The Iranian Question
Iran was an ally of Israel before the advent of the Ayatollah and the Islamic Republic. Since then, the cleric-rulers of Iran declared “death to Israel & the United States.” It wasn’t an empty threat or secret plan, Iran became the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world, heavily financing and arming Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Iraqi Militias, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Assad Syrian Government, Afghan Northern Alliance, Al-Qaeda and related groups, and a host of others. Further, it started a nuclear program and would, no doubt, arm these terrorist groups with atomic bombs, if it succeeds. The Iranian government is a death cult spending several billions of dollars killing people and planning to wipe out Israel and the United States, described as the small and big Satan. Last night, their nuclear facilities were dealt a deadly blow, ending them, at least for now. There are two big questions: 1. Why does Iran want to annihilate Israel & the USA, which pose no threat to them at all? The answer is not about politics and cannot be resolved with peace. Iran’s action is based on religious prophecy from Islamic religious books—the emergence of the 12th caliphate, Imam Mahdi, who would rule the world with sharia, assisted by Isa (Jesus Christ), who would be his assistant, according to the Hadith. Iran saw no way this would happen except if Israel and the US were taken out, which would be apocalyptic. Ayatollah sees himself as the one to pave the way. Their action, therefore, is to cause the war, and they’re ready to pay the price, unlike the West, which is looking for peace. The 2nd big question: Is the current war with Iran the beginning of that apocalypse? Not so soon. The book of Ezekiel, chapters 38 & 39, clarifies that Israel will face a Great War from a coalition of enemy nations—the “War of Gog and Magog.” These nations, based on historical, linguistic, and geographical factors, are:
1. Magog
• Modern Equivalent: Central Asia (commonly interpreted as parts of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan)
• Reasoning: Descendants of Japheth, historically associated with the Scythians, who inhabited regions north of the Black and Caspian Seas.
2. Meshech
• Modern Equivalent: Russia (especially regions around Moscow and western Russia)
• Reasoning: Meshech is linked with ancient tribes north of the Black Sea; some associate it with the Moschi people.
3. Tubal
• Modern Equivalent: Russia or Turkey (some place it near modern-day Georgia)
• Reasoning: Like Meshech, Tubal is identified with areas north of Israel and connected with Indo-European tribes.
4. Persia
• Modern Equivalent: Iran
• Reasoning: Persia officially changed its name to Iran in 1935.
5. Cush (sometimes translated as Ethiopia)
• Modern Equivalent: Sudan (sometimes includes parts of Ethiopia)
• Reasoning: Cush was south of Egypt; in modern terms, this area is usually understood as Sudan, though some extend it into Ethiopia.
6. Put (sometimes translated as Libya)
• Modern Equivalent: Libya, possibly also parts of Algeria or Tunisia
• Reasoning: Put is generally associated with North African regions west of Egypt.
7. Gomer
• Modern Equivalent: Turkey (possibly Eastern Europe or Germany, according to some interpretations)
• Reasoning: Gomer is thought to have migrated to areas around Asia Minor or Europe.
8. Beth Togarmah
• Modern Equivalent: Turkey, Armenia, and the Caucasus region
• Reasoning: Togarmah is often linked with ancient peoples of eastern Turkey or the Caucasus Mountains.
9. Gog (of the land of Magog)
• Modern Equivalent: Not a location, but a leader or figure from Magog (often interpreted symbolically or associated with Russia)
• Reasoning: Gog is a prophetic title, not a geographic region.
Summary Table
Biblical Name Modern Equivalent
Magog: Russia, Central Asia
Meshech: Russia (Moscow region)
Tubal: Russia or Turkey
Persia: Iran
Cush: Sudan (possibly Ethiopia)
Put: Libya (possibly Algeria/Tunisia)
Gomer: Turkey (possibly Eastern Europe or Germany)
Beth Togarmah: Turkey, Armenia, Caucasus
Gog: A leader from Magog (often linked with Russia)
So, the current war is nothing but a dress rehearsal or something that would bring together the coalition against Israel.
