Worship leaders: stop pressuring yourself to make sure everyone has the same encounter you have. It will never happen. None of us will have the same encounter. We all have different experiences, different expressions, so you shouldn’t expect everyone to worship the same way you do.

So that sense of failure you feel when EVERY hand isn’t lifted, and everyone isn’t completely engaged…. Yeah let that go.

It was never your assignment to make sure EVERYONE praised God. Your job is to create a space for those who desire to worship to do so, and then disappear. Meaning don’t make it a concert, but stop singing and LET THEM worship. And prayerfully those who didn’t come to worship will feel God’s presence and be moved to do so as well.

But yelling and screaming until EVERYBODY worships… yeah that will never work. You just create the space. Let the pastor teach those who don’t worship why they should. That’s not your assignment…
