It is a calling dear
The calling to be a pastor’s wife is a test that many don’t pass.
Not because they are bad women, but because their strength is small.
“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” — Proverbs 24:10
My sister, don’t accept to marry a pastor because of the external glory, titles, recognition, or social accolades.
Accept to marry a pastor because you have prayed about the assignment and received God’s approval.
There will be days of adversity just as there will be days of peace. Days of lack as much as days of plenty. Days of tears as much as days of thanksgiving.
God may send your husband to a place you NEVER imagined yourself going.
Will you go?
To a place without the fancy buildings you are accustomed to.
A place without good roads.
A place where the comfort and recognition you once enjoyed may no longer exist.
Will you go, sister?
And it may not be because your husband wants to ridicule you or take you backwards. It may simply be part of the process toward the fulfilment of God's assignment and destiny.
I remember the story of a pastor’s wife who refused to follow her husband to the valley. She preferred the life she had become accustomed to on the mountaintop, where everyone was busy and things seemed to be happening.
Her husband suffered alone for months while she moved from place to place, searching for better options.
But guess what?
After all the roaming, nobody gave her a lasting helping hand. Eventually, she had no choice but to go and meet her husband in the field.
They may not have been where she wanted them to be yet, but at least the pastor now has someone to come home to when his head becomes weary.
Sister,
before you say yes to a pastor, pray.
Don’t marry the pulpit.
Don’t marry the title.
Don’t marry the applause.
Ask God: “Lord, is this my assignment too?”
Because sometimes, the glory people see on the mountaintop is sustained by sacrifices nobody sees in the valley.
Be sure God called you to the journey before you say yes to the man.
And yes, I am a PASTOR'S WIFE.
Kindly share to a sister intending to marry a man of God, this will help her to weigh her options better 🙏
