Ezekiel 18:20- The soul that sinneth,it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him,and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

INTRODUCTION:
After understanding that foundations matter in God’s economy, the next important question is this:
Does the Bible truly support the idea that unresolved actions can affect families, leadership lines, or future outcomes?
The answer is yes, but not in a fatalistic or hopeless way.
Scripture does not teach that people are punished arbitrarily for the sins of others. Rather, it reveals that unresolved spiritual matters can create liabilities that continue until they are addressed by truth, repentance, and divine intervention.
This day’s study examines biblical examples — not to scare believers, but to educate, warn, and provide hope through understanding.

WHAT BELIEVERS MUST KNOW:
1. Generational Liability Is Not the Same as Personal Condemnation
God makes an important distinction:“The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father…”
Ezekiel 18:20
This scripture establishes personal accountability.
Yet, God also says: “…visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me…”
Exodus 20:5–6
This reveals a different principle:
patterns, consequences, and spiritual conditions can be inherited if they are not corrected.
Judgment is personal.
Liability can be generational.

2. Achan – One Act, Corporate Impact
In Joshua 7, Achan took what was forbidden, thinking it was a private matter. Yet Israel lost a battle they should have won. “Israel hath sinned… therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies.”
Joshua 7:11–12
Key lesson:
One hidden act weakened an entire community.
Victory returned only after exposure, repentance, and correction.
This shows that hidden foundations can affect visible outcomes.

3. Eli – Failure of Leadership Correction
Eli did not commit the sins of his sons, but he refused to restrain them. “Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice… and honourest thy sons above me?”
1 Samuel 2:29
God’s judgment was not against Eli’s salvation, but against his house’s stewardship.
Result:
Priesthood removed
Glory departed
Influence ended
Lesson: Silence in leadership can be as damaging as rebellion.

4. David – Forgiven but Consequences Remained
David repented sincerely after his sin, and God forgave him. “The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.”
2 Samuel 12:13
Yet, consequences followed: “The sword shall never depart from thine house.”
2 Samuel 12:10
David was restored, but the foundation of his household was shaken.
This teaches us:
Forgiveness restores relationship
Wisdom is required to repair foundations

5. Why These Examples Matter Today
Many believers face:
Repeated struggles
Unexplained resistance
Patterns they did not start
Not because they are cursed, but because some issues require understanding before freedom can be enforced.
Paul prayed: “That ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”
Colossians 1:9
Deliverance often begins with light, not noise.

CONCLUSION:
The Bible does not hide these examples from us. They are written:
For warning
For learning
For correction
For hope. “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples…”
1 Corinthians 10:11
God reveals foundational truths not to condemn believers, but to position them for stable and enduring freedom.
Understanding these principles prepares us to receive Christ’s solution fully — not partially.

SCRIPTURE TO MEMORIZE. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father.”
Ezekiel 18:20

PRAYERS:

1. Prayer for Discernment
Father, grant me spiritual understanding to discern the roots of challenges in my life. Deliver me from confusion and lead me by Your truth, in Jesus name.
2. Prayer for Mercy and Correction
Lord, where there are unresolved matters affecting my foundation, release Your mercy and guide me into genuine repentance and correction, in Jesus name.
3. Prayer for Victory and Stability
By Your wisdom and power, establish my life upon righteous foundations. Let every inherited pattern contrary to Your will lose its influence over me, in Jesus’ name, in Jesus name.
Good morning and wishing you a prosperous new year.

Biblical Examples of Money Use — Those Who Honoured God and Those Who Withheld. Part 5(final)

Working Scripture
Luke 16:11 “If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?”
Date:31/12/25

FOR COUNSELING, PRAYERS AND QUESTIONS CONTACT:+2348034658464

INTRODUCTION:
Every teaching on money must end where Scripture ends—not with pressure, fear, or promises, but with truth and responsibility.
Money is not the goal of the believer’s life.
It is a tool, a test, and a trust.
God does not measure believers by how much they possess, but by how faithfully they steward what they have.
This final part answers three questions:
1. What does God truly expect from believers concerning money?
2. Why many believers struggle financially despite hard work?
3. How believers can walk in financial faithfulness without bo***ge or manipulation.

1. God’s Expectation: Faithfulness, Not Display
1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
God looks for:
Obedience, not noise
Integrity, not impressiveness
Consistency, not competition
Faithfulness is measured by obedience to God’s instruction, not by comparison with others.
Lesson:
God entrusts more to those who manage well what they already have.

