_*SPIRITUAL FOCUS: THE WORD OF GOD GIVES SUCCESS.*_
In times of adversity, such as the difficult era experienced by the Jews when prophets were scarce, the message brought by John the Baptist resonated deeply with them. However, in today's study, we see Jesus Christ, the Son of God, embarking on a period of preparation in the desert. Here, the enemy, the Devil, seeks to tempt Him with trials of power, sustenance, and pride—strategies commonly used to lead people away from God even today. Yet, Jesus demonstrates a profound victory over these temptations by relying on the Word of God. Each response He gives to Satan is rooted in scripture. This serves as a model for us, illustrating the power of God's Word in overcoming the schemes of the enemy. Recognizing the inevitability of facing similar trials, God commands us to study His Word daily. Through obedience to this command, we can emerge victorious against the Adversary, receiving abundant blessings (Joshua 1: 9). Indeed, the Word of God is likened to a sharp, active sword (Hebrews 4: 12), and just as Jesus triumphed through its power, we too should not underestimate its significance. Let us diligently engage in the study of God's Word, for it is through this practice that we arm ourselves against the wiles of the enemy and secure victory in our spiritual battles.
*FOOD FOR THOUGHT:* The word of God is a sword.
*PRAYER:* O Lord God, help me to increase my knowledge of your words in the name of Christ Jesus, Amen.
