FEED MY SHEEP
THE WORD
JOHN 21:17
He said to him the third time, âSimon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?â Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, âDo you love Me?â And he said to Him, âLord, You know all things; You know that I love You.â Jesus said to him, âFeed My sheep.
Love for God is not proved only by songs we sing, prayers we pray, or words we speak. True love for Christ is revealed in how we care for His people. When Jesus spoke to Peter after His resurrection, He did not simply ask for emotional affection â He gave him a responsibility: âFeed My sheep.â
To feed Godâs sheep means to encourage the weak, teach the truth, pray for others, support those in need, and help people grow spiritually. God desires believers who will not only receive His love but also become channels of His love to others.
Many people around us are spiritually hungry, discouraged, confused, and wounded. Some need guidance, some need compassion, and others simply need someone who genuinely cares. Every act of kindness, encouragement, counsel, and service done in love becomes spiritual nourishment to Godâs flock.
Loving Jesus also means caring about what matters to Him â and people matter deeply to Him. We cannot claim to love Christ while ignoring the needs of others around us.
Today, ask yourself:
- Am I helping others grow closer to God?
- Am I encouraging or discouraging those around me?
- How can I reflect Christâs love through service?
God is still looking for faithful servants who will feed His sheep with love, truth, and compassion.
LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, help me to genuinely love You, not only in words but also through my actions. Give me a heart that cares for others and the grace to encourage, support, and strengthen Your people. Make me a vessel of Your love and truth, in Jesusâ name. Amen.
