THE ENEMY'S STRATEGY
Friday 28 November, 2025
Read - Isaiah 36:1-10

Pre-battle speech goes with a lot of strong statements to make one's opponent to lose confidence in whatsoever they are relying on. Read vs. 1-2 again and take note of how far the Assyrians had occupied the territory of Judah. The people were already apprehensive.

Examine the speech of the Assyrian field commander meant for King Hezekiah from vs.4 10, what do you think was its real intention? It was all intended to create more fear in the people of Judah and make them to lose their confidence in God to deliver them.

The devil uses similar strategy of instilling fear in people to lose their confidence in God and to start following ungodly ways to succeed. Irrespective of what the enemy is thundering, lose not your confidence in God (Heb. 10:35)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to hold on to my faith in You, irrespective of the furious voice of the enemy

ODIOUS SACRIFICE
Friday 28 November, 2025
Read - Jeremiah 7:16-8:3

The prophet is a go-between God and His people as he delivers God's warning against their sinful ways. Israel refused to yield to the numerous warnings. Instead, they have gone from bad to worse, surpassing even the pagan world in their idolatry. Consider the depth to which they have fallen (vs.18, 30-31 cf. 2 Kings 21:7). No wonder, God warns the prophet not to plead for His mercy (vs.16-17; cf. Exodus 32:10; Jeremiah 15:1).

We should not continue in sin and expect God's grace grace to abound (Romans 6:1). We must not be deceived to believe that the prayers of a prophet or our big offerings would change God's mind or make Him overlook Our wickedness (vs.21-23). Notice the warnings contained in vs.32-34 and 8:1-3?

Note in Proverbs 29:1 the lesson(s) for those who persist in disobedience, who refuse correction and continue to take pride in their sin. Like the Israelites (vs.25&26), the Lord has sent us many messengers with His word. He speaks to us as we meditate on His word each day. Shall we be like them who did not obey the Lord?

Prayer
Grant me grace, dear Lord, to promptly obey Your word and so enjoy Your approval and blessings.

Prayer Focus:
Pray against various forms of forms of sentiments and dirty politics in decision making during meetings (POSEC, AFCS, and Secondary schools branches) which can cripple godliness and revivals at all levels of the work. Ask for leadership will power

HOPE OF RESTORATION
Thursday 27 November, 2025
Read - Isaiah 35:1-10

Sin is a destructive habit. Yet, God promise is sure (vs.1-2). The Lord God will restore the land to blossom once again and this will bring great joy and rejoicing among the populace. The restoration of our lives and nations lies in us rejecting sin and accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ over our lives/land. The people of the city of Samaria experienced great joy when they received the gospel in Acts 8:8.

Indeed Christ in us, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). See the effects of the news of God's restoration on the people in vs.3-6. The good news of God's restoration strengthens the minds, hearts, hands and knees of the weak in the land. Let's make it our priority to receive and proclaim God's message of restoration (the gospel), wherever we are.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, make me a partaker and instrument of sharing Your good news

GOD'S HOUSE OR DEN OF ROBBERS?
Thursday 27 November, 2025
Read - Jeremiah 7:1-15

God sent the prophet to proclaim (probably, cry out) His warning message, the true message, at the gate of the temple. What does this say about the messages the leaders are proclaiming in "the
temple of the Lord", on the altar or the pulpit? Israel have forsaken the God of the temple and turned to honour of the temple building (v.4). What messages do the masses who rush into our churches on Sundays and weekdays hear from our Dulpit (yor vs 8-9)

ls it what to do to please God (vs.5-6) or how to prosper materially so bigger tithes and offerings are put in the offering bag? Are our churches truly God's house where the bitter truth: condemnation of sin and call for true repentance, is proclaimed, or a den of robbers where the wages of prosperity by any means are exhibited and extolled (vs.9-1 0)? No wonder, our bible-carrying, tongue- speaking brethren engage in the same evil as the unbelievers in our commercial houses, political arena, law courts, security offices etc. Notice the consequence of such ungodly lifestyle in vs.12-15 (cf. Romans 6:23).

Warning:
If God did not spare Shiloh and Jerusalem, how Can you escape if you fail to heed His voice?
21:12-13).

Further Studies: Ezekiel 8; Matthew

Prayer
Help me, dear Lord, to worship You in spirit and in truth.