2. Why Some Believers Labour Yet Struggle Financially
The Bible shows that poverty is not always laziness, and wealth is not always righteousness.
a. Lack of Knowledge
Hosea 4:6. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”
Many believers:
Love God sincerely
Work hard faithfully
But ignore biblical principles of stewardship
b. Disobedience and Misalignment
Haggai 1:6. “Ye have sown much, and bring in little…”
Money leaks when:
God’s order is neglected
Resources are spent without wisdom
c. Spiritual and Foundational Hindrances
Proverbs 26:2. “…the curse causeless shall not come.”
Scripture acknowledges:
Patterns
Cycles
Generational influences
But deliverance comes through truth, repentance, and alignment with God’s Word, not fear.

3. The Right Biblical Approach to Giving
2 Corinthians 9:7. “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity…”
Biblical giving:
Is willing
Is thoughtful
Is joyful
God does not manipulate His children. He invites them into partnership.
Lesson:
Any giving that produces fear, guilt, or pressure is outside God’s design.

4. True Riches Are Greater Than Money
Luke 16:11 distinguishes:
Unrighteous mammon
True riches
True riches include:
Wisdom
Peace
Divine trust
Eternal reward
Proverbs 10:22. “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”
Lesson:
Money without peace is poverty; peace with provision is wealth.

5. Final Charge to the Body of Christ
Matthew 6:33. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”
Believers are called to:
Work diligently
Give faithfully
Live contentedly
Trust God completely
Money must serve the Kingdom—not rule the heart.

CONCLUSION:
God entrusts money as a test of stewardship, not as proof of spirituality.
Luke 16:11 remains the standard:
Faithful in little
Faithful in much
Those who honour God with their substance walk in peace, provision, and purpose.

FINAL PRAYER

Father,
Deliver my heart from the love of money.
Teach me wisdom in stewardship.
Let my labour bring fruit without sorrow.
Entrust me with resources that will glorify You and bless others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Biblical Examples of Money Use — Those Who Honoured God and Those Who Withheld-Part4

INTRODUCTION:
God often teaches through examples, not theories.
The Bible clearly records how people handled money, how God responded, and the outcomes of their choices.
Money is not neutral in Scripture.
It is a test of stewardship, a revealer of the heart, and a gateway to greater trust.
Jesus makes it clear in Luke 16:11 that faithfulness with money precedes access to true riches—spiritual authority, influence, and divine assignment.
In this devotional, we examine two clear biblical paths:
1. Those who honoured God with their substance
2. Those who withheld, manipulated, or trusted riches wrongly

1. Those Who Honoured God with Their Money
a. Abraham — Wealth under Covenant Control
Genesis 13:2. “And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”
Abraham was wealthy, yet his wealth never controlled him.

He:
Built altars wherever he went
Walked by covenant, not by possessions
Was willing to release even Isaac when God demanded
Genesis 24:1. “And the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.”
Lesson:
Wealth becomes a blessing when it stays under covenant obedience.
b. Solomon — Honour Preceded Increase
1 Kings 3:4
Solomon gave a great offering unto the LORD.
God responded:
1 Kings 3:13“I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour…”
Lesson:
When God is honoured first, wealth follows wisdom—without struggle.
c. The Shunammite Woman — Provision through Service
2 Kings 4:8–17
She used her resources to:
Support God’s servant
Build a room for the prophet
Her reward:
Barrenness reversed
Sustenance during famine
Divine remembrance
Lesson:
Serving God with substance opens doors money alone cannot open.
d. The Early Church — Giving Released Power
Acts 4:34–35 “Neither was there any among them that lacked…”
Their giving produced:
No lack
Unity
Strong witness
Growth of the Church
Lesson:
Righteous giving strengthens both the Church and its testimony.

2. Giving to God’s Servants Is Giving to God
Philippians 4:18–19 “…an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Paul teaches that:
What was given to him was received by God
Their giving was worship, not loss
Divine supply followed faithful stewardship
Lesson:
God personally responds to giving that honours His work.

3. Those Who Withheld or Trusted Riches Wrongly
a. Ananias and Sapphira — Manipulated Giving
Acts 5:1–5
They:
Gave with deception
Wanted honour without truth
Outcome:
Judgment followed dishonesty
Lesson:
God values truthful stewardship, not pretended generosity.
b. The Rich Fool — Wealth without God
Luke 12:16–21
He stored abundance but:
Made no room for God
Prepared barns but not eternity
Outcome:
Life ended without profit
Luke 12:21 “So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Lesson:
Money without God ends in spiritual loss.
c. Judas Iscariot — Money over Ministry
John 12:6
Judas:
Loved money secretly
Betrayed destiny for silver
Outcome:
Lost apostleship
Died without restoration
Lesson:
Wrong relationship with money can destroy calling.

