TOPIC: WHAT YOU NEED vs WHAT YOU WANT? (Part 10A)

SUBTOPIC: DEVIL'S ATTACK ON VISIONS/REVELATIONS ON MARRIAGE

TEXTS: Psalm 32:8 & John 16:13
"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye" (Psalm 32:8)

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come" (John 16:13)

MESSAGE
One of the primary ways the devil tries to get at God is to make the things of God foolish to His children. And unfortunately, one of the places the devil is gaining ground is the place of commonizing revelations or making other means of divine direction stupid to many believers of this generation through diverse means. I wonder why a believer will ever think divine direction is not needed in all aspects of his or her life.

Some believe divine direction is only needed for churchy or spiritual matters. Listen! Marriage is not just physical, MARRIAGE IS SPIRITUAL! Plus, why will God be interested in your spiritual life, health, finance (because when we talk of blessing, money is the first thing in many people's mind) etc and that same God would not be interested in who you should marry?

No wise parent will raise a child to adulthood and say well you can just go and bring anybody to marry, I'm not concerned, No! because the reality is that the person you marry will determine whether their labour over you will yield fruit at all or not. Marriage will affect every aspect of your life whether good or bad. It will determine the quality of your life, philosophy, perspective, productivity and lifestyle.
So why will God not be interested in something that will determine whether your life will be profitable unto Him or not?

Every farmer sows with an expectation to reap later. If you're a good single Christian, if you marry someone who can't complement God's purpose for your life, you'll struggle to serve and please God. A wrong or bad marriage is a klug in the wheel of a great destiny.

The DEVIL becomes your father-in-law with free access into your home, life and other things that pertains to you. If he can't get you directly, he comes through the people or things that touches you and you'll react. There will be days YOU'LL MISBEHAVE regardless of your spirituality. BAD MARRIAGE IS LONG SUFFERING. Unfortunately, many believers are living such tormenting life daily. If God were to give a second chance, many will gladly want to jump out of their marriages.

To avoid this, God provided a means of communication and guidance for His children but many of them don't take advantage of it. With the following factors likely in place: ignorance, emotions/lust, arrogance (they know the scripture more than God, highly opinionated, but no impact in their lives and relationship with God), stubbornness etc.

Some isolate and misinterpret Proverbs 18:22 "HE WHO FINDS A WIFE...": They said God asked the man to find since Adam blamed God because Eve was the source of his fall. Hence, God stopped influencing man's choice for marriage. What a devilish misunderstanding! Why will God plan your life (Jeremiah 1:5/29:11) and overlook marriage?

He who finds there doesn't mean you're to search on your own Sir! Biblical stand is that you should find through lens of the SCRIPTURE and the HOLY SPIRIT as your GUIDE. If you find with your physical eyes and head, you'll maintain her with your head forever, because God only sponsors the project He ordained.

If this were not, God would not have sent the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth, including marriage (John 16:13). Jesus could have said He will guide you into other truths except marriage but He didn't. Hey! Stop using your brain to interpret the scripture, your brain or experience is not the Holy Spirit!

The scripture is God's power and letter to His humble children to profit. It is not to be debated neither is it a book to develop personal opinions. It is to be obeyed to the letter! Check through your bible, God gave patterns of leading His children on who to marry and other choices they are to make and God is still leading His obedient children on who to marry. There is a provision of divine direction in the scripture and the Holy Spirit, will you take it or follow the path that seemeth right to you?

May your eyes of understanding be opened in Jesus name!

TOPIC: WHAT YOU NEED vs WHAT YOU WANT? (Part 2A)

SUBTOPIC: WHO/WHAT DO YOU NEED?

MESSAGE
A NEED is termed to be a necessity for the well-being or a success of a thing. In essence, your need in life is what will generate your success and well-being as a creature created by God. If God created us and has the final say over all He created and whatever happens here on earth and in heaven, that means our need individually or collectively is embedded in His own desire not ours.

This justifies Revelations 4:11, that says we are created for his PLEASURES, not our pleasures! He created us not we! If you didn't create yourself, why trying to think, WORRY or DECIDE for God over your life or another person's life?
The day you believe that you are on earth for God and not yourself, is the day you solve your major problems and save yourself headaches.

God once said to me, your SUCCESS is in my plan for you, not in your plan or another man's plan/strategy for you. A reason I enjoy every level God has placed me on my way to the greater height He has for me. This is why I don't COMPETE or get JEALOUS of any man or angry at them, because it's a diversional therapy from hell and a shortcut to have your golden destiny stolen by the devil.

This is why I CELEBRATE everyone succeeding around me, because I know mine is on the way and you can't stop my success, neither can I stop yours. God has gotten everybody COVERED, it is only left for us to align with His will which is our need.

