*SUNDAY, 5TH JULY, 2026*

*THEME: BEHIND THE VEIL: WINNING THE INVISIBLE WAR*

*SCRIPTURE TEXT: DANIEL 10:11–15 [NKJV]*
11 _And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling._
12 _Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words._
13 _But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia._

*THE WORLD BEYOND WHAT WE SEE*

The Sadducees were the elite class of Jesus’ day, wealthy, political, and religious. Yet they denied angels, demons, resurrection, and life after death. They trusted only what they could see.

That ancient unbelief is still modern. Many intellectuals, scientists, and leaders today dismiss the supernatural as myth. But Daniel 10 rips the veil. It shows that behind every government, crisis, delay, and breakthrough are invisible personalities, both faithful and fallen.

LET'S BRIEFLY THINK ABOUT THE CHURCH TITLE "REVEREND".

The question is:- *Is the Title Reverend a God Politics or a Church politics?*

*Text: Psalm 111:9*

*Note*

*1. What does God say?*
The Bible never commands the title “Reverend.”
Jesus said in Matt 23:8-9: _“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’… for you have one Teacher… and you are all brothers.”_
God calls us: servant, brother, overseer, shepherd. Titles that show duty, not rank.

*2. Where did “Reverend” come from?*
It’s from Latin _reverendus_ = “worthy of honor.” Churches started using it 400+ years ago for order and respect.
Like uniforms in the army or names on doors in an office — it’s administration, not salvation.
Useful for order. Not required by God.

*3. So which is it?*
*“Reverend” = Church politics, not God politics.*
God politics = humility, service, obedience to His Word. Luke 22:26 _“Let the greatest among you be as the servant.”_

Church politics = titles, positions, order, tradition. Helpful, but not holy.

*Power Point:*
Don’t fight titles. Don’t chase them either.
God doesn’t promote by title. He promotes by faithfulness. 1 Sam 2:30 _“Those who honor me I will honor.”_

Let’s be known for fruit, not titles. John 15:8 _“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.”_

*Psalm 111:9 KJV*
_“He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.”_

*1. Who is “Reverend” here?*
Only God. The KJV uses “reverend” once in the whole Bible, and it’s for His name, not man.
_Holy and reverend is HIS name._ Meaning: worthy of awe, fear, respect. Only God deserves that level.

*2. God politics vs Church politics*
God politics: Psalm 111:9 says His name is reverend. That’s from heaven.

Church politics: We borrowed the word “Reverend” and gave it to pastors. Remember, that belongs to God.
