Text: Philippians 3:10-11
Title: Knowing God

Within all of us there exists a strong desire to be known and to know others. More importantly, all people desire to know their Creator, even if they are not professed believers. Today we're bombarded with advertising that promises many ways to satisfy our cravings to know more, have more, be more. However, the empty promises that come from the world will never satisfy in the way that knowing God will satisfy. Many people say: "I know God." But do they really know God? Or they only know about God?
* Men who know God are before anything else men who pray (Dan 6:4,5,10).
* Men who know God are men who counted the cost of following Him (Acts 5:29).
* Men who know God are men who are committed to His work (Eph 2:10; Acts 8:1-4).
* To know God means to have an understanding of God and to be obedient to Him.
* Men who become Christians move from knowing about God distantly to knowing Him directly and intimately (Jn 17:3).

Title: First Thing First
Text: 2 Chronicles 5:11-14
* Before entering the Promised Land, the Israelites were asked to perform a purification ceremony. This was done in order to help them witness the great act of God in their lives. For one to experience great act of God in his/her life, the first thing must be done first: Consecration. The priests, knowing fully that if they come before the Lord with a divided hearts nothing is going to take place. They won't experience the great act of God. What they did was to deal with division among them first. When that was done, they came together with one voice give thanks and praise to the Lord, the Temple was filled with God's glory that even the priests could not perform their duties.
What happens when we sing hymns of praise unto the Lord with a heart that is consecrated?
* We see God's power release: freedom miracles as in the case of Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25,26). Life changing miracles as in the case of the Jailer (Acts 16:30). Enemies being halted and defeated (2 Chron 20:22). Hearts being changed and drawn closer to God (Ps 63:3,4).
