Yesterday, someone said to me, “KAA, stop using Em Dash and Ellipsis when you write, people assume such posts are written by AI.”
As if that was not enough, she also said I should stop using, “Here’s the truth.” According to her, it’s also AI that uses that.
Ha!
Something I have used for decades.
I went to my old profile page and showed her dozens of posts I made five years ago, long before ChatGPT and the rest, with Em Dash, En Dash, Ellipsis, Here’s the truth, etc.
These days, sometimes one is even afraid of writing too well to avoid creating the assumption that it’s AI generated.
And to make matters worse, lots of people also forget that human beings can also learn from AI just as much as AI is learning from human beings.
What’s the wrong in that? 🤷
All these Basic punctuations, Bracket and Dashes, have been in existence long before AI. It’s AI that should stop using them not human beings, if we want to go that route.
To detect AI written content is easy. None of the things aforementioned is proof of it.
And to those who run to AI for everything – it will make your brains lazy. AI should serve you not lead you. There’s a difference.
Anyway, I slept with pride last night knowing that I write so well to be compared or mistaken for AI. 😜
With the pride and mean face of POTUS, I say to you: Thank you for your attention to this matter.
