Sunday Service Summary – 7th June, 2026
Church: ECWA 1 Takau
Topic: Steadfast Faith While Our Lamps Are Still Burning
Text: Job 2:1–10
Speaker: Pst. Linus Dauda

The message was a continuation of last week’s sermon, focusing on the unwavering faith of Job despite intense trials. After experiencing devastating losses, Job remained steadfast and did not deny God. The sermon reminds us that regardless of our circumstances or present condition, we must always recognize that God remains in absolute control. Our challenges are not beyond His knowledge, and His sovereignty is never compromised.
The speaker further explained that God permitted the devil to afflict Job’s health, but not his life. Job was struck with severe sickness, yet he did not turn against God. Even when his wife urged him to curse God and die, Job responded with remarkable faith, saying, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all these painful experiences, Job did not sin with his lips, demonstrating spiritual maturity and deep trust in God.
In conclusion, the sermon emphasized that in our Christian journey, the devil knows us personally and will test our faith. However, we are encouraged to remain steadfast, just like Job, holding firmly to our faith while our “lamps are still burning.” No matter the trials we face, we must stand firm, trust God completely, and refuse to compromise our faith, knowing that our endurance will ultimately bring glory to God.
Have a blessed week ahead.

*Topic: Giving that Touches the Heart*

*Speaker: Rev. Solomon Bidoli*

Today’s message reminded us that true giving is not measured by how much we give, but by the depth of our sacrifice and sincerity of heart. Drawing from Mark 12:41–44, Rev. Solomon Bidoli emphasized that God values the intention behind every gift more than its size. The story of the widow who gave her last coins teaches us that genuine giving comes from a place of love, faith and total dependence on God.
To bring this message home, the speaker used a practical illustration involving young children, a few elders and an aged woman representing the widow. While the elders gave out of their abundance, the aged woman gave all she had, demonstrating a heart fully surrendered. This powerful example helped us see clearly that impactful giving is not about convenience, but about commitment and trust in God.
We were challenged to reflect on our own giving whether we give out of surplus or from a heart that truly seeks to touch lives. Giving that moves God is sacrificial, intentional and rooted in compassion. It goes beyond material things and reflects a heart that is willing to serve, uplift and make a difference, no matter how small it may seem.
As we go through this week, may we cultivate the spirit of the widow giving with humility, faith and love. Let our giving not only meet needs but also touch hearts and glorify God. True generosity is a lifestyle and when practiced sincerely, it leaves a lasting impact on both the giver and the receiver.you can still follow us for next week God bless you all.Thank you