CONCLUSION:
Money is not evil.
But unfaithfulness with money disqualifies believers from greater trust.
Luke 16:11 reminds us:
Stewardship comes before entrustment
Faithfulness precedes authority
Honour opens doors wealth cannot force open
God still watches how His people handle resources.

PRAYER (Optional for the Digest)

Father,
Teach my hands to steward and my heart to honour You.
Deliver me from wrong attachments to money.
Make me faithful in little and trustworthy in much.
Let my substance glorify You and advance Your purpose.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
Good morning, compliment of the season and happy new year in advance.

Topic: God’s Financial Principles – Trust, Tithes, Offerings, and Kingdom Alignment-Part3

Working Scripture:
Proverbs 3:9–10 “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

INTRODUCTION:
God does not bless money randomly.
He blesses money that is aligned, honored, and submitted to His authority.
Many believers desire financial breakthrough but resist God’s financial order.
Others give, yet do not understand why they give, how they give, or who they give to.
This part of the devotional explains God’s financial principles, not as manipulation, but as obedient partnership with heaven.

1. Trusting the Lord as the Foundation of Financial Blessing
Before tithes, offerings, or seed, the foundation is trust.
Proverbs 3:5. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart…”
Money follows trust. Where trust is divided, blessing is resisted.
Some trust:
Salary more than God
Connections more than God
Skill more than God
Psalm 20:7. “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”
God will not share His glory with money.

2. The Place of Tithes — God’s Command, Not Church Invention
Malachi 3:10. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse…”
Key truths about tithes:
The tithe belongs to God
It is not a donation but obedience
It acknowledges God as source
Leviticus 27:30. “All the tithe… is the LORD’S.”
Tithing:
Repairs spiritual leaks
Invites divine rebuke against devourers
Aligns income with heaven
Malachi 3:11

3. Offerings — Expressions of Love and Partnership
Offerings are voluntary, unlike tithes.

2 Corinthians 9:7. “God loveth a cheerful giver.”
Offerings:
Demonstrate honor
Reveal the heart
Activate increase
Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you…”
The measure matters. The motive matters. The altar matters.

4. Giving to the Work of God and True Servants
Galatians 6:6 “Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.”
Giving to God’s servants:
Is counted as giving to God
Attracts divine remembrance
Releases reward
Matthew 10:41 “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.”
This requires discernment, not blind giving.

5. Warning: Giving Does Not Replace Obedience
Some give money but:
Disobey instructions
Refuse correction
Live unrighteously
1 Samuel 15:22“To obey is better than sacrifice…”
Giving cannot bribe God. Money without obedience becomes noise.

6. Benefits of Trusting the Lord with Your Substance
Psalm 112:1–3 “…wealth and riches shall be in his house…”
Benefits include:
Preservation
Stability
Generational blessing
Peace with increase
Isaiah 1:19 “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.”

CONCLUSION:
God’s financial system is not about pressure or pride.
It is about relationship, honor, and alignment.
Money that flows through obedience flows without sorrow.
Proverbs 10:22

PRAYERS:
1. Father, teach me to trust You fully with my finances.
2. Deliver me from fear and manipulation concerning giving.
3. Let my tithe and offerings speak for me before You.
4. Disconnect me from every devourer assigned to my income.
5. Use my substance to advance Your kingdom and glorify Your name. Amen.
Good morning and happy new Year in advance.

INTRODUCTION:
Many believers love God sincerely, pray fervently, work diligently, yet remain financially frustrated.
This reality has caused confusion, doubt, and silent questioning in the Body of Christ.
Poverty among believers is not always the result of laziness, lack of faith, or divine punishment.
The Bible reveals layers of causes—spiritual, foundational, and systemic—that must be understood to walk in liberty.
This devotional addresses these causes without condemnation, but with light and truth.

