The Deputy Governor of Lagos State and the flag bearer of All Progressive Congress (APC) for 2027 gubernatorial election Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat urged Lagoscians to keep faith in him and his party to continue the landmark development strides of the incumbent administration in the state.
Dr Hamzat made this statement when he visited the leadership of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria at the Church international Headquarters, Km 40, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Asese Area.
While addressing the Church Dr. Hamzat quoted the part of the scriptures that says "Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it"
We are here because we have started our journey with the belief that we need to seek the face of GOD and this we are doing by visiting religious leaders in the state to pray for us and seek their support as we move towards 2027.
We seek spiritual guidance, wise counsel and prayers.
Hence our visit to you our leaders is to support us all the way so that Lagos State will continue to grow.
Speaking on behalf of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Church, His Eminence Baba Aladura Emmanuel Omoniyi Owomoyela congratulated Dr. Hamzat over his choice as his party’s flag-bearer for the 2027 gubernatorial election. Baba Aladura Owomoyela recalled that the Cherubim & Seraphim Church had always joined hands with successive governments in building Lagos State as the church was founded in the state in 1925.
However, Eld Owomoyela said as a Church we are apolitical yet we are pleased with your endorsement by your party. We encourage you remember that leadership is a sacred trust. Public office is not a merely a position of honour but a call to selfless service.
We therefore urged you, "if entrusted with the mandate of the people to govern with the fear of God, fairness to all citizens without discrimination, transparency in public affairs and unwavering commitment to the development of every community.
Elder Owomoyela assured the Lagos Deputy Governor that “We will continue to mobilise our members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), participate peacefully in elections and vote conscientiously for leaders and policies that will advance development, good governance and prosperity for Lagos State.”
The Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria stands ready to be a dependable partner - not only in prayer but also in service, mobilisation, advocacy, youth and women empowerment and nation-building.He said.
