SILENCE THE DISTRACTION

Luke 10:41-42 KJV
[41] And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: [42] But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

In our world today, there has never been as much distraction as there has been in any other time in history. In addition to the many distractions that existed in generations past, we now have the mother of all distractions - social media. Consider this; as beautiful and as a blessing that social media has the capacity to paralyze an individual and make that person useless in productivity. Not only does it have the potential to stop productivity, it also has the potential to deplete a persons resources if care isnt taken. That is why, if anyone is serious about making progress in life, you have to find a way to silence the distraction of social media.
Our text says Jesus admonished Martha to choose what is needful , just as Mary had chosen. For Martha, it was a case of a woman busy with house chores. But today, it is a case of people being busy really doing nothing. Yes, social media; though a huge distraction, the irony is that it also has the capacity to turn a persons life around positively. It just depends on the choice one makes. Through the internet and social media, people who hitherto had never heard about the gospel have found Christ. Through smart phones, people have become billionaires by what they do to add value to society. But the sad reality is that the majority of people; both young and old who use social media, use it majorly for entertainment and gossip, with the attendant consequences.
Beloved, you are the one to choose how to control the distractions that abound through social media. Mary chose the needful, what will you choose? In Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV God said, 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. Social media can be both a blessing and a curse, it depends on what you choose to make of it. As much as it has the capacity to make one, it also has the capacity to mar another. Social media poses significant dangers, including addiction, severe mental health issues (anxiety, depression), cyberbullying, and the likes. It acts as a major distraction, reducing productivity by interrupting daily tasks like working, driving, or sleeping, often driven by dopamine-fueled reward loops. But God says to us today to stop and think; make the right choice and you will be blessed for it. Download the Church application today, download bible versions, download books especially Christian books and get busy knowing God through your smart device and see what God will help you achieve. Silence the distraction!!!.

Daily Task

THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES

Galatians 6:7-8 KJV
[7] Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. [8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

The lack of understanding about how life works is what has short-changed many people in life. Many people are often careless about observation, which can lead to a lack of careful consideration of potential outcomes before undertaking a task or engaging in an activity. In other words, the power of observation helps to prevent or limit catastrophic consequences.
Our text says, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Being an observant person should prompt any serious believer to ask questions about any action that needs to be taken. One of those actions that we need to always consider is remembering through observation that actions have consequences. Many times, people engage in certain activities because there was no careful thought was given to the consequences. Just because an action has no immediate consequence doesnt mean it cannot be destructive. But the power of observation will help you to analyse how others who engaged in that activity ended up. For instance, careful observation of life will tell you that anyone who engages in premarital s*x hardly ever ends well except for the mercies of God.
Careful observation will tell you that a thief (in whatever form) always has his days counted wherein he will pay back in multiple measures what he had stolen.
Proverbs 6:30-31 KJV
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; 31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
Now, you may think that the Bible is saying that a man should steal if he is hungry, but careful observation will tell you that no matter how sympathetic people are towards someone who steals because he is hungry, the usual consequence is that those same people will even lynch a thief when they catch up with him.
Beloved, do not be moved by pressure and trials to sin. Always think of the consequences thereafter. Always have it at the back of your mind that whatever you sow, you will reap. Are you fraudulently ripping people off their earnings (yahoo yahoo as they call it), know that a day of reckoning will surely come - history has shown it. Are you sleeping around just to be able to afford the vanities of life, or even to make the so-called ends meet? Always remember that all who have gone that way always regret their actions. Dont let the devil deceive you that it will be different with you; the truth will always be that whatever you sow, that shall you reap. So always think about the consequences before you act.

Daily Task
List five consequences of sin and ask God to help you overcome sin by all means.

Prayers
1. Father, help me to sow righteousness at all times.
2. May the devils lies not make sense to me anymore.

THINK ON THESE: PRAISE WORTHY

Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Everybody likes to be praised when he/she does a good thing or achieves a milestone. No matter how humble a person is, he will appreciate a token of gratitude or commendation when he does something right. As much as this may not be wrong (especially when there is no element of pride involved), the truth is that whether you get praise or commendation for what you do, God wants you to think about things that are praiseworthy and practice them, because he looks at the heart and not the physical expression. Your actions should therefore not be based on whether you will be commended or not, but because you have a mindset of doing things that are praiseworthy.
Praiseworthy things involve qualities like truth, honor, justice, purity, and love, alongside actions such as serving others, showing integrity, finding beauty, and being grateful, all of which build character and positive relationships. To live a praiseworthy life, you cultivate these virtues by focusing your thoughts on noble things, practicing gratitude, serving with generosity, seeking integrity, and aligning your actions with Godly values, striving for excellence in your conduct and interactions. When you do these, you will always enjoy the results of an excellent life, irrespective of whether you are commended by men or not.
God always commends a life that is dedicated to pleasing Him.
Matthew 6:2-6, KJV
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. May God honor you for all the praiseworthy things you have done that no man commended you for. Seek to be seen by God and not men!.

Daily Task
List three ways you can live a praiseworthy life.

Prayers
1. Father, help my thoughts and actions to be praiseworthy.
2. I receive grace to be committed to you in all ways.
