WE’RE ON THE WINNING SIDE

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field (Matthew 13:44).

The whole world belongs to Jesus. He bought the whole field. The 38th verse of the same chapter lets us know that the field is the world: “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one.” He rules the world!

His dominion and rulership over the world is absolute. He’s “…in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever” (Ephesians 1:21 MSG).

The Bible says, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). Hallelujah! This means the whole world belongs to us, because we’re heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:17). It’s the reason we can tame this world and keep it under our dominion, in line with God’s purpose. It’s the reason we can completely forbid Satan and his cronies of darkness from wreaking havoc upon the nations.

To have the Antichrist’s policies in the nations of the world while we (the Church of Jesus Christ) are still here isn’t going to happen. We’re the restraining force against Satan and his antichrist activities, and we’re very much in office. We’ve taken our place. The Antichrist can only be in charge after the Rapture of the Church. As long as we’re here, he’s liquidated!

The Antichrist is going to function with Satan’s power: “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon (the devil) gave him (the antichrist) his power, and his seat, and great authority”*_ (Revelation 13:2). But blessed be God! We already have authority over Satan; therefore, it makes no difference what power Satan is going to give to the Antichrist; it’s nothing compared to our dominion and authority in Christ. Hallelujah! Maintain your focus on the Word of God; let nothing move you. You’re on the winning side.

CONFESSION

*UNDERSTANDING THE GOSPEL.*

_*For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth… (Romans 1:16).*_

To walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel, you must first understand what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. That’s when you can really believe it. Proverbs 4:7 says, _*“…with all thy getting get understanding.”*_ Understanding the Gospel is so important. Paul said, _*“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”*_ (Romans 1:16).

So, what’s the Gospel? In a nutshell, it’s the Word of God concerning Jesus Christ: who He is and His mission; what He came to do. Having this understanding is imperative to living a consistently victorious Christian life.

Jesus told a parable of the sower that went forth to sow, and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside and the birds of the air came and picked them up. In His interpretation, Jesus said the seed is the Word of God. He went further to say that the seeds that fell by the wayside are those who hear the Word of God and don’t understand it; then Satan comes immediately and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts (Mark 4:15). The Word actually got into their hearts, but because they lacked understanding, the devil took it away from them. You need to understand the message of the Gospel. Once you understand it, you’re set for life; you’ll never need “another fire,” because you’ve come to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life.

No wonder the Spirit prays through Paul in Ephesians 1:18: _*“that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened to know the hope of God’s calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance amongst them that are sanctified.”*_ Every so often, affirm that you have an understanding heart, and that the mysteries of the Gospel are unveiled to your spirit, and you walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel every day. Hallelujah!

*Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).*

The Apostle Paul was letting us know in our opening verse that we’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. He strengthens the thought further in 1 Corinthians 3:21 when he says, “…all things are yours.” In the same vein, the Apostle Peter tells us that God’s “…divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3 NKJV).

It’s one thing to know that you’ve been blessed with and in all things, but it’s another thing to actually take possession of the blessings. The key is connecting with your faith; that’s what Abraham did. In Genesis 17:5 NKJV, God said to him, “…I have made you a father of many nations.” Abraham connected with his faith; he had to see with the eyes of his mind.

The Bible says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. He believed, because he had visualized the reality of his children as he attempted to number the stars (Genesis 15:5). By faith, he saw and accepted the reality of God’s Word in his spirit, spoke it forth, and it came to pass.

Romans 4:20-22 says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” Learn to visualize and take a hold of God’s provisions for you in Christ Jesus. Refuse to stagger at God’s Word through unbelief; take a hold of your blessings first in the spirit, and speak them forth.

*Dear Father, I thank you for enlightening the eyes of my understanding through your Word. I’m the seed of Abraham and all things are mine. I’m a champion forever! The eyes of my mind are open to visualize and take a hold of every good thing that belongs to me in Christ Jesus, to the praise and glory of your name, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

HE’S FOREVER THE SAME

...Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (HEBREWS 13:8).