Prayer Focus:
Remember missionaries in prisons and cells due to persecutions. Pray for those awaiting prosecutions for God's favour. Some are under different forms of threats, hunger, lack of accommodation, etc. due refusal to compromise.

THE LORD'S VENGEANCE
Wednesday 26 November, 2025
Read - Isaiah 34:8-17

The description of the great tribulation and and the people to experience it is seen here (v. 8). This desolate and dreadful state is represented as being like that of S***m (vs. 9-10) and should be no more inhabited by men, nor governed by princes, but be the dwelling of wild beasts and unclean birds (vs. 11-15) all which is confirmed by the word and Spirit of God (vs. 16-17).

How should we respond to these warnings? This is beyond all doubt and it does not require fear. Rather, it requires being ready, and praying always that we may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will Come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21:36).

Thought: Be ready always

Prayer
Dear Lord, please help me to always be ready at all times to stand before you blameless in Jesus' name, amen.

PRAY FOR US
Wednesday 26 November, 2025
Read - Hebrews 13:18-25

Prayer is an indispensable factor in the life of a Christian. However, intercession is a difficult ministry. With the right information and clear leading of the Holy Spirit, believers can intercede correctly. Peter was set free from prison through corporate intercessory prayer (Acts 12:1-12). The Christian life is full of challenges, and we need to request for prayers from fellow believers. Why did the writer of this scripture request prayers in vs.18-19?

Observe that the writer was an example of his request (vs.20-21). Read vs.20-21 again. What truth can you see? Christ's sacrifice on the cross equips the believers with the virtues to succeed in the race and relationships on earth. We should emulate the author's example of giving relevant prayer and praise information on specific issues to his readers. God's grace is always sufficient in all things and at all times. His grace will keep us going while in difficulties (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). Grace began the Christian life and grace alone will help the saints to finish well.

So what? How often do you intercede for others? A prayer diary containing a list of people you should pray for will help you intercede for others. If you do not have already, get one today.

Prayer
Oh Lord, give me grace to faithfully intercede for others in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Focus
Pray for good governance in the fear of God in Nigeria that will result in the reduction of cost of living, hardship, drop out of school, unemployment, social restiveness immorality, addictions, armed suicides, kidnapping, etc. drug robbery,

THE LORD IS MY HELPER
Tuesday 25 November, 2025
Read - Hebrews 13:1-17

What are Some instructions in Vs.1-3, 4-5, 9-10, 15-16? As we seek to fulfil this great task, we also must be conscious of the grace of God as contained in His promises in vs.5b-6. We are to pay particular attention to the warning against covetousness and note the antidote (vs. 5-6; cf. Luke 12:15; 1 Timothy 6:8-10). Some of the instructions can be executed when we understand and know the God of love. We can be rewarded as we express His love to fellow believers and strangers (v.2). However, be sensitive in expressing love in a difficult world as you host strangers.

Do you obey for leaders (v.7; 1 Timothy 2:1 4)? What is v.8 teaching us about God? Do you obey Constituted authorities? Particularly in the Christian community, the leader is expected to be an example to the members. However, the members are also responsible to God to know what the Lord expects of them so that when a leader fails to live by the standard of God's word, they would not be led astray. See Roman 13:1-7; Titus 3:1; 1 Peter 2:13-17.

Thought: This world is not our permanent home. We are looking forward to a home yet to come (v.14, NLT).

Prayer
Help me, Lord, to follow good examples and reject things that are false and ungodly.

Prayer Focus:
Pray for sustenance of good working relationship between chapels and FCS branches in Our campuses. That God will restore churches and chapels as places of prayer, fasting, mission support as was the case in Acts 13:1-3.

THE LORD IS ANGRY WITH ALL NATIONS
Tuesday 25 November, 2025
Read - Isaiah 34:1-7

It is not the desire of God for any to experience His wrath, hence the solemn call (vs. 1-4). Because of sin, God will destroy the nations. All the enemies of the Lord will one day be gathered together in battle and slain by God Himself (See Rev. 19:11-21; 20:7-10). Sin affects not only man but also the earth, hence the need to stay away from it.

This warning regarding the anger of the Lord is directed not to God's people, but to the nations and people that reject God. This is because God's people will escape the terrors of the great tribulation, though they may experience great hardship in the time leading up to it. Resolve daily to stay connected to God and avoid His wrath.

Prayer
Lord, help me, to escape Your wrath, and accept Your full offer of salvation in Jesus' name, amen.