The world is so much filled with perplexity for success, insecurity for limited resources, unhealthy rivalry, jealousy, envy, strive, confusions, competitions, imitations, permutations that has kept many at the mercies of LUCK or chances. Why live by CHANCE or TRIAL when you can live a life of Peace, Rest, Favour, Steadiness, Speed and Accuracy which only God offers (John 16:13-15)?

Why running after THINGS; materials, possessions, status, ambition first, when your calling and destiny, which you should seek first is lying fallow?

Friend, YOU NEED NOTHING ELSE IN LIFE BUT GOD, our all-time helper, who has all in His possession (Haggai 2:9). All you're running after is what God has for you in destiny and will make to pursue you and even overtake you when you submit genuinely to Him (Deuteronomy 28:1-13, Matthew 6:33, Isaiah 1:19, Job 36:11).

I once prayed for prosperity, God said to me, you don't need financial prosperity, YOU NEED ME. ONCE YOU HAVE ME, YOU HAVE ALL, as long as you're OBEDIENT. This answers the question of every man. The only One you need is God, through your intimate relationship with Him, everything about your life will fall in place.

INTIMACY with God makes you walk by INSTRUCTIONS not by PERMUTATIONS or public opinion or the dictates of the situation around. It is instructions that makes a high flyer. Instruction is the antidote to DESTRUCTION. It is the key for exemption from evil flows. OBEDIENCE to instruction is the key to being unique in the midst of multitude doing the same thing as you.

To become intimate and receive instructions;

1. BE BORN AGAIN: let a true disciple of Jesus lead you to Christ for salvation, sanctification and proper nurturing into full stature in God.

2. BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT: Christianity is woven around the Holy Spirit, if you lack Him, you'll find it very hard to do anything meaningful in the kingdom. Receive Him! (John 1:12, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:26)

3. RELATE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT: don't just receive the Holy Spirit. Let Him be active in you. Let this be consistent in your praise, worship, prayers, studying of the word and meditation. From there instructions will come (Matthew 4:1, Luke 4:1, Romans 8:14).

4. BE SENSITIVE AND OBEDIENT: receiving instructions without obedience is a waste. If you have not obeyed the last instruction God gave you, forget the next instruction, because He will not give you. God is a God of process (Isaiah 1:19-20).

TOPIC: WHAT YOU NEED vs WHAT YOU WANT? (Part 1)

MESSAGE
Many of us are caught up in between the web of God's WILL (need) and our personal DESIRE (want). There is no age group left out of this dilemma, but I'll like to focus on the youthful age, as this is the age of making many critical decisions, that will affect the rest of the life of the youth. Those out of the youthful age are largely left now with the appraisal of how well they used their youthful energy.

Consequently, many of we youths have found ourselves at a point of confusion, asking several questions, even after knowing the truth in God's will. We begin to ask:

a.) Should I quit, let go or maintain the status quo?

b.) Should I defiantly continue on the wrong path, because of the sacrifices and commitment I or we have made?

c.) What will happen to me or the other party/parties if I let go?

d.) Can I still find something/someone better than what/who I don't want to lose?

e.) Will I not be stranded, if I let go?

f.) Will I not face bitter consequences by disobeying God, because of my desire?

g.) What will people say or think?

h.) Can this decision grant me security or not?

i.) Will I not fall back into the pit of my past mistake(s) again, if I go ahead?

Among many other questions, that makes many youths, end up in total disobedience, partial obedience or delayed obedience.

According to Rev. Olúṣọlá Àrẹògún, at a point in life, a youth going somewhere should be able to answer these questions gradually as time goes on;

1. What is my purpose on earth?
2. Who should I marry?
3. Where should I reside?
4. What job am I to do?
5. Which church am I supposed to attend?

If these 5 questions are properly answered you're good to go in destiny. In other words, you must first discover your purpose on earth, this will help you answer other questions correctly. The reason for these is that, you are not wired to do everything but something.

Also, it is not everyone you can marry. Your destiny is tied to someone complementary. Your destiny is not for everywhere or everyone, but to a specific location or some specific locations. So you don't get wasted in a location you're not needed. It is not every job you can do, some jobs will take you off your destiny track. Some jobs will swap your calling with money. Some jobs will kill your calling with busyness.

It is not every church you can attend, not necessarily because they are ungodly. It is because God has something that should feed your destiny and push you to maximally functional well in serving God and humanity in your divinely chosen church. If you don't understand this, you might end up going to a church to catch fun and cruise, with fine worship, fine preaching that is not for you under a man of God and you get wasted!

It is with this passion placed in me by God that, I welcome you into this new series. I know God will surely open up the eyes of many through these series of destiny discovery, destiny development and destiny deployment.

Fasten your seat belt. Even if you're not a youth, you can use the lessons learnt here to train some youths around you, so nobody is left out. Have an open mind to receive what God has prepared for you in this season and place your life under the searchlight of God.

I pray that your eyes of understanding open up and you'll receive the grace for speed and accuracy in your destiny in Jesus name!
