Many thought only Pastors should give themselves time of study of the word .No ,No No .
Every believer is called to study the Bible .Joshua will tell the children of Israelites in Joshua 1:8 KJV
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. "
The believer is called to called to meditate the word then He will make his ways prosperous and he shall have good success .
The believer who has studied the word well will know what is making your way prosperous and good Success.
The write of Joshua 1:8 is a student of moses so he learn under Moses .
Deuteronomy 17:18-19
And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:Deuteronomy
and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
Did you see where Joshua got what he wrote ?so Moses referred it to kings ,Joshua was talking to the whole children of Israel .it's the same thing .
So what is making your way prosperous ?it is the fear of the Lord
Good success will mean you will learn to keep all his statues.
What is the statutes of the Lord
Mathew 28;19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Did you see "teaching them to OBSERVE" ?it means Jesus didn't get that statement from thin air ,He got it from the writing of moses .
Observe and Keep is the same word .
Putting all this Books together ,making your way prosperous and having a good success is to be engross with the Fathers will ;making men new creations through the preaching of the gospel .
Making your way prosperous will not mean you will have Cars and beautiful houses .Good success will not also mean living in a big house (good as they are but that's not what that verse will mean)
Making your way prosperous and Good success is going after men to preach the gospel to them to make them the dwelling of God .
It's God's desire to dwell in men .
Every believer should be given to the study of the word ,hence why the need to know how to interpret the Bible .A good Pastor will teach you how to interpret the Bible ,so that you will know how to interpret it well and so that one day if he drifts up you can say Pastor how about this book of the bible,chapter this .
Yes a good Pastor can drift from sound doctrine Paul will say "If we or an angel from heaven preach another gospel "he knew we too can preach unsound doctrine .
