SERMON TOPIC: THE HOLY SPIRIT

Acts 1:8 (KJV)
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me"

The Holy Spirit is not just a force or feeling,He is the third Person of the Trinity, sent to dwell in believers, guide them, empower them, and transform their lives. Every believer’s effectiveness in the Christian walk depends on their relationship with the Holy Spirit.

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
The Holy Spirit is a Person, not an “it” (John 14:16-17)
He is God Himself, equal with the Father and the Son (Matthew 28:19)
He lives inside believers (1 Corinthians 6:19)
You are never alone,the Holy Spirit lives in you.

THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
1. Teacher and Guide – John 14:26
He teaches truth and reminds you of God’s Word.
2. Helper and Comforter – John 16:7
He strengthens you in weakness and gives peace.
3. Convicter of Sin – John 16:8
He corrects and leads you into righteousness.
4. Empowerer for Service – Acts 1:8
He gives boldness and spiritual power.
Without the Holy Spirit, Christian living becomes difficult and powerless.

HOW TO RELATE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Desire Him – Matthew 5:6
Obey Him – Acts 5:32
Yield to Him daily – Galatians 5:16
Avoid grieving Him – Ephesians 4:30
The Holy Spirit works best in a yielded and obedient heart.

LESSONS TO LEARN
1. The Holy Spirit is Essential, Not Optional
You cannot live a victorious Christian life without Him.
(Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might, nor by power…”)

2. Sensitivity to the Spirit Must Be Developed
The more you listen and obey, the clearer His voice becomes.

He transforms you from within.

The Holy Spirit is God’s greatest gift to the believer. When you walk with Him, you walk in power, wisdom, and victory. Don’t ignore Him—build a daily relationship with Him.

DIVINE PROTECTION IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR YOU

In times of uncertainty and danger, God Word gives us unshakable assurance of safety. Psalm 91:7 reveals a powerful promise that even when destruction surrounds you, God sets a boundary of protection around your life. This scripture reminds us that as children of God, we are not victims of circumstances but carriers of divine covering. PRAY WITH FAITH

Heavenly Father, by Your Word in Psalm 91:7, I declare that no matter the dangers around me, I am preserved. Though others may fall, I will stand secure under Your covering. Shield me and my household from every harm, seen and unseen, in Jesus mighty name.

Father, I come against every sudden attack, accident, or evil occurrence around me. According to Psalm 91:7, let destruction be far from me. I reject every plan of the enemy and decree that it shall not come near my dwelling, in Jesus mighty name.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is the foundation of the Christian life. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is what connects us to God’s promises even when we cannot see immediate results.

Faith is not just believing,it is trusting God completely, even in uncertainty. It is standing on God’s Word regardless of what circumstances say.

WHAT IS FAITH?
Faith is:
Confidence in God’s promises
Trust in God’s character
Believing without seeing
Acting on God’s Word

HOW TO ACQUIRE AND GROW IN FAITH
1. By Hearing the Word of God
Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
The more you hear God’s Word, the stronger your faith becomes.

2. By Studying and Meditating on the Word
Joshua 1:8
Meditation builds conviction and strengthens your belief.

3. Through Prayer
Luke 17:5 – “Lord, increase our faith.”
Faith grows when you stay connected to God in prayer.

4. By Acting on the Word (Obedience)
James 2:17 – “Faith, if it hath not works, is dead…”
Faith grows when you practice what you believe.

5. Through Trials and Testing
James 1:3 – “The trying of your faith worketh patience.”
Challenges strengthen and mature your faith.

WHAT CAN FAITH DO?
1. Faith Moves Mountains

Faith can remove obstacles and impossibilities.

2. Faith Brings Answers to Prayers

Faith connects you to answered prayers.

3. Faith Overcomes Fear
When faith rises, fear disappears.
