Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? (James 4:1).

HOW PEACE WILL COME

A certain man had two sons. One was rich and the other was poor. The rich son had no children, while the poor son was blessed with many sons and daughters. In time, the father fell ill. He was sure he would not live through the week, so on Saturday he called his sons to his side and gave each of them half of his land as their inheritance. Then he died. Before sundown, the sons buried the father with respect.

That night, the rich son could not sleep. He said to himself, "What my father did was not just. I am rich; my brother is poor. I have plenty of bread, while my brother's children eat one day and trust God for the next. I must move the landmark that our father has set in the middle of the land so that my brother will have the greater share. Ah, but he must not see me; if he sees me, he will be shamed. I must arise early in the morning before it is dawn and move the landmark." With this, he fell asleep, and his sleep was secure and peaceful.

Meanwhile, the poor brother could not sleep. As he lay restless on his bed, he said to himself, "What my father did was not just. Here I am surrounded by the joy of many sons and many daughters, while my brother daily faces the shame of having no sons to carry on his name and no daughters to comfort him in his old age. He should have the land of our fathers. Perhaps this will in part compensate him for his indescribable poverty. Ah, but if I give it to him he will be shamed; I must awake early in the morning before it is dawn and move the landmark that our father has set." With this, he went to sleep, and his sleep was secure and peaceful.
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, a long time before it was day, the two brothers met at the ancient landmark. They fell with tears into each other's arms, and on that spot was built the New Jerusalem.

There are four basic propositions in the book of Ecclesiastes:
(1) Labor, riches, success, and prosperity do not bring happiness.
(2) Earthly possessions, instead of bringing happiness, become an obstacle to attaining it.
(3) Although man knows what is best for himself, he seldom does it.
(4) The only sure way to happiness is to fear God and keep his commandments. This is the basic message of the Bible as a whole.

Three prominent lessons are learned in the book of Job: (1) Human suffering is not necessarily an evidence of God's displeasure with the suffering one; (2) God is with His people at all times, even though they cannot feel Him; (3) While suffering may be permitted by God, it is brought on by Satan. Satan would confuse these three principles. He would like us to think that God forgets His people and is the creator of sorrow. The true believer looks beyond the sorrow of the moment to the sunrise of God's love. He, like Job, can say: My Redeemer lives! Remember, after the cross, the resurrection always comes.

God sees our lives differently than we do. We are limited by time and space, but God can look beyond the next hill to a grander view. Rather than becoming discouraged with ourselves, we should leave the judgment of our lives to God. We should remember that real success does not depend on results; rather, it depends on whether we are obeying God's unique plan for our lives. When we leave the results with God, we do not need to feel discouraged in times of stress and apparent lack of results.

Of the many lessons to learn from the beautiful book of Ruth, perhaps the most comforting is how God can take all the crises of our lives and make something beautiful from them. Rather than drifting into despair when her husband died, Ruth turned to God. Her pain of separation was eased, and God blessed her with a new family and a strong faith. Trouble can either make us better or bitter. If we learn to look at our trials as opportunities for God to draw us near to Himself, then they will open many new doors to spiritual adventure. Christ is still Master of the tempest and Lord of all our lives.

There comes a time in our Christian experience when our feelings fade. Satan tries to make us doubt our conversion, and during this time, we need something firm on which to hold. God's Word is an anchor that will not pull loose. In His wilderness experience, Jesus countered the attacks of Satan by quoting the Bible.
We should follow His example when we are being pushed around by the enemy of our souls.

JUST RUN,DON'T COMPETE!
A man was jogging one morning and He noticed a person about 1/2 a kilometre ahead. He could tell he was running a little slower than him and He thought;good, he shall try to catch him. He had about a kilometre before he needed to turn off. So He started running faster and faster. Every block, He was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes He was only about 100 metres behind him, so He really picked up the pace and pushed himself. You would have thought he was running in the last leg of an Olympic competition. He was determined to catch up wit d oda man. Finally, he did it! He caught up and passed him. On the inside He felt so good. "He beat him" Of course, d oda man didn't even know dey were racing. After He passed him, He realised He had been so focused on competing against d oda man that He had missed his. turn. He had gone nearly six blocks past his turn and He had to turn and go back.
Isn't that what happens in life when we focus on competing with co-workers, neighbours, friends, family, trying to outdo them or trying to prove that we are more successful or more important? We spend our time and energy running after them and we miss out on our own paths to our God given destinies. The problem with unhealthy competition is that it's a never ending cycle. There will always be somebody ahead of you, someone with a better job, nicer car, more money in the bank, more education, a prettier wife, a more handsome husband, better behaved children, etc. But realize that "You can be the best that you can be, you are not competing with no one." Some people are insecured because they pay too much attention to what others are , where others are going, wearing and driving. Take what God has given you; the height, weight and personality. Dress well and wear it proudly, you'll be blessed by it. Stay focused and live a healthy life.
There is no competition in Destiny.

Run your own race and wish others well!!!

Happy New Month Everyone...

A LOGICAL ORDER

Genesis was not the first Bible book to be written. Most scholars agree that the book of Job takes that honor in the Old Testament, and 1 Thessalonians had this distinction among the books of the New Testament. The obvious question is, "Why aren't the books arranged in chronological order in our Bible?" The answer is that our English Bible is arranged for readability. It follows this order: Law, History, Poetry, and Prophecy. The New Testament is similarly divided: Gospels, Acts, Epistles, and Apocalypse.

The Jewish Canon has only twenty-two books compared with thirty-nine in our Old Testament. The same material is in both, but the Hebrew Scripture is divided to accord with the twenty-two letters of their alphabet. In their Canon, the Minor Prophets are counted as one book, Ruth is coupled with Judges, Ezra with Nehemiah, Lamentations with Jeremiah, and the two books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles are considered as one each. They have three major divisions: The Law, The Prophets, and The Writings.

By the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, the Old Testament was pretty well completed as we have it today. Josephus says "that since the death of Artaxerxes (424 B.C.) no one had dared to add anything to them, to take anything from them, or to make any change in them." When we read the Bible from its beginning, we see how God has worked in every generation to bring man back to Himself. The theme of all of God's Word is the gift of His Son. Paul says man's highest purpose is to be conformed to that image (Romans 8:29).
