effectiveness in the Christian walk depends on their relationship with the Holy Spirit.
WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
The Holy Spirit is a Person, not an “it” (John 14:16-17)
He is God Himself, equal with the Father and the Son (Matthew 28:19)
He lives inside believers (1 Corinthians 6:19)
You are never alone,the Holy Spirit lives in you.
THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
1. Teacher and Guide – John 14:26
He teaches truth and reminds you of God’s Word.
2. Helper and Comforter – John 16:7
He strengthens you in weakness and gives peace.
3. Convicter of Sin – John 16:8
He corrects and leads you into righteousness.
4. Empowerer for Service – Acts 1:8
He gives boldness and spiritual power.
Without the Holy Spirit, Christian living becomes difficult and powerless.
HOW TO RELATE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Desire Him – Matthew 5:6
Obey Him – Acts 5:32
Yield to Him daily – Galatians 5:16
Avoid grieving Him – Ephesians 4:30
The Holy Spirit works best in a yielded and obedient heart.
LESSONS TO LEARN
1. The Holy Spirit is Essential, Not Optional
You cannot live a victorious Christian life without Him.
(Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might, nor by power…”)
2. Sensitivity to the Spirit Must Be Developed
The more you listen and obey, the clearer His voice becomes.
(Romans 8:14)
3. The Holy Spirit Produces Godly Character
He transforms you from within.
(Galatians 5:22-23 – Fruit of the Spirit)
PRAYER POINTS
1. Prayer for Infilling
“Father, fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and let Your power be evident in my life.”
(Luke 11:13)
2. Prayer for Sensitivity
“Holy Spirit, help me to hear Your voice clearly and obey You promptly.”
(Isaiah 30:21)
3. Prayer for Transformation
“Holy Spirit, produce Your fruit in me and make me more like Christ daily.”
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
The Holy Spirit is God’s greatest gift to the believer. When you walk with Him, you walk in power, wisdom, and victory. Don’t ignore Him—build a daily relationship with Him.