When we say, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever,” it isn’t a statement we made up, neither is it a cliché. It’s absolute TRUTH and it came from the Scriptures! Jesus hasn’t changed. He’s the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Oftentimes when people go through difficulties, in their frustration, they cry, “Oh God, where are you?” The reason is that they’re ignorant of the fact that God has already laid out a good plan for them (Ephesians 2:10). He has a good plan for every man, woman, boy or girl.

Nevertheless, except and unless they look into the Scriptures, they may never discover that plan. And when they don’t discover it, they may cry, beg or plead, and it’ll look like God isn’t listening to them; meanwhile, He already provided the solution ever before they were born. But how can they know, except someone shows it to them? (Romans 10:14). That’s why He sent us to preach the Gospel.

The Bible, for example, tells us in Psalm 33:5 that “…the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.” Yet, the experience of a good number of people is one of sadness, pain, frustration. Why is it so? Has God changed? Absolutely not!

There’re two major reasons for this, aside ignorance: the number one reason is that there’s a devil that makes them blind to God’s perfect will. The second reason is that other human beings who are inspired by Satan and the demons of darkness afflict other people with their selfishness and greed. They’ve used their own wickedness to frustrate other men. It’s man’s inhumanity to man.

God knew what would happen and that’s the reason He planned the answer long before you came. The answer is Jesus Christ! If you embrace the life that He brought and walk in the light of it, His glory will be manifested in your life. And in spite of the two aforementioned factors, you can use the power of His Name to live above Satan and the systems of this world. His Name has power in heaven, in the earth, and under the earth.

A TREE BEARING EXCELLENT FRUITS

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm (Daniel 6:3).

The Bible says an excellent spirit was in Daniel. How would you like that to be said of you? Well, the same is true about you because the day you received the Holy Spirit into your life, the excellent Spirit came to live in you.

This excellent Spirit is manifested in you when you choose to let Him have His way in your life and when you accept the Scriptures as His real and perfect will and live accordingly. You’ll suddenly discover that everyone will be esteemed in your eyes. When you’re awakened to this truth, everything about you becomes top-class; your life becomes an expression of the perfections of Christ.

Daniel excelled above the presidents and satraps because they didn’t have an excellent spirit; rather, they had a bitter and complaining spirit. They saw that the king was always favourable towards Daniel and it hurt them, so they conspired against him out of bitterness.

When people who don’t have an excellent spirit see others being praised, promoted and commended, they get hurt. In Matthew 7:18, the Lord Jesus said, “A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration]” (AMPC).

Notice how He described an excellent fruit; He said it’s worthy of admiration. That’s amazing! What’s your life like? Is it worthy of admiration? If everyone turned out like you, will you be happy? If people behaved towards you the way you behave towards others, would you like it?

Let your life be a manifestation of the Spirit of excellence in you. Tower above envy, bitterness, anger and all the negativities of life, because you’re an excellent tree bearing excellent fruits: “Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit” (John 15:2 AMPC).

FEEDING ON THE WORD

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:2-3).

In Christianity, we emphasize studying and meditating on God’s Word because of what it produces in your life: ever-increasing glory! That’s what your life is for. The glory of God is in the Word, and that glory becomes more visible in your life as you consciously and consistently feed on the Word.

The Bible says, “...Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2). 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” These verses emphasize the ever-increasing glory in our spirit as we contemplate the Word.

If you don’t give undivided attention to the study, meditation, and practise of God’s Word, you inhibit His glory in your life. This has happened to some people without them even realizing it. They exposed themselves to news and information from negative sources other than the Word of God.

Remember, you’re what you eat; you become more and more like the information that you feed on. The Word of God is the glory of God; therefore, feed on the Word and your life will be increasingly excellent and full of glory. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Take the Word of God as God’s vision, opinion, thought, idea, law or principle. Above all, take His Word as truth—absolute reality. Be inundated with the Word so that all you think and talk is the Word. That’s the sure path to a life of ever-increasing glory.