1. Spiritual Causes of Poverty
a. Lack of Knowledge
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”
Ignorance causes believers to:
Reject divine principles
Handle money carelessly
Fall into deception
Misapply spiritual truths
Faith without understanding leads to frustration.
b. Disobedience to God’s Instructions
Deuteronomy 28:15. “If thou wilt not hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD…”
Delayed obedience produces delayed blessings.
God’s promises are conditional, not automatic.
c. Prayerlessness or Wrong Focus in Prayer
Some pray only for money, not for:
Wisdom
Direction
Correction
James 4:3. “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss…”

2. Foundational Powers and Ancestral Patterns
a. Evil Foundations
Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
Foundations affect:
Finances
Marriage
Career
Destiny
A good building on a weak foundation will collapse.
b. Polygamous Rivalry and Household Battles
In many families:
Rivalries breed spiritual contention
Envy invites limitation
Competition cages glory
Genesis 30:1 (Rachel and Leah)
Such conflicts can translate into:
Financial struggle
Rising and falling
Constant loss
c. Glory Caging and Destiny Suppression
Proverbs 20:21 “An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.”
Some believers:
Work hard
Receive opportunities
Lose everything mysteriously
This is often a spiritual issue, not effort-related.

3. Working but Ending in Holes and Baskets
Haggai 1:9“Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to little…”
Signs include:
Income with no savings
Sudden losses
Constant emergencies
Projects that never finish
This reflects:
Misalignment with God
Neglect of God’s house
Foundational contention

4. Getting Riches “Not by Right”
Jeremiah 17:11“As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right…”
This includes:
Fraud
Manipulation
Exploitation
Spiritual shortcuts
Such wealth:
Does not last
Invites shame
Ends in loss

5. Systemic and Environmental Factors
Not all poverty is spiritual. Some believers suffer due to:
Economic collapse
Poor governance
Lack of opportunity
Injustice
Ecclesiastes 9:11 “…the race is not to the swift…”
Yet God remains:
A restorer
A provider
A deliverer

CONCLUSION:
Believers are not poor because God enjoys suffering.
Poverty often results from hidden battles, broken principles, or unaddressed foundations.
Light precedes liberty.
Truth breaks cages.
John 8:32 “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

PRAYERS:
1. Father, expose every hidden cause of financial struggle in my life.
2. Let every foundation resisting my prosperity be corrected by Your truth.
3. Break every cycle of rising and falling in my finances.
4. Restore every blessing lost through ignorance or disobedience.
5. Align my labor with Your purpose, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Good morning and wishing you the best of this last Sunday of 2025.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL DIGEST(DDD)

Topic: Money in the Body of Christ – God’s View, Not Man’s-Part1

Working Scripture:
Ecclesiastes 7:12. “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
Date:27/12/25

FOR COUNSELING, PRAYERS AND QUESTIONS CONTACT:+2348034658464

INTRODUCTION:
Money is one of the most misunderstood, abused, and controversial subjects in the Body of Christ.
Some preach money as salvation.
Some condemn money as evil.
Some believers fear money, while others idolize it.
Yet the Bible is clear: money itself is not evil, but it is powerful, and power without wisdom destroys.
God never intended money to replace Him, but He also never intended His people to be helpless, stranded, or disgraced on earth.
This devotional seeks to establish God’s balanced truth about money in the Body of Christ.

1. Why Is Money Needed in the Body of Christ?
Money is needed because we live in a physical world governed by systems.
Money answers:
Food and shelter
Health needs
Education and training
Gospel propagation
Care for widows, orphans, and the weak
Kingdom assignments
Ecclesiastes 10:19. “…money answereth all things.”
This does not mean money answers spiritual salvation.
It means money answers practical earthly needs.
Even Jesus’ ministry required money:
The disciples had a treasury (John 12:6)
Supporters financed the ministry (Luke 8:2–3)
Judas was the treasurer

2. Where Should Believers’ Money Come From?
The Bible is very clear:
God is not interested in money from unrighteous sources.
Proverbs 13:11. “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished…”
Biblical sources of righteous money include:
Honest labor and skill
God-given business ideas
Diligent service
Lawful inheritance
Blessings from obedience
Deuteronomy 8:18. “It is He that giveth thee power to get wealth…”
Money that comes outside God’s order carries sorrow, even if it looks attractive.

3. “Money Answereth All Things” — Proper Understanding
Money can:
Solve problems
Prevent disgrace
Facilitate kingdom work
But money cannot:
Forgive sin
Replace obedience
Heal a cursed foundation
Buy eternal life
Psalm 49:7. “None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him.”
Money is a servant, not a master.

4. Types of Money (Biblical Insight)
The Bible reveals different kinds of money:
a. Righteous Money
Money earned in obedience and truth
Proverbs 10:22. “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.”
b. Blood Money
Money gained through oppression, ritualism, fraud, or destruction
Habakkuk 2:12
c. Unjust Gain
Jeremiah 17:11. “He that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days…”
Such money attracts judgment and loss.

