YOUR GREATEST ADVANTAGE IS THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
For those who missed sunday's service, here is a brief recap of what we learnt from 1 Samuel 22:1–3; 1 Samuel 16:1.
Greatness attracts battles. David's life reminds us that when God calls a man into greatness, opposition is inevitable. Yet, despite the battles he faced, David was preserved because God was with him.
Challenges are not always a sign that God has abandoned you. Often, they are part of His process of preparing you for what He has promised. Rather than focusing on your circumstances or discouragements, fix your eyes on God's Word and what He is doing through every season.
We were reminded to cast all our cares upon the Lord because He cares for us. Fear, uncertainty, and anxiety about the future should never outweigh our confidence in God's faithfulness. Human help may fail, but God never fails.
As we step into new phases of life, whether as students, graduates, or believers, our greatest pursuit should be the presence of God. His presence gives rest, direction, strength, and distinction. It is His presence that sets a man apart.
To walk in God's presence, we must be genuinely converted, seek Him sincerely in prayer, live a sanctified life, believe by faith that He is with us, and walk daily in the consciousness of His presence.
Like David, let us remain steadfast until we see what God will do. Trust His Word, cast your burdens upon Him, pursue His presence above all else, and be confident that He who called you will preserve and fulfill His purpose for your life.
