IN THE VOLUME OF THE BOOK: MAN'S SUREST BLUEPRINT FOR DESTINY
"Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God." — Hebrews 10:7
There is a quiet exhaustion many carry today. We are busy, brilliant, and building, yet we are tired. We rebrand, restart, and reinvent, hoping the next idea will finally bring peace. But the pressure does not lift. The reason is simple. Jesus told us where rest is found when He said, "I have come in the volume of the books concerning that which is written." He did not come to improvise His life. He came to fulfill what was already written about Him.
Before you were born, God authored a script with your name on it. Psalm 139 says your days were written in His book before one of them came to be. That writing is not a cage. It is a blueprint. It contains your assignment, your grace, your timing, and the doors that will open without force when you walk through them.
The danger is this: you can be creative outside of that writing and still struggle. You can be productive and still be empty. You can build something big and still feel like you are pushing against heaven. Talent without alignment is striving. It is like playing in the wrong key. The notes may be right, but the music will never rest. Saul looked busy, but he was outside the command. He kept what God told him to destroy, and he lost the kingdom. Activity does not impress God. Alignment does.
Ease is not found in doing less. It is found in doing what is written. When you step into the place God ordained for you, pressure turns to purpose. The same work that drained you now gives you life because it is your assignment. Favor goes ahead of you because heaven is backing the script. Fruit comes without force because you are abiding, not striving. Joseph was still inside his dream in the pit, in the house, and in the prison. Because he did not try to write a new story, God sustained him through every chapter of the one He wrote.
So how do you find what is written? Go to the Author. Let the Spirit unfold the scroll in prayer and in the Word. Pay attention to the burden God placed in you, the problem that breaks you, the grace that flows when you serve. Obey the last instruction He gave you. You do not need the whole book today. You need today’s page. And kill the need to be everything. You were not written to do every good thing. You were written to do your God-thing.
Stop authoring a life God never wrote. Lay down the version of you that is impressive but not ordained. Ask Him plainly, “Lord, what is written of me?” There is a version of your life with less striving and more grace. It is not found in more hustle. It is found in the scroll. Step into it. That is where the anointing is. That is where you are.
I pray for you today, may your life not be uncertain like the wind! May your scroll of destiny as sustained in God be revealed, so you walk in it circumspectantly.
