1. INTRODUCTION
A testimony is evidence that something has been done.
A testimony is a declaration of what God has done, is doing, or has brought us through.
When we testify, we are declaring the faithfulness of God and giving evidence of His works in our lives.
Key Thought
A testimony confirms that God has done something in our lives.
Our testimony is not just a story; it is an evidence of God’s intervention.
⸻
2. WHAT IS A TESTIMONY?
A. Testimony is evidence
A testimony provides evidence that something has happened.
When God gives you victory, healing, restoration, provision, breakthrough, or deliverance, your experience becomes a testimony.
B. Testimony is a declaration
Testimony allows us to declare what God has done.
We should not hide what God has done for us.
Do not swallow your testimony.
What God has done in your life may be the very thing someone else needs to hear to believe Him.
⸻
3. THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTIMONY
A. Testimony gives glory to God
When we testify, we acknowledge that God is the source of our victory.
B. Testimony builds faith
A testimony can strengthen the faith of the person giving it.
It can also strengthen the faith of those who hear it.
Your testimony can become somebody else’s encouragement.
C. Testimony produces thanksgiving
There should be thanksgiving attached to our testimonies.
When we remember what God has done, our response should be gratitude.
⸻
4. WHAT CAN TESTIMONY DO?
1. Testimony can be rooted in Scripture
The Bible contains testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
Scripture itself gives us evidence of what God has done for His people.
2. Testimony speaks to a living issue
A testimony is not merely something we read about in the past.
It can address real and present situations.
What God has done before can give us confidence that He can do it again.
3. Testimony gives birth to another testimony
One testimony can produce another testimony.
When someone hears how God delivered, restored, provided, or gave victory to another person, their faith can rise to trust God for their own situation.
Your testimony can become the seed for someone else’s testimony.
⸻
5. TESTIMONY AND FAITH
“At all times, testimony enables faith to grow—both your faith and the faith of others.”
A testimony reminds us of the faithfulness of God.
When we remember previous victories, we can face present challenges with confidence.
Important lesson:
Don’t forget what God has done.
The God who did it before is still God today.
⸻
6. PRACTICAL LESSONS
Lesson 1: Don’t hide your testimony
If God has done something for you, give Him the glory.
Lesson 2: Don’t swallow your testimony
Someone may need your testimony to receive encouragement.
Lesson 3: Always attach thanksgiving to your testimony
Give God the glory for what He has done.
Lesson 4: Use your testimony to build faith
Your testimony should point people to God, not merely to yourself.
Lesson 5: Expect another testimony
What God has done before can become the foundation for what He will do next.
⸻
7. CONCLUSION
A testimony is evidence of God’s faithfulness.
It confirms that God has acted.
It strengthens faith.
It produces thanksgiving.
It encourages others.
And it can give birth to another testimony.
Final Charge
Don’t swallow your testimony.
What God has done in your life is not only for you. Your testimony can strengthen somebody who is currently going through what you have already overcome.
Your testimony today can become someone else’s faith tomorrow.
Closing Prayer
Lord, help us to remember Your goodness, to boldly testify of Your works, and to never take Your faithfulness for granted. Let our testimonies bring glory to Your name and strengthen the faith of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