5. Why God Does Not Desire Believers to Be Poor
Poverty:
Silences witness
Limits impact
Exposes believers to shame
Makes people question God’s faithfulness
Proverbs 22:7. “The borrower is servant to the lender.”
God desires His people to:
Lend and not borrow
Be a blessing
Support His work
Represent His glory
3 John 2. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper…”

CONCLUSION:
Money is not the enemy of the Church.
Ignorance, unrighteousness, and wrong foundations are.
God gives money:
To serve His purpose
To advance His kingdom
To establish dignity
To reflect His glory
But money outside God’s wisdom becomes a snare.

PRAYERS:
1. Father, deliver me from every wrong belief about money in the name of Jesus.
2. Let every money attracted by sorrow, loss, or judgment be purged from my life,in the name of Jesus
3. Lord, grant me wisdom to handle resources for Your glory,in the name of Jesus
4. Let my substance advance Your kingdom and not my destruction,in Jesus name
5. I receive power to get wealth by Your righteousness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Good morning and wishing you a happy new year in advance.

What Fasting Can and Cannot Do, Common Errors, and the True Reward of Fasting-Part.4(Final)

WORKING SCRIPTURES: Isaiah 58:6 – “Is not this the fast that I have chosen…?”
Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD.”
Matthew 6:18 – “And thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.”

INTRODUCTION:
Having established:
The foundation of fasting (Part 1),
The different kinds of fasting (Part 2),
And how to fast correctly with wisdom and order (Part 3),
it is necessary to conclude by answering a critical question many believers assume wrongly:
What exactly does fasting do—and what does it not do?
Many errors in the Church today come from attributing powers to fasting that Scripture never assigned to it, while neglecting what fasting truly accomplishes. 2 Timothy 2:15 – “Rightly dividing the word of truth.”

1. WHAT FASTING CAN DO (BIBLICALLY)
(a) Fasting Humbles the Soul. Psalm 35:13 – “I humbled my soul with fasting.”
Fasting brings the flesh under submission so the spirit can respond more clearly to God.
(b) Fasting Sharpens Spiritual Sensitivity Daniel 10:12 – “From the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand…”
Daniel’s fasting positioned him to understand, not to force God.
(c) Fasting Aligns the Believer with God’s Will Acts 13:2 – “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said…”
Fasting helps the believer hear clearly what God is already willing to say.
(d) Fasting Supports Repentance and Restoration. Joel 2:12–13
True fasting works with repentance, not without it.

2. WHAT FASTING CANNOT DO
(a) Fasting Cannot Manipulate God. Romans 9:16 – “So then it is not of him that willeth…”
God is sovereign. Fasting does not compel Him.
(b) Fasting Cannot Replace Obedience. 1 Samuel 15:22 – “To obey is better than sacrifice…”
A fasting believer walking in disobedience gains no spiritual advantage.
(c) Fasting Cannot Cover Sin or Injustice
God rejected fasting that ignored righteousness. Isaiah 58:3–4
Fasting without righteous living is noise.
(d) Fasting Cannot Substitute Faith in Christ
Deliverance, salvation, and victory come through Christ—not hunger. Galatians 2:16

3. COMMON ERRORS BELIEVERS MAKE IN FASTING
(1) Turning Fasting into Competition. 2 Corinthians 10:12 – “Comparing themselves among themselves…”
Longer fasting does not equal greater spirituality.

(2) Copying Extreme Fasts Without Divine Instruction
Moses’ and Jesus’ 40-day fasts were divinely sustained, not templates. Deuteronomy 29:29
What God reveals personally must not be copied generally.

(3) Ignoring the Body After the Fast
As earlier shared, believers have suffered serious harm due to wrong breaking of fasts. Scripture reminds us: 1 Corinthians 6:19 – “Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.”
Wisdom is spiritual.

(4) Fasting Without Prayer and the Word Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live by bread alone…”
Without the Word, fasting becomes mere abstinence.

4. THE TRUE REWARD OF FASTING
Jesus made this very clear. Matthew 6:18 – “And thy Father… shall reward thee openly.”
The true reward is not:
Fame
Endurance
Spiritual pride

The true reward is:
Deeper intimacy with God
Clearer spiritual direction
Inner transformation
Grace for obedience James 4:8 – “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”

CONCLUSION;
Fasting is a means, not an end. It is a servant of truth, not a master of power. When fasting is practiced with:
Knowledge
Wisdom
Purpose
Balance
it becomes a blessing, not a burden. Ecclesiastes 7:12 – “Wisdom is a defence…”
The believer who fasts rightly grows steadily, safely, and spiritually.

