Celebrating the one who deserves it
Alif Dawah TV
Happy birthday to you sir
May almighty Allah bless ur new age 💖
Alhamdulillahi Always🤲 And Happy Birthday To Me.
Celebrating birthday is differennt from giving thanks to Allah for his numerous privilege. The Quran states, "And Allah has brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing. And He gave you hearing and sight and hearts that you might give thanks".
This verse highlights the blessings of hearing, sight, and the intellect (represented by the heart), and encourages gratitude for these gifts. The phrase "little are those who thanks" is a paraphrase of the verse's concluding sentiment, emphasizing that while Allah provides these blessings, many people do not express sufficient gratitude.
The verse appears in Surah Al-Mulk (67:23) and Surah An-Nahl (16:78). In both instances, the Quran emphasizes that these senses and the intellect are gifts from Allah, and that humans should be grateful for them.
Hearing and Sight:
These are fundamental senses that allow us to perceive the world around us, learn the Deen of Allah, and experience life.
Hearts (Intellect):
This refers to the capacity for understanding, reasoning, and making judgments.
Little Thanks:
The Quran frequently reminds is as the believers to be grateful for Allah's blessings, and this verse highlights a shortcoming in that regard. The emphasis on gratitude is a recurring theme in the Quran, urging believers to acknowledge God's generosity and express our thankfulness through worship and righteous actions.
We learn from Kitab al-Zuhd by Ahmad bin Hanbal
When Umar bin al-Khattab radi allahu `anhu (may God be pleased with him) was walking in the market, he passed by a man who was supplicating,
“O Allah, make us of Your ‘few’ servants! O Allah make us of Your ‘few’ servants!”
So ‘Umar said to him, “Where did you get this du`a’ (supplication) from?” And the man said, “Allah in His Book says ‘And few of My servants are grateful.'(Qur’an 34:13)” So ‘Umar wept and admonished himself, “The people are more knowledgeable than you, O Umar! O Allah make us of Your ‘few’ servants.”
So be of the “few”, whom Allah says about them:
وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنْ عِبَادِىَ ٱلشَّكُورُ
“And few of My servants are grateful.” (34:13)
Allah Reminded us about our ungratefulness in the following verseL
“And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, – a disbeliever.” 14: 34
“But none had believed with him, except a few.” (11:40)
“In the Gardens of Pleasure, A [large] company of the former peoples, And a few of the later peoples.” (56:12-14)
I quote "Ibn al-Qayyim (ra) said, “Go on the path of truth and do not feel lonely because there are few who take that path, and beware of the path of falsehood and do not be deceived by the greatness of the perishers.”
Yah Allah! Guide us a far from His wrath in this world, save us from the torment of the grave and protect us from the punishment of jahannam. May He admit us in the highest rank of His best paradise. Aameen.
