THE FORM OF A
SERVANT

“Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Phil 2: 6-8

Everyone grows up to become a ‘master’. Experience, expertise and exposures tend to make a man a master. Exploits done for the Lord will automatically place a status on your life.

Years of service, years of ministry, years of revelation from God seek to make a ‘master’ out of you. ‘Masters’ are men who direct but for Jesus, this was not so. He took upon Himself the form of a servant! This again was His personal choice.

No one imposed it on Him. He took it upon Himself. This is the crux of the matter. If you desire to remain a master it is your right. Years of service have probably brought it on you; exposure, experience, expertise and exploits have made and carved out such a seat for you. But you can lay it aside to continually tie around yourself the towel of service . . .

Though no man would call on you to serve (actually, men will agree to serve you and will run around for you), you must also lay it aside, if you must bear God’s glory upon your life for a long time.

“. . coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient . . .”

Do not seek to be different from people. Do not assume any other posture! Do not seek another outlook. It is safer for you to be a mere man, no matter the treasure within your heart. It is safer to appear as clay – unattractive outside, despite the glorious investment of God within.

Men out of admiration of what God is doing in your life may lose their heads and become very excited about you. May the Lord help us.

Topic: Disown Yourself
(Deny Yourself)

Text:
📖Luke 9:23

Introduction

Disown yourself does NOT mean:
🔸Hating yourself
🔸It does not mean you have no value
🔸It does not mean neglecting your health or well-being

1. What Does It Mean to Disown Yourself?

To say “No” to self and “Yes” to God
To surrender your will, desires, and pride
📖 Galatians 2:20 – “I am crucified with Christ…”
👉 You are no longer controlled by your flesh, but by Christ.

2. Why Must We Disown Ourselves?
Self can lead us into sin 📖Jeremiah 17:9
You cannot follow Christ and self at the same time

📖 Matthew 6:24 – No one can serve two masters

👉 Either self leads you or God leads you

3. What Does Self Look Like?
🔸Pride (“I know better”)
🔸Anger and revenge
🔸Lust and wrong desires
🔸Disobedience
📖 Romans 8:8 – Those in the flesh cannot please God

4. How Do We Disown Ourselves?
🔸Daily application of the Cross - Living in the 🔸Consciousness of his death everyday
🔸Daily decision – it is not once, but every day
🔸Prayer and surrender – ask God for strength
🔸Obey God’s Word even when it is hard

📖 Luke 9:23 – “Take up your cross daily…”

👉 It is a daily lifestyle, not a one-time event

5. The Reward of Self-Denial
✍️You become more like Christ
✍️You gain true life and peace
✍️You receive eternal reward

📖 Luke 9:24 – “Whoever loses his life for my sake shall save it”

Illustration (Short Story):

A boy was given control of a car, but he kept crashing it because he refused to listen. One day, he handed over the steering wheel to an expert driver—and the journey became smooth.

👉 Lesson: When you stop controlling your life and let God lead, life becomes better.

✔️Conclusion:

Disowning yourself is not losing your life—it is finding the right life in Christ.

Call to Action:

Ask yourself:
Am I following God or myself?
What do I need to surrender today?

🙏 Prayer Point:
“Lord, help me to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow You.”

FOLLOW 👉 JESUS!

Stop Listening To Your Accusing Voices. Romans 8:1-3.
If you truly want to become a better you, it is imperative that you learn to feel good about yourself. Too many people live under condemnation, constantly listening to the wrong voices. The bible refers to the enemy as " the accuser of the brethren" who would love for us to live our lives guilty and condemned. He constantly brings accusations against us. telling what we didn't do or we should have done. He will remind us of our past mistakes and failures. No human being is perfect we all have sinned, failed, and made mistakes. Many people don't know they can receive God's mercy and forgiveness, instead they allow themselves to be beating up on the inside, they tune in to that voice telling them, you can't do anything right, you will never break this habit, you are just a failure. Remember Jesus resurrected that you will overcome. SHALOM.

WHAT IS GOOD FRIDAY
Good Friday is a significant day in the Christian faith, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. It is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. The day is considered "good" because, despite the suffering and tragedy, it represents the ultimate sacrifice that atones for humanity's sins, paving the way for salvation and eternal life.

Biblical References:
Matthew 27:27-56
Describes the trial, mockery, crucifixion, and death of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:4-6
A prophecy that foreshadows Jesus' suffering and sacrifice: "Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering...he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
John 1:29

John the Baptist declares, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"

Hebrews 9:28
"so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."

Triumph Over Death
Overcoming Evil While Good Friday is a day of mourning, it's also a testament to Jesus' ultimate victory over sin and death. His suffering and death are not the end, but the prelude to his resurrection.

The Path to Salvation
Romans 10:9
"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

In summary, Good Friday is a time for Christians to. Reflect on Jesus' suffering and death

Acknowledge the immense sacrifice made for our sins.

Recognize the victory over death

Renew their faith in Jesus Christ.

Look forward to the hope of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday

The day is often marked by prayer, fasting, solemn worship services, and the reading of Scripture. It is a day of profound significance, reminding believers of the love and grace of God.

The Act of Feet Washing- A Biblical Meaning & Why It Matters

As we prepare for Maundy Thursday, here’s what you should know about one of the most powerful and humbling acts in the Christian faith.

1. It Is Rooted in the Example of Christ

The act of feet washing comes directly from Jesus Christ in John 13:1–17. At a moment when He should have been honored, He chose instead to serve. He knelt before His disciples and washed their feet, something usually done by the lowest servant.

Biblically, this is not just an act of kindness, it is a revelation of God’s character. Christ shows that true greatness in the Kingdom is expressed through humble service.

2. It Redefines Leadership in the Church

Jesus’ words were clear: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”

This act overturns worldly leadership. In the Church, leadership is not about titles or control, it is about serving others sacrificially.

Feet washing becomes a visible reminder that:
• no one is above serving
• authority in the Church must reflect humility
• ministry is service, not status

3. It Symbolizes Cleansing and Ongoing Renewal

When Peter resisted, Jesus responded, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” This shows a deeper meaning beyond physical washing.

Feet washing points to:
• spiritual cleansing
• daily renewal from sin and defilement
• the believer’s need to continually come to Christ

It reflects the truth that while we are saved, we still need ongoing grace and cleansing in our daily walk.

4. It Strengthens Love and Unity in the Church

Feet washing is deeply relational. It breaks pride and builds genuine community.

In kneeling before one another, believers:
• learn humility
• restore broken relationships
• express practical love

In a world of division and ego, this act becomes a counter-cultural expression of unity within the Body of Christ.

5. It Prepares the Heart for the Cross