FINAL PRAYERS:
1. Prayer for Right Understanding
Father, help me to rightly understand and apply fasting according to Your Word.
(John 8:32)
2. Prayer Against Error and Extremes
Deliver me from spiritual excess, ignorance, and pride.
(Romans 12:3)
3. Prayer for True Spiritual Growth
Let my fasting draw me closer to You, not just deprive my body.
(James 4:8)
4. Prayer for Preservation and Balance
Preserve my spirit, soul, and body as I serve You.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Good morning, merry Xmas and happy boxing day.

INTRODUCTION:
In Parts 1 and 2, we learned that fasting is biblical and that there are different kinds of fasting, each requiring wisdom and understanding. However, a major question remains—one many believers quietly struggle with:
How do we fast correctly?
And must a believer join every fasting called by the church, even when the reason is unknown?
Scripture teaches that spiritual zeal without understanding can lead to error. Romans 10:2 – “They have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.”
This part addresses fasting as a disciplined, orderly, and purposeful spiritual exercise, not as blind endurance.

1. HOW TO FAST CORRECTLY (BIBLICAL PROCESS)
(a) Begin with a Clear Purpose
Biblical fasting always had a defined reason.
Direction Acts 13:2
Repentance. Joel 2:12
Deliverance. Esther 4:16
Random fasting without purpose often leads to frustration or physical harm. Habakkuk 2:2 – “Write the vision, and make it plain…”
(b) Prepare the Heart, Not Just the Body
God rebuked fasting that was outward but empty inside. Isaiah 58:3–5
Fasting without:
Repentance
Forgiveness
Obedience
becomes noise, not power. Psalm 51:17 – “A broken and a contrite heart…”
(c) Maintain Prayer and the Word
Fasting without prayer is hunger, not fasting. Daniel 9:3 – “I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting…”
Fasting sharpens spiritual hearing only when the Word and prayer are present.
(d) Know How to Break Your Fast Properly
Scripture emphasizes order and care. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 – “Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost…”
Breaking a fast recklessly dishonors the body God entrusted to us. Wisdom requires:
Gradual return to food
Light meals
Moderation
This is knowledge, not unbelief.

2. SHOULD A BELIEVER JOIN A FAST WITHOUT KNOWING THE REASON?
Biblical Balance (Not Rebellion)
The Bible teaches submission to spiritual leadership, but not blind destruction. Hebrews 13:17 – “Obey them that have the rule over you…”
At the same time: 1 Corinthians 14:8 – “If the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?”
A believer should know:
Why the fast is called
What kind of fast it is
How long it will last
Purpose gives faith direction.
When Participation Is Right
You should participate when:
The purpose is clear
The fast is scriptural
The fast aligns with your strength and health Romans 12:11 – “Fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”

When Adjustment Is Permitted
Scripture allows personal discretion. Daniel 1:8 – “Daniel purposed in his heart…”
Daniel did not rebel; he adjusted wisely.
A believer may:
Modify the kind of fast
Maintain the prayer focus
Remain submissive in spirit
God looks at obedience with understanding, not bodily destruction.

3. YOUR REVELATION AND BIBLICAL CONFIRMATION
My received revelation—fasting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, breaking by 2pm—reflects biblical wisdom and balance:
Set days (discipline) Psalm 119:164
Time-bound fasting Judges 20:26
Sustainable consistency Ecclesiastes 7:12
This pattern:
Encourages regular spiritual focus
Protects the body
Removes competition and pressure
It is a shepherd’s wisdom, not compromise.

CONCLUSION:
Fasting must never become:
A test of endurance
A spiritual competition
A cause of bodily harm
God is glorified when fasting is done:
With purpose
With knowledge
With order. Proverbs 4:7 – “Wisdom is the principal thing…”
Knowledge preserves life, even in spiritual discipline.

PRAYERS:
1. Prayer for Purposeful Fasting
Father, help me never to fast blindly, but with understanding and purpose.
(Proverbs 20:18)
2. Prayer for Order and Balance
Let my spiritual discipline bring life, not harm.
(1 Corinthians 14:40)
3. Prayer for Submission with Wisdom
Help me to walk in submission without ignorance.
(Acts 17:11)
4. Prayer for Strength and Preservation
Preserve my spirit, soul, and body as I serve You.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Good morning and Merry Christmas.
